1 Engine Oil Leaking problem

Failure Date: 04/22/2021

Check engine light came on and car was leaked oil onto the driveway, when car was parked. The next day, car was taken in to be serviced. "upon vehicle inspection, technician(tech) found, oil filter adapter leaking oil. " "need gasket to block. "resealed oil cooler and oil filter adapter seals. " "tech also found valve cover leaking. Replace cover leaking oil. Replaced valve cover. Tech found trans oil cooler lines both leaking lines- replaced. Customer states check engine light is on. Replaced purge valve. Tech found battery negative cable high resistance. Replaced negative battery cable. After 8 days without her car and after paying for the aforementioned services, when the car was parked in the driveway, it continued to leak oil! tech informed her that it was a new problem and that she would have to pay an extra $700! the fact the tech had the audacity to think it was ok to say that to her or anyone else, is appalling, to say the least. I'm sure someone has had a similar problem with this make nd model.

2 Engine Oil Leaking problem

My car has been fitting the description of a specific recall on the same year and model. (I. E. : recall #12v288000 - date: 6/22/2012 - component engine and engine cooling) I purchased my car through carmax less than a year ago and have had multiple issues including, airbag senor problems, rmp issues, alternator replacement, etc. I've dealt with an oil leak from the valve cover most recently. I took it in for an oil change and found out there was a leak which was so bad it saturated everything in the engine area collecting near the engine and exhaust system. This lead to an awful burning smell. The valve cover was replaced and now two weeks later there is still an awful burning smell coming from both inside and outside the car. The valve cover doesn't seem to be leaking oil, and I don't see any weird objects or debris in the engine area. The recall previously mentioned fits my current problem to a t - but according to my VIN there have been 0 recalls. The car is not dependable at this point due to risk of fume inhalation and potential fire. It has been in the shop multiple times since I bought it and I have barely put 6,000 miles on it since purchase.

3 Engine Oil Leaking problem

Failure Date: 10/15/2020

Oil is running from a cast nut that holds an alternator bracket to the engine block and with the car going down the road at highway speeds there' a strong possibility that oil coming from this cast nut that cant hold the bracket stable is letting the pressure of the oil to run out and possibly come in contact with the internal workings of the alternator and short it out with the possibility of a fire starting and causing other problems under the hood plus the chance of destroying the engine if the leak of the oil pressure pushes that end of the bracket out of the engine block and the oil will come out like water coming out of a water hose. What is happening now every time I drive the car and stop it leaves oil all over different parts of the engine compartment and the oil leaves a big puddle on my garage floor and I end up having to crawl under the car to clean excess oil off the engine and the garage floor on a regular basis. You tube is showing that several different people have this problem the bracket is pushing out due the fact that the cast nut is breaking down due to the heat and in turn oil starts running all over the top side of the motor and into different areas of the engine compartment. It might really give you a better ideal of this problem if you look on you tube concerning oil leak problems with the Chevrolet Cruze 1. 4l engine starting in 2012 and it started on approx. 10-15-2020 and continues to happen according to how far I drive and how long the engine is at operating temperature. If I can help you to help me and a lot of other people that are having this problem . Thanks for your time and I hope this can be taken care for the safety aspect! thanks again I really appreciate your help.

4 Engine Oil Leaking problem

Failure Date: 03/10/2020

My engine is leaking oil and my transmission is slipping. After I filled up the gas tank one day the car jerked and the engine light never went off. I'm not sure why there isn't a recall on it when apparently these cars are notorious for these issues. Jack maxton told me some gear broke inside my transmission.

5 Engine Oil Leaking problem

Failure Date: 01/20/2020

The oil cooler seal leaks, and drops oil on the exhaust. This gives off smoke, and is a fire hazard. Also the fumes from the dripping oil is sucked into the cabin air intake, and contaminates the air in the cabin.

6 Engine Oil Leaking problem

Failure Date: 01/09/2020

I purchased a car on December 19th 2019 I put $4,000 down on a 2012 chevy Cruze from a from a used car lot here in daytona beach florida I cannot get my oil change the screw that lets the oil out of the oil pan has been stripped and I was unable to get the oil changed because in order to do that they would have to break it and spot welding would need to be done also every time I shut my car off and go to turn it back on I have to get a jump my car battery loses its energy or whatever you want to call it so it loses power my battery the battery is 5 years old also my rotors are brand-new but my brake pads are bad and they would not when I say they I mean autoventure in holly hill florida where I bought the car will not give me a carfax instead they gave me another thing that's like carfax and it says that my car is full is and there's nothing wrong with it when indeed the motor itself is from a junkyard and they did not deny that so this is within the first three weeks of me having the car and I'm already seeing this many problems. Also I have an oil leak I was told to purchase a a cover to where you put the oil in the car cuz the cover might be old and it still might not be as good so I went to chevy dealership and purchase it for $28 only to find out that valve cover gasket also needs to be replaced so my car is leaking oil the oil change place where I've been taking my car's the last 6 years would not touch my car and give me an oil change due to the fact that the bolt at the bottom of the oil pan has been stripped so not only is my oil at 6% but now I can't get my oil changed because of it.

7 Engine Oil Leaking problem

The valve cover is shit! I've replaced three in a year an a half! this is causing massive oil leaks and needs to be fixed! the whole damn thingb I'm getting really pissed about this.

8 Engine Oil Leaking problem

Failure Date: 10/14/2017

The car has had all recall work done for both issues however the vehicle is spewing oil again and even after the brakes have been replaced the vehicle does not stop when in reverse or moving slowly forward. Chevy states that these issues are now my issue and and spends because recall work is only one year on the warranty. When backing out from a parking spot or driveway the vehicle does not stop when the brakes are pressed and oil leaks randomly. In 2015 as they made the reveal repair the vehicle caught fire, however they claimed to have repaired the issue.

9 Engine Oil Leaking problem

Failure Date: 10/29/2016

My 2012 chevy Cruze eco suddenly lost power and acceleration was very poor on 10/29/2016. Almost got hit trying to pull out from a stop sign because the power was no longer there to take off. After having an auto mechanic shop look at the car on 10/31/2016 we discovered that the oil line from the block or where the oil supply comes from for the turbo had been a plastic line that had melted and stopped oil from flowing to the turbo charger. This appears to be a poor design on gm's part to use plastic lines for something that will obviously be transferring hot oil. It seems to have caused the turbo to burn up and also created an exhaust leak . I am still waiting on a final price from the mechanic shop to find out how much damage was done. They have called me today 11/1/2016 and asked that I come in so they can show me more damage they have found as a result of this line melting. I have spoken to one of the owners at russell barnett family of dealerships and they were of no help stating that it is out of warranty. Really? it is a defective design flaw so why should I be having to pay for the repair? I would like some help with this issue please! I know I have 140000+/- miles on the car but it has been mostly highway miles and maintenance has always been done on the vehicle. I use this for my work and family vehicle so it is not driven hard or abused in anyway. I hate the fact of turning in a complaint that involves a dealer that I have recommended to so many people in the past but he was of no help at all and really showed no concern that there was an issue like this with a vehicle that he had sold.

12 Engine Oil Leaking problem

Failure Date: 06/29/2014

C/s ses light was on. I took car to norman frede Chevrolet for repairs. The determined that there was a vacuum leak at the engine cam cover and replaced it - or so they said. Here is the invoice statement: "po171 vac leak at engine cam cover 4060930/0. 6 replace engine cam cover. Clear code 6061" after getting the car back, I went to nbt and had the oil changed. The next morning I drove to dallas from houston. On the way, I had another code light and called the dealership. When I got back from dallas on Sunday June 29, 2013, I discovered that there was oil on the back of my car bumper and trunk. I took it to nbt and they inspected it and confirmed that they did nothing wrong to cause the oil leak. Nbt confirmed that the engine was leaking oil at the cam cover. I dropped the vehicle at norman frede on Sunday and am in the process of getting to the bottom of the problem. The nbt person was surprised that the cam cover was plastic. This oil leak could have caused an engine fire. I am also concerned about a plastic cam cover. Should not a cam cover be metal? is this a chronic problem?.
