Air Conditioner Problems of Chevrolet Cruze

I bought this Chevrolet Cruze new in July 2017. From new, after you drive the car for approximately 15 minutes with the air conditioner on, there is a chemical smell coming from the vents. It lasts about 5 minutes but may come back with a longer drive. It is a very unpleasant smell. I took it two dealers and have worked with gm. Gm admits there is a problem and have released pit5726 describing the exact problem I am having, but they do not have a solution to offer me. I am concerned about inhaling this chemical smell.

My car continuously loses coolant in a short amount of time. It begins to smoke and the engine overheats. This happened while I was making a 30 minute trip across town. I was on a city street not exceeding more than 50 mph. I had the air conditioning on and I had all of my fluids filled a few days prior.

While driving, a sudden onset of dangerously strong smelling vapor / fumes expelled through the ventilation system causing adverse reaction to driver and passengers. Happens while heat is on, but does not happen when air conditioning is used.

I have had work down on the air conditioner in this automobile three (3) times. The chevy Cruze is the worse car every made.

Air conditioning is not working correctly. It blows well but will not cool. I can feel some coolness out of passenger side but driver side is hot air. If you turn the fan knob to low then both sides will cool but it is not enough to cool anything. Have had it checked and there is plenty of coolant. It started July of 2016 so I drove it very little it is much worse this summer July of 2017. Its the same result driving or stationary. In the early morning if it's cool outside it does get cooler but as the day gets warmer so does the air coming out of the air conditioning vents.

This incident with my Chevrolet Cruze has happened on more than one occasion in the same month. I will be driving, coming to a stop and the whole car will turn off on me. The air conditioning shuts off, radio, the whole car powers down. I put the car into park, turn off the car, wait a few minutes and turn the car back on. Praying that me and my two year old don't get into an accident throughout the incident.

The contact owns a 2013 Chevrolet Cruze. The contact received a warranty letter from the manufacturer for the battery connections. The vehicle was repaired, but the air conditioning failed. The dealer could not determine the cause of the failure. The failure mileage was 35,000.

When the speed of the car starts to reach 50 miles a high pitch sound occurs. I cannot determined if it is related to when air conditioner is turned on. The noise will diminish when speed is lowered to about 45 miles. I cannot recall if this happens in the colder months but it does seem to happen in the summer.

When a/c is on it blowes cold air on the windshield out of the defroster vents and foggs up the windshield ubstructing vision. It can not be shut off by any controals. Took car back to dealer,they said factory has no fix for the problem. I have to use windshield wipers to wipe off the condensation off the glass so I can see at night.

When starting my car from any stationary position, 0 mph (flat parking, on a hill or at an angle) the starter will engage and continue to run and run without starting the engine. In order to start the car, I have to turn off the ignition and try again. The second time the car will start (so far). Also, when I use the air conditioner (car in motion, any speed 0-65mph, on city streets and on highways) there is a coolant smell that comes out or the vents. It is a strong smell and I cannot figure out a pattern for when it happens. It happens when I have the car running, sometimes when I first turn on the air conditioner and them it will happen randomly as I am driving and the air conditioner has been on for a while. I have never tried to see if it happens when I don't have the engine running (don't know if the air conditioner can run without the engine running).

The contact owns a 2011 Chevrolet Cruze. The contact stated that while driving approximately 65 mph, the transmission failed to shift and there was an illumination of the engine warning indicator. The vehicle was towed to an authorized dealer for diagnosis, where the technician replaced the faulty transmission. In addition, the driver's side rear view mirror would emit a loud whistling noise whenever the vehicle was in motion. The dealer was in the process of replacing the mirror. There was also a large hole in the air conditioner compressor, which required replacement. The contact also stated that the exterior body paint was peeling near the front passenger side headlight. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was 64.
