When driving in freezing temperatures my windows begin to fog and frost on the inside of all 4 windows, the rear window, and the corners of the windshield. After driving about 10 - 15 minutes with the defrosters blowing warm air, the car is unable to clear the frost. And by then, the frost has built up enough to the point to where I cannot see out of either drivers or passenger side window. This car was brought to lupient Chevrolet in bloomington, mn (where it was purchased 6 months ago). It was looked at for a week in which the service manger informed me that there is no fix for this problem due to the engine being too small to keep up with cold winter conditions.

Windows steam and fog frequently and the fan does not clear all windows. Windshield center will only defrost when on low speed. It will not maintain a clear view unless on high speed and then sometimes the lower corners of the windshield stay steamed or fogged. .

This exact same thing has happened 2 times. While driving normally 'service esp' and 'service traction control' warnings come on along with the engine light and the 'stabilitrak' light. The engine remains running but does not supply power to the wheels resulting in a total loss of power to the car. The first time it happened, I took it to a certified chevy dealer who told me it was a battery issue and replaced the battery. Didn't work. Happened again within a week. This situation is very unsafe as the vehicle could be stuck powerless in the middle of a turn or a number of other dangerous situation. The car is not on gm's recall list for any of the ongoing recall issues.
While driving 45miles an hour the a/c shut off and the speed was replaced by an error that showed that the a/c was shutting down due to enginee levels. However the level was not high. The check enginee light came on. I took the car into the dealership however they are unable to pin point the problem or determine the code for the light. The vehicle will not pass inspection and therefore I am unable to drive the vehicle.
In may of 2013, our 2012 chevy Cruze air conditioner stopped flowing cold air and would blow only hot air. After being diagnosed by dealer gm mechanic it was found that the condenser had been hit by foreign material (rock) creating a hole in the condenser and letting all of the freon out. It cost about $600-700 to fix. On my own I found that there were numerous other reports of condensers being damaged by rocks, and that through a gm technical service bulletin (TSB pi0461b) issued in the summer of 2012 the proper repair for this was replacing the condenser and installing a condenser protective screen. Since the TSB includes adding a protective screen as a design modification it is apparent that gm/chevy acknowledges that there is a design defect in the Cruze, and that the placement of the condenser makes it susceptible to damage from rocks. This was the point that I attempted to argue with gm with no avail, that since this defect was identified prior to my purchase of the car, they should be responsible. Although, I was unsuccessful in getting gm to take responsibility for their product, I hope to help anyone that is thinking about buying a Cruze or has a Cruze still under warranty. For those of you with Cruzes still under factory warranty and have a damaged condenser make sure they install the condenser screen. For prospective buyers I would advise you to insist that your Cruze have the condenser screen installed prior to purchase.

The vehicle surges when foot is on the break & it is becoming a struggle to keep in brake mode. Feels as if car is going to take off. Also, when defrost is on, it will turn itself off with warning flashing 'a/c off due to high engine temp' air conditioning is not even on. . . The heat is. This is an ongoing issue that gm cannot seem to find what the problem is.

I am very angry that Chevrolet has been allowed to greenlight hacksawing the chevy Cruze's engine guard as an acceptable fix to their safety recall. My husband and I are very uncomfortable with allowing our dealership to sawzall the engine guard apart. We are more concerned about the safety of our vehicle after this procedure is done than not having it done at all. Chevy forums are lodging complaints of increased noise, trouble with control as wind goes into the open engine compartment, and the engine compartment being left open to the elements. Chevy should have to provide an acceptable re-design of the engine guard, and fix their mistake. Why hasn't the NHTSA pressured them to take this seriously and come up with a solution that does not hurt chevy Cruze owners?.
The floor mats do not stay in place and slide up under the pedals. There are retaining pins, but these do not work due to poor design.
The driver's side floor mats on our 2011 chevy Cruze are supposed to attach to two rubber pins on the floor carpet. However, the attaching mechanism does not work and the floor mats are easily pushed forward and begin bunching up underneath the gas and break pedals. This is a dangerous situation. I am looking at temporarily replacing the mats with a heavier rubbermaid mat. Chevy needs to fix this problem immediately.
