Service column lock, service active handling system. Engine shut down (off) happened and avoided collision. Contacted gm and refused to issue a TSB (#18-na-346, issued November 14, 2018).

Shifting luggage during a left turn caused the remote front trunk saftey switch inside the trunk to be depressed and open the front trunk, this was at low speed in my neighborhood, no damage or issues occurred, however if this had happened at higher speeds, the front trunk lid could have caused loss of visibility if the lid had completely opened.

The vehicle would not shift out of park. Car has less than 20,000 miles. This happened once in a while at first then over time increased to almost every other time the car was started. I took it for repair and was told after searching the VIN # that my 2008 was installed with a 2007 shifter and gear. They said chevy had numerous problems with the 2007 shifter and changed the 2008 parts so this would not happen. I had to replace both parts at around $2,500. 00! I also had to wait on the parts to be found and there was only one available in the entire u. S. Chevy should have to pay for my repair since a 2007 part(s) should not have been placed in a 2008!.

Failure of active handling system with onboard computer message to have the system serviced. Other drivers (owner forums) have reported significant safety hazards related to this system failure. Reported issues include system-driven steering and braking actions that lead to mishandling of the car that could put the driver, passengers, other drivers, and property at risk. At this point in time, the problem has not been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center. At this time, the vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others. There have been no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the prior to the failure, which occurred on 8/12/21. Currently, the car is shifting gears hard and the engine is running in a very rough manner.

My Corvette as well as many others from 97-04 suffer from the active handling abs/traction control system going bad. The part is known as the ebcm. When it goes bad (if cruise is engaged) the car will disable cruise control suddenly causing car to slow down. Also, when the system fails while moving it cause cause uneven brake feeling and you loose the abs and traction control systems . Gm has discontinued the parts required to repair this and this issue has been major safety concerns for many years now affecting many 97-04 Corvettes. Also a part of this system is the steeling wheel position sensor which is also discontinued. Swps can send wrong info to the other computers and the car will make erroneous 'corrections' that can lead to brakes being applied at any moment while driving.

My car has been broken for over a year now. It has been to the dealership for the main engine wiring harness part number 19115750 which is unique to the 2005 and 2006 Corvette. The failure causes several different problem. It keeps the tcm from which is the traction control module which adjust speed and traction to the wheels which is design to help drivers keep their cars under control. Without this system the car will loose traction and can cause it to go off the road. The second issue with the harness is it can put the car limp mode which restricts the speed to under 40mph which if you are driving and trying to excel into traffic this system will come in without notice and put you into a situation where if you are trying to merge or just go when the light changes it will only go like 5 mph causes the cars behind you to run into the rear of your vehicle and when if fail and you are pulling into traffic it causes your car to be in a direct line of impact with oncoming vehicle. The engine harness also provides power to the transmission via the ecm which keeps it from providing enough power to run the transmission control computer. This will make your car not go into gear or make it go completely out so without a transmission your car won’t move at all. This happens without notice. Now gm doesn’t make a replacement harness anymore making your vehicle unusable. Gm also wants between 7k and 10k to make a harness for the vehicle. This doesn’t include installation. This makes the owners like myself have to seek other means to repair the vehicle. Like having a custom harness made for vehicle. Since gm only made this harness for 2 years it has been impossible for me to get my vehicle repaired at any cost. Making owner to make decisions that are unfair to owners. Like sell the car for scrap paid the expensive repair which is like half the value of the car. Trade the car and lose thousands of dollars if you can find a dealership willing to take it.

Center information screen has electrical issue and goes blank for days or weeks at a time restricting ability for monitoring safety issues with the vehicle. Vehicle available for inspection. This malfunction restricts abilities to monitor safety information on the screen. Mechanic has looked at the issue and was not able to address the issue. The issue has not been inspected by police or insurance. There was no indications prior to the failure of electrical screen. The issue first started about a year ago (03-30-2021).

When taking the car out of park, the shifter is stuck, you have to turn the car back off and then on to get it to release sometime it take 2-3 times repeating for it to disengage. Also, the battery drains if it started every week. This car only has 36,000 miles is not drive but on nice days.

Vehicle starts but will not shift out of park with foot on brake. Eventually after repeated attempts or leaving vehicle for a little while, re-try and issue goes away. Issue happens randomly and cannot be replicated easily.

I experienced loss of control by skidding and almost leaving the road toward a dropoff while applying the brake since the abs, active handling, traction control systems have been malfunctioning at 35mph on a mountain road applying the brake as I was going around a sharp curve I believe the cause of this malfunction of the abs/ah system is a faulty ebcm which is known by countless members of the Corvette owners community as a safety issue that should have been recalled a long time ago. If I would have known about this issue without an active recall I would not have bought the car. Several times this has happened in varied situations and I cannot rely on these safety features to save my life if something occurs that would send me out of control into another vehicle or over a steep cliff like in the close call I mentioned earlier in this text. Gm does not value my life as much as I do and this recall would have bankrupted them shortly after 2000. I'm sure there are hundreds of thousands of wrecked Corvettes and loss of life due to this failure to recall them so they should be able to afford it 20 years later.

Center screen completely dead. No audio, video or reverse view thereby causing a safety problem. The reverse camera does not come on and there is no display. Unable to see anything while reversing due to the way the car is designed.

The vehicle is stationary. Proceed to start vehicle. Steering column locks up. Has occurred several times. I am the third owner of this vehicle. In researching information regarding past recalls apparently hedrick's dealership of fresno, CA completed work but in asking what they completed, I was informed that all past computer data was purged from their files so they cannot tell me what was completed. I then called gm to get information but after talking to three different people I was told they were not allowed to give me any information as to what was completed. I referenced a gm report entitled "04006c - product safety recall - February 8, 2006" in talking with the gm representatives and I was told the report didn't exist. The report was found at https://static. Nhtsa. Gov. This report replaced bulletin 04006b - November 23, 2004. In reading on NHTSA, several other owners experienced the same vehicle issues with steering column. Plus, with work being completed but still having same issues. Can you assist me in obtaining the recall work completion report on my vehicle? hedrick's indicated that I would have to bring the vehicle in for a diagnostic review at the cost of $165. 00 and then go from there. In reading "04006c - product safety recall - February 8, 2006" it indicates, "dealers are to service all vehicles subject to this recall at no charge to customers, regardless of mileage, age of vehicle, or ownership, from this time forward. " plus, whatever work hedrick's completed the work wasn't sufficient as the issue of the steering column locking up continues.

35000 miles . . Trans occasionally sticks in park. If you "mess" with it it will fix itself, till next time. Very dangerous if you are in a position to have to start the car in a emergency. Thanks fred carr.

While driving the car in the busy road on July 5, 2005 the dic showed service active handling system, and the engine abs and tcs warning lighted up in the dashboard, suddenly the car slowed down and have difficulty accelerating.

The battery on my Corvette physically exploded when I tried to start it and literally blew part of the battery away and started a fire. It would have definitely killed me if I had the hood open and was inspecting the engine. The incident was reported to gm and today I received the acdelco generic form letter dated 25 September 2020 making the assumption that the battery was being charged for 8-years, make the assumption it was over charged and instruct me to go and buy an air freshener to get the acid smell out of my vehicle. As a proud and loyal gm vehicle owner for the past 50 years, I find your arrogant response to our complaint nothing less than disgusting and is not associated with a professional corporation like general motors. Furthermore, making false claims and outright lying does not help the image of your company. One gets the impression that you are reading a general response from a q-card without any feeling or any intention to try and address the issue, never mind resolving the issue. Provide us with the contact details of your department director to take it up directly with him. During our call today, 18 November 2020 your office was adamant that there is a very clear warning in the owners manual that states that a trickle charger should not be used and that you will send us a copy of the warning. We reviewed the gm email dated 18 November 2020 and it does not have any warning against using a trickle charger. While traveling approximately 40 mph within a left curve, the vehicle suddenly lost traction in the rear wheels sending the vehicle across the opposite lane and into the oncoming traffic shoulder. Car was traveling on a warm sunny day on a two lane country road. It is my best guess that the vehicle applied rear brakes as a means of active handling. I strongly believe if the brakes did not electronically apply, the vehicle would not have lost control.

We recently purchased the car and it is a convertible and we cant get the top working at all. We took it where we purchased it and they don't have a clue how to fix it. This is the second thing that was wrong. We got the fuel pump leak repaired. We cant enjoy the car if the top doesn't work. It doesn't make sense to pay for something if you cant enjoy it.

I just purchased the vehicle 11-04-2019. The trunk pops open when I get in the car and sit down. There is also a problem when backing up to pull off and turning to the left or right, the car will start jerking and there's a popping sound.

Car has 8750 miles passenger door will not open and window will not roll up.

My 2016 Corvette with 13000 + miles has been in the shop with the � service rear axle light � on despite several attempts to fix it. After several trips to the service department they have been unsuccessful. This past week, I was notified by (service supervisor) that they have exhausted all efforts in the attempt to fix my car. I now have to wait for an engineer to be dispatched physically to look into this issue . According to service supervisor , this can take several weeks. I have looked at the internet and have found several Corvette owners having/ experiencing the same problem. Is gm looking into this ? does gm know what the problem is so they can share it here locally ? why cant my local dealership fix my problem despite working with gm engineers? what are my options? this light seems to come on on first starts or after being off for hours.

The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired as of yet. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer has not been informed of failure. The failure mileage was 6,890. Dp.

Tl the contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Corvette. While driving approximately 15 mph and making a turn, the vehicle began to fishtail. The contact released the accelerator pedal to stabilize the vehicle as various warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was driven to the contact's residence and remained parked for one week. When the vehicle was started again, all the warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was towed to kuni Chevrolet Cadillac (916-538-721, located at 7 2449 fulton Ave, sacramento, CA 95825) where the computer system was replaced. The failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that the failure would be investigated. The contact stated that the vehicle remained at the dealer's for several weeks and was not repaired. The failure mileage was 45,091.

Returned from a drive. Backed car into parking spot and transmission will not go into park. As a result, can not restart car.

The pedal/ throttle body circuit has issues has you are driving the car goes on limb mode, I almost got crashed into, I looked online and there is hundreds of complains including the trucks as well.

My 2010 grand sport Corvette will crank and not start. This has been happening for the last few months. 39921 on the clock.

Radio flickers and screen rolls as the car is driving causing you to take your eyes off the road constantly creating a big distraction. This happens everytime the car is operating.
