2024 Corvette included aeb. Window sticker shows aeb included. Build code shows aeb in build. Car one month old 650 miles. The sales dealership and second gm dealership communications with gm tech reads system as ok. But does not work. Gm system tech says system reads ok but the automatic emergency braking has never assisted oar applied one ounce f brakes since I bought it 12/06/2024. I reported to gm consumer complaints and they keep reading from a script "if system check says vehicle is performing to specs, etc. " but the vehicle is not performing to specs. The aeb is not working at all. Gms refusal to address the problem is completly unsafe and unacceptable.

I purchased this car from a dealer in sarasota florida. Driving it home from the dealer, I was driving approximately 70 mph on [xxx] near sarasota. The vehicle suddenly braked and pulled to the left simultaneously. I have taken it to a repair shop that specializes in Corvettes, and trying to id the problem. In doing research, evidently it is related to the active handling system. There is a recall NHTSA campaign number: 10v172000 manufacturer general motors corp. Components steering potential number of units affected 40,028 and a service bulletin 10118. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

Front wheels are defective confirmed by certified gm dealership which causes unsafe operation of vehicle. Even though wheels are in pristine condition gm will not cover replacement wheels under their warranty. I spoke with gm about the service bulletins they put out regarding the 2020&2021 castings issues with those wheels causing the same complaints however gm still won’t cover their apparent manufacturer’s issues with faulty wheel castings. Installing replacement oem wheels from gm still will cause a significant safety issue with the vehicles irregular wear if tires and steering issues with these oblong wheels. No warning system notifications were prompted by the vehicle just a significant front end vibration also verified by gm Corvette technician. Technician video taped wheels on a wheel balancing machine where it is visually apparent they are oblong. Purchasing aftermarket forged wheels that come with a full warranty instead of using the oem gm wheels which are still clearly defective and will cause safety issues to include a possible loss of life with this issue they won’t even look into or take responsibility. Also rear brakes made a thumping noise after washing vehicle and parking it with the emergency brake set. Vehicle was looked at by Corvette technician in conjunction with above stated wheel issue. Gm corrected issue by tech driving vehicle for unspecified amount of time and called it repaired under their guidelines. No replacement of rotor, brake pads, calipers or any other part associated with this issue stated by customer service representative. I was told to not use the emergency brake or problem could arise again. I insisted that there is an issue with the braking system and wanted replacement parts installed under the manufacturers warranty but was denied and told no issue exists. Ebrake is provided on vehicles as a safety mechanism and there is a significant problem with this system on this vehicle that gm won’t take responsibility!.
The active handling applies itself with normal non aggressive driving. When activated the brakes apply and lock up, this has happened in low speed turns at intersections and even when driving straight. I have had the vehicle to the dealership to resolve as this is a major safety concern leaving the car locked up in the middle of an intersection. They stated it was the sensor behind the steering wheel and they fixed it but the problem still persists. Secondly the driver seat has begun moving on its own and inching me closer to the steering wheel with no interference with the button while driving. I have since disconnected the seat fuse to prevent collision from improper driver positioning.

Normal driving conditions while in z-mode in moderate traffic, an audible bang was heard, however there was no immediate issue. A few minutes later the check engine light, abs, traction control and other lights appear on dash. Once lights appear, brakes fail and no longer slow the car down, the gas pedal only revved the car and could no longer accelerate. The car was still on and “driving”, I just didn’t have acceleration or brakes. I put my turn signal on and eventually was able to safely pull off the road and stop the vehicle utilizing neutral and the emergency parking brake. I was in genuine fear of crashing due to not having brakes or acceleration and felt that if the parking brake and/or neutral failed, then I’d have to crash to stop the vehicle. Not having brakes or acceleration put myself, my passenger, and every vehicle around me when it occurred at risk of injury. This has occurred twice in less than 1 year of ownership with this vehicle and I’ve taken it to two dealerships, mike reichenbach Chevrolet and rick hendrick Chevrolet. When it first occurred in December 2023, I was also in z-mode in light traffic, after it occurred, I drove slowly to the dealership with the hazard lights on. The second time I brought it to a dealership was after the first dealership couldn’t find the cause nor replicate the issue. The codes were cleared by the first dealership, but the car was still operating roughly and not as designed. The third time, in July 2024, it was brought to rick hendrick Chevrolet where the service invoice says “good possibility the aftermarket gps unit plugged into the dlc port is shorting out the vehicle communication circuits and causing intermittent electrical issues. May be also causing battery drain issue. ” the device referred to is called bouncie, I got it after this first occurred and the service team there is blaming both of these occurrences on the device. No repair was performed as the issue couldn’t be replicated.

I ran an update on my c8 Corvette, left the car till it was completed. The next day I left with the car and went through the stop sign and through 2 lanes of traffic and almost down a ditch. I live in a country setting. I almost had a very serious accident. I had no brakes. The dash said service brake assist, service asc and brake failure. Although my car only has 758 miles it has run with no issues since I took delivery of it in September 2021. This happened because of that update. On the Corvette forum I have 2 documented experiences of 2 other 2022 c8 Corvette owners with the exact same issue as me. As of this writing I'm waiting to be towed to apple Chevrolet in tinley park I'll. This is a very serious problem. I will be afraid to drive my car now as I've had a terrible experience. I'm 73 years old. Please feel free to contact me at baczorro@yahoo. Com or 8158069808 thank you.

One week ago received a manufacturer ota update to install in vehicle which I always download. A few days later I drove vehicle to store and turned vehicle off in parking lot for 5 minutes. Upon returning to vehicle, unable to start vehicle. Vehicle display provided message “battery low start vehicle” but vehicle would not start. Tow company attempted to jump vehicle multiple times but not successful. Vehicle had to be towed for service. My vehicle is always stored in garage and plugged into battery charger when not in use and should not be dead. Vehicle information system displays message “service brake system” and “service transmission unable to shift soon”. Vehicle unable to operate and awaiting scheduled service at dealership.

Experiencing an ongoing problem where the brakes pulsate and vibrate badly, especially after rotors and pads get hot. I am concerned about the safety and possible failure of the brakes if it is not corrected. - the vehicle was purchased as cpo at antwerpen Chevrolet dealership in eldersburg, MD with 2155 miles on it. The carfax noted the front brake rotor(s) were resurfaced. I questioned it and the dealership assured me they would take care of any issue I had with it. - I started experiencing the pulsating at 2550 miles. I went to the dealership and they were very helpful and ended up replacing the front rotors and pads. It appeared to be corrected. - at 3253 miles pulsation started again. Dealer replaced the rear rotors & pads & rechecked front rotors/pads. Ok for a while. - at 3897 miles it started again. Note: each time the dealership was able to duplicate the issue including the service mgr and the general mgr. The front rotors were turned/pads checked. Ok for a while. - at 4037 miles it started again. Service manager was able to duplicate. Through all of this, multiple cases have been opened with general motors by myself and the dealership. It has been escalated to various levels. Mileage was put on the car as gm escalation process was ongoing. They then replaced the front rotors and disc pads. - at 5150 miles it started again. This is a serious safety problem as it is a constant concern how reliable the brakes will be. Full details are documented on the following pages with dates. Please reference the Corvette forum link that backs up this is a problem for 2021/2022 z51 Corvettes and not just my issue [xxx] gm's answer is that this is normal for a Corvette z51 package. This is a concerning response. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
I purchased my 2005 Corvette c6 from a used car dealership on 4/30/2023. The car was fine for the first week. The second week I began getting a lot of error codes specifically: service active handling system service traction control service abs shocks inoperative service fuel system. At times it would go into limp mode. I would find a safe place to pull off. I would shut the car off and it would not restart. I would check the relays under the hood and the passenger floorboard. Eventually it would restart and drive again until the next time. I have replaced the following components: battery cables with factory replacement new battery, twice new high output alternator and a new belt. These items solved the many codes. Now I get service traction system, and the traction control shuts off. When this happened last, I got a p0101 maf sensor error. Replaced the maf sensor 8/13. Has not happened as of yesterday. I have checked all of the grounds, added a new ground system called the big three. I should not have to put all this work into a well documented issue not only in the c6 but other models.
The contact owns a 2005 Chevrolet Corvette. The contact stated while driving approximately 20-25 mph down a steep hill, he depressed the brake pedal however, the vehicle failed to stop as needed. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the brakes failed. The contact stated that brake fluid was leaking from the vehicle. The contact then saw thick smoke coming from the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not under recall and that the report would not be covered. The failure mileage was approximately 92,000.
Service active handling/service traction control.
My service active handling and traction control light will come on randomly and disappear, when it does come on usually my car will brake on one side of the car and skip and skid over to one side. When it happens I have zero control of the braking and steering and it has taken my car into another lane completely. It is terrifying and I've had the whole brake system replaced, along with ecm, ebcm, rack and pinion all suspension and steering components, wiring harness and just about everything I could think of that may cause it. I have a tilting telescope steering wheel and I've heard that they can cause this.
The contact owns a 2006 Chevrolet Corvette. The contact stated while driving at speeds above 25 mph, the abs system failed, causing the front brakes to activate without the driver depressing the brake pedal. During the failure the active handling warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the active handling control module wiring harness was faulty and needed to be replaced. Additionally, while operating the vehicle the low beam headlights inadvertently turned off. The mechanic diagnosed that the wiring harness for the exterior lighting needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure. The contact was informed that the vehicle was previously repaired under NHTSA campaign number: 14v251000 (electrical system, exterior lighting). The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 50,000.
I own a 1998 Chevrolet Corvette. The ebcm can have an issue. Complains of traction control, abs braking and ah active handling. This can cause issues when driving with no abs active. I have seen numerous complaints about this issue here and on various forums. Unfortunately the part needed to correct the issue is no longer available and for some reason cannot be repaired. Used parts are costly (2k or more) and no guarantee they work. Gm should provide replacement part or work around. If not available they should offer total car buy backs for a fare price depending on condition or offer an exchange for a Corvette that can be repaired.

Almost every c5 (1997-2004) Corvette is affected by a faulty electronic brake control module. When this module fails, the car illuminates the abs and traction control light. And displays service abs and service traction control messages. This is a serious safety issue as when this happens, the abs brakes no longer work nor does the traction control. It blows my mind how this has never been recalled especially on a rear drive sports car.

I have a potential ah/tc (active handling) system problem. Today the “service active handling system” light came on and upon search of the fix within my Corvette community I discovered that it is potentially a deadly issue where brakes may lock up on the freeway! please send me information on a fix with gm or where this is at in the process in regards to a recall. Thank you for your attention to this apparently deadly issue.
Car only has 31,000 miles on it and it's leaking gas from the top of the gas tank. Will need fuel pump replaced. Not a safe thing to have cheap parks, spilling gas over the exhaust pipes. Major safety issue to me! anti lock brake system is also giving issues for a couple years now, noted by previous owner. This car only has 31,000 miles!.
On numerous occasions the past two years the active handling system in the vehicle will take control for no reason and brake on one side causing the car to swerve out of its lane and other times applies the brakes on its own. Very dangerous.
I experienced loss of control by skidding and almost leaving the road toward a dropoff while applying the brake since the abs, active handling, traction control systems have been malfunctioning at 35mph on a mountain road applying the brake as I was going around a sharp curve I believe the cause of this malfunction of the abs/ah system is a faulty ebcm which is known by countless members of the Corvette owners community as a safety issue that should have been recalled a long time ago. If I would have known about this issue without an active recall I would not have bought the car. Several times this has happened in varied situations and I cannot rely on these safety features to save my life if something occurs that would send me out of control into another vehicle or over a steep cliff like in the close call I mentioned earlier in this text. Gm does not value my life as much as I do and this recall would have bankrupted them shortly after 2000. I'm sure there are hundreds of thousands of wrecked Corvettes and loss of life due to this failure to recall them so they should be able to afford it 20 years later.

The abs tcs system on my 2000 Corvette has malfunctioned. I've been told that this can't be repaired. After researching this seems to be a chronic problem on this vehicle. My Corvette only has 49000 miles on it and this is a serious safety issue involving control of the vehicle during an emergency braking condition, especially on wet roads.
The contact owns a 2011 Chevrolet Corvette. The contact stated that while driving approximately 10 mph and making a slight left turn, the brakes erroneously applied causing the vehicle to abruptly stop. During the failure, the message service active handling system was displayed. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer jim trenary Chevrolet (501 auto mall dr, o'fallon, mo 63368) and diagnosed that the steering column was faulty and needed to be replaced. The steering column was replaced however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 15,000.
This complaint is a result of gm non action to their recall a202307260. It has been 2 months since the recall has been announced and parts or not available. Loss the the affected item (brake booster) severely impacts safety that could cause an accident resulting in severe injuries or death. Gm has parts -- they are building 180 units per day. There are under 700 - 2020 Corvette cars affected by this recall. Gm is putting profit and sales ahead of safety. Nhtsa should require gm to immediately use production parts to remedy this issue and close this recall considering it is safety related.

While driving the car in the busy road on July 5, 2005 the dic showed service active handling system, and the engine abs and tcs warning lighted up in the dashboard, suddenly the car slowed down and have difficulty accelerating.
2006 Corvette, VIN is 1g1yy26u865110767 approximately 10 times while driving anywhere from 5 mph to 75 mph the steering wheel jerks the vehicle the left. . . . . . . Almost causing an accident many times by pulling me into the median.
While traveling approximately 40 mph within a left curve, the vehicle suddenly lost traction in the rear wheels sending the vehicle across the opposite lane and into the oncoming traffic shoulder. Car was traveling on a warm sunny day on a two lane country road. It is my best guess that the vehicle applied rear brakes as a means of active handling. I strongly believe if the brakes did not electronically apply, the vehicle would not have lost control.
Ebcm failure resulting in loss of anti skid system, active handling system and traction control system. This is a serious safety issue which directly impacts the braking system and steering. Apparently it's a common failure and gm has stopped manufacturing of the needed modules. The result is that hundreds of thousands of this type of vehicle are either unsafe now or will become unsafe without any warning.

Tl-the contact owns a 2006 Chevrolet Corvette. While driving at various speeds down a hill the brakes and service active handling system spontaneously engaged. In addition, while in reverse the brakes applied without warning. The tpms warning light was illuminated. The local dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. The failure mileage was 78,000. Ap.
Nhtsa campaing number 10v172000. My car is presenting this problem, it is completely unsafe to drive and I am afraid to have an accident to weight that there is evidence of the gm dealers problem do not want to attend under its responsibility.
Car stopped at stop sign turning right into traffic, steering became shakier and brakes started locking up and traction control service light came on. Top speed was 20mph.
The ebcm does not work I've tried to have it repaired 3 times now told unrepairable gm no longer makes the part with so many vette owners having this problem you would wonder why there isn't something being done cause now we are driving vehicle not the way it was intended spoke to gm many times pretty told discontinued sorry too bad your on your own.

Abs/traction control lights on. Went to dealer and no part is available to make the repair. So I have no abs or tracion control on my car part no 9367071 & 12530740.
Making a u-turn or any extreme position of steering wheel rotation causes abs and service traction control lights to engage and forces a seizure if the brakes, locking them and preventing any kind of movement. The only solution to unlocking brakes through my experience is to shut off and restart the vehicle.
