The check stabilitrak light and engine light comes on it loses engine power wont go over 3mph . It has happened while driving down the road at 55mph on a busy hwy. Also my radio screen that controls the backup camera and other settings has went black. I had a mechanic run diagnostics on it and 33 different codes popped up so they told me more than likely it's an ecm issue and it has to be repaired at the dealership.

I was 3 feet from turning left at intersection left lane turn (light had just turned green) through a intersection, when I noticed my engine was off. I rolled across the intersection; attempted to restart the car - car didn't start. The electricity in car was still on and normal. Coolant was at normal temp. Only radio was on low volume. No dashboard lights- nor messages appeared. Car wouldn't restart. Was stuck halfway in right (oncoming traffic) turn lane & half in business driveway. Put car in park & tried to turn on again. Nothing. Steering, brakes, lights and doors were functional. Got help to push car in a parking space. Turned off car completely & attempted to turn on. Car cranked & almost started. Tried again - nothing. Turned off & removed keys to get out of car to look under hood. All looked normal. Got back inside car, attempted to start. It came on for 5 seconds then died. Waited. No dashboard lights nor error messages. Finally got car to crank and it stayed on. No error messages. Went trough car screen and voltage was normal 13 +/- volts; idle was normal - did not move around. Left business when message said about having antilock breaks checked but has not appeared on car screen since (didn't press breaks before it died. I prefer engine breaking). Received email from onstar that "an issue with the stabilitrak stability control system in your 2018 Chevrolet Cruze has been detected. Please service your vehicle within 7 days. & an issue with the antilock braking system in your 2018 Chevrolet Cruze has been detected". I was almost hit by a truck while stuck half way in street. Called and complained to gm. Gm rep said I am past warranty by 9,000 miles (car is 1. 5 yrs old). They cant help. Told me to go to dealership. Called 4 dealerships, no techs on saturdays and no loaners since out of warranty. No error codes still. No lights lit up. Car is acting normal.

The radio freezes up while I am driving. None of the radio buttons function. I cannot turn the radio off, change channel, adjust volume, etc. I just had the special coverage repair done for the water intrusion on the side detection system. The radio worked perfectly fine before the special coverage work was performed. I went back to the dealer and they indicated that it is not related to the water intrusion and it would be $120 just to connect the computer to the car. He told me if it is the radio, you will have to pay for it out of pocket. I saw a new special coverage bulletin about the negative battery cable clamp not being able to remain tight to the battery terminal on the internet. I need to know if it applies to my 2014 chevy Cruze because I did not receive any information by mail on this. Thank you .

I own a 2016 chevy Cruze limited edition with less than 40,000 miles and my radio has stopped working. The display screen and phone charger are all connected to the radio so none of them are currently working. I have an extended warranty however the radio is not covered. My biggest issue is this should be covered under the 5yr warranty on the car. I was told by the dealership that to replace it would cost $1206. 34. Even though once you get use to this feature you miss it when it's not working however this does not have any bearing on running the car however the cost would make you think it does. I think gm/Chevrolet should stand behind their product and replace the replace the radio. The car is only a 2016 and I have owned 4 Chevrolet cars and have never had this type of issue. I'm not happy about this is issue and would like a better resolution.

The problem involves the auto stop/start feature on my car. When my car is in drive, the brake petal is depressed, and comes to a complete stop, said feature will engage and shut the engine off. The anomaly occurs when the brake petal is released and the engine is suppose to reignite; however, my car's engine will not come back on. Instead the check engine light will illuminate, and the engine will turn to an idle state. During this state, the electronics (radio, screen display, and instrument panel) still work, but the car will not accelerate. To correct the problem, the car must be put in park and key must turned again to start the ignition. The rate at which the problem occurs seems to be sporadic. It has occurred as often as three separate times in ten minutes, and it has gone as long as two weeks without before the next incident. The last time the issue occurred, I was situated on an incline stopped at a traffic light. When my foot released the brake petal and the car malfunctioned, my car proceeded to roll backwards down the incline and almost collided with the car behind me. I brake before this happened. I promptly took my car to the same certified Chevrolet dealership for the third time for this exact same issue. The dealership has been unable to diagnose the problem and has been unsuccessful in recreating the issue; however, the cars fault reporting system has produced error codes as evidence that a problem exists. I have opened a case with Chevrolet's customer service center to receive further help. I was directed to get a rental car from enterprise, and I was told the cost would be reimbursed for up to three days. Later that day I rent a car. My case was elevated to a higher status because of the safety concern. Two days later, I recieved a call from a senior adviser stating that my rental car cost would not be reimbursed.
Had started noticing that when I would start my car my radio would sometimes take a long time to come on. Eventually woke up one day to start my car and it would not start. This should not be happening because the battery is not even a year old. Used my portable jumper to charger and took it to get read and it was not the battery. I was told that there was an electrical drain that was still charging my battery even after it was turned off. The second issue is when I am driving and go to give the car gas and the car would not immediately accelerate causing to me to almost be hit twice. I had to give it gas a second time in order for it to accelerate.
Nhtsa is number 11193552 I have the same problem as this customer to the t. The cars radio will shut off while driving after I take they key out while parked the key fob will not lock the car and then if put into the ingishon it will eat the key and lock up . This is a common problem that needs to be looked into there shouldn't be a youtube video with 50k views on how to get your car key out of the ingishon after the elitrical problems. Please fully read NHTSA number 11193552 report as it is the most detailed and reliable source of info for this problem . It happens more often then once so the date when this happend will be the latest accornce of this.
The car first started having issues with switching gears. Going into and out of drive specifically. Wouldn't even budge. Dealership said it must be something sticky spilled in gears. Have had no spills in that area. Soon after this visit my car would turn off in stop and go traffic. Dealership said they couldn't replicate the issue so they couldn't tell me what it was. Now, not much later than the last visit, my car is shutting off on the interstate, every light inside car (door open lights, radio lights, a/c lights, dash lights) are dimming and brightening or turning on and off on their own, windows roll up and down on their own, a/c shuts on and off or will change vents on its own, burglar system detection goes off when trying to start the car, and car won't start after being off for 20-30 minutes without a jump. Three different places have used battery and code readers and cannot find an issue. My battery, starter, and alternator are in great condition. Every place except the dealership has told me it's a "major electrical issue that needs to be fixed ASAP. " car is still under warranty. Has had all work aside from the readings done at dealership. They say they can't find out the issue. This is the third time within 4 months that my car issues have been avoided by the dealership and I have been told they can't replicate what I'm dealing with when they test drive it so they can't help me. It is a danger to me and any other driver around me when my car suddenly shuts off at 70 mph and I have to try to pull over to park my car to try to start it again. Clicking and zapping sounds can also be heard from under or behind my engine that should not be there. Was told at the dealership if they can't figure it out they would have to send me home with my vehicle. . . Still doing all these things. I have been the only owner and driver, under 20k miles on vehicle, no mods added.
The chevy eco Cruze has been giving me problems from the start. I was driving with the ac on and came to a signal light when the ac shuts of & comes back on. Also at the signal light I thaught I had gotten a tap from the back from another vehicle because the car jerked. Turned out no car behind me but car still jerks forward with foot all the way down on brake pedal. Next if I'm driving and slow down to make, let's say a left hand turn once I make the turn the car is sluggish as if it has trouble picking up speed. Happens all the time from a stopped position or if I slow down it takes for ever to pick up momentum. Making it scarey to merge or just be on the road. Also if I turn the radio up the lights will die or fade so I've replaced the alternator but it still does it. Ive checked connections wires you name it.

The vehicle's radio flashes on and off and a 'service stabilitrak' warning comes on the odometer screen. I have read this causes serious issues with others that have had the same problem and there is no known fix.
My car has recently started to have the radio to turn on and off randomly. Sometimes more so when I push my brakes. Also occasionally get a service stabilltrak warning that flashes and goes away. From what I can read online, others have this problem with no solution. Some situations have gotten bad and I want to avoid that at all costs and get this fixed, or figure out if I have to trade it in and get a new vehicle.
Vehicle has been popping up service stabil trak - however dealership and onstar has ran diagnostics no codes populate- have experience radio shutting off and losing control of vehicle - there has been several articles about this issue with 2011-2015 chevy Cruze. Afraid whatever this issue is will cause harm to other people this is not a single person issue everyone with this model is complaining about the service stabil trak this needs to be look into. Driving in motion turning corner losing control of steering for a brief second - power radios shutting off and dashboard blinks with all lights. This car is at 67k miles.
While driving & in stopped position at light the radio will intermittently turn off & back on at any given moment. I just purchased the vehicle not even 1 1/2 mos. Ago. This has been happening approximately once or twice every week for about 4 weeks now. I have tried to look for some solution to this & have researched but there had been vague information or no answer at all . I have noticed that it has been an ongoing situation that had been indicated in here but has there's been any resolution to the matter? I don't think I should have to be concerned with this whole either driving or at a stop light that the electrical system will go out, if any at all. I hope some kind of resolution or recall will be done for this, too me, a major problem.
I was pulling out of a parking lot turning right to cross 3 lanes on a 6 lane road. My car had been parked for at least 20 minutes while I was in the store and I had just started it within 2 minutes of this happening. I was driving about 15-20 mph. When I needed to veer right my steering wheel would not move. I had to slam on the brakes after going onto the narrow center median and nearly going over into oncoming traffic. My car had completely shut off which had disabled the power steering. As soon as I realized what had happened the power came back on and I was able to drive off. I immediately went to the dealership. The mechanics said they had never heard of this before and advised me to come back the next morning as it was later in the evening and the main mechanics had gone home. There were no indicator lights on when this occurred. I realized at the dealership that on the dashboard there was a message to roll my driver window down and back up. The service adviser told me this was to reset or reprogram the vehicle since it had shut down. They did have me open the hood to see if any wires appeared to be loose. However, they mechanic indicated that everything looked brand new, the engine was clean and in pristine condition, and he noted that all of the number on the parts were still visible. I left and had to go to the store. While parked, and on the phone, again via bluetooth, explaining to my mother what had happened, my radio completely shut off. Two times in prior weeks my radio had shut off while driving. All of these instances only lasted a few seconds. I have had this car for only 1 month. There was one previous driver and there are only 32,000 miles on it. The car is at the dealership now, so I have no indication of the issue at this time. I do not feel safe driving in this car knowing that it could turn off at any moment potentially causing an accident.
Since owning my new 2015 Cruze I have had several concerns which have not been addressed of fixed by the technicians the list while traveling down the road my radio system has blacked out; shut off and restarted itself; it happens every other time I am in the car, sometime it happens several time on a long drive. I have also experience drifting of the car when traveling down the highway; when I correct the drift the steering wheel is stiff and causes an over correction pulling me the other direction. The biggest concern I have experience lately is the loud high pitched noise coming from under the hood; this occurs after I have parked the car and removed the key; one time I could hear the coolant lines gurgling. Very scary not knowing what is going on under there.
Possible electrical problems. Dash board randomly lights up; radio has gone completely off; steering wheel difficult to turn; security lock out engaged once; traction control came on and hard to steer and several occasions. This incidents are happening randomly and had near miss on highway not expecting the steering to lock up or become extremely difficult. This has happened over last several months. Independent car repair shop could not find anything, but still happens.

The chrome plating on both the front driver and passenger interior door handles started to peel off which created sharp edges on the handles in which I and others have cut ourselves on. I had to chip some of the chrome plating off and wrap the handles with tape to prevent myself and my kids from getting cut on the peeling chrome finish.
The aux signal come on over the radio I can't listen to the radio and every now and again the onstar lady comes on without anyone pushing a button I turned off the blue tooth as well. Also every 2-3 months my car battery dies without cause every light is off this occurs when the radio starts acting out more frequently this has happened since I bought the car and the dealer couldn't figure it out either so I had to buy a battery charger because I never know when my battery will die. I even changed the battery this year n still it dies without cause.
For the whole month the red warning lights have been flashing, today the lights were dimming and radio was going on and off. The steering wheel locked on its own and the key wouldn't come out when tried to remove and the truck wouldn't pop up when tried to open it from the outside. Vehicle is not cranking at moment and key is still in ignition. This is a serious safety problem or issue. Electrical problem hazard that could kill any driver or passengers when driving. Has to be as major safety recall. Contact the owner as soon as possible at 334-368-4373 this is my daughter latoria womack cell number and I am her dad ronnal womack at 843-870-2625. Purchased car new for my daughter going to college. Car has been good but she called me that she started her car in a parking lot and she had a stabilitrac light, power steering, and tones going off. She was scared but I called a repair shop and they suggested to turn off and on. She did this and all but stabilitrac went off. She drove to take to dealer. She stopped to get gas and when turned car back on, all lights stopped. She drove car home and took to local repair. He said he could not find issue. A week later, she was driving on the interstate and the lights came on again. She video taped the lights. She pulled off and turned car off and then on and everything was reset. We are concerned that error cant be tracted but continues to be issue.
When the car first started messing up it was minor things I noticed: the in dash lighter not working, trunk latch doesn't work except by key, turn signals would glitch, can't use usb & audio cord at same time without it cutting off both completely. Then a couple weeks later I noticed my car had an unusual delay in increasing speed it was as if I had to push it to the floor just to get to 30 mph. Now the most recent event occurred on 9/17/15 which is what's prompting me to file this complaint (keep in mind I've only owned the vehicle for 8 months, purchased at 54k miles currently has 70. 9k) I drove to my house approx 30 min hwy from where I was I got into my car the next morning it didn't start at all. My bf checked the battery voltage & it was too dead to test, with a jumper box my car took approx10 min to even turn over, during the time of me inside the car attempting to start it my steering column locked up, lights in dash, radio system, headlights everything flashing on and off, key was stuck inside ignition, a foul smell & clicking noise is coming from engine, & couldn't lock doors once I turned car off immediately. This all occurred I'd say within a matter of 30 seconds after the car to turned over. Was so freaked out I didn't try to start again for 2-3 min and once I did it started right up. Within 72 hrs I have now seen the stabilitrac service alert, theft alert system needs serviced, along w/ air bags, & battery light flickers on & off. The clicking under my hood has continued, the rotten egg smell from engine comes & goes, dash lights go dim then go back to regular. Drove to o'reillys, they were able to tell me I now have a bad alternator as well. Recall 14801 was issued for reprogram engine control module, getting serviced this week at dealership but could this possibly cause all this?? especially considering I don't want to be responsible for repairs. Help.
While driving the lights in the radio began to flash on and off and radio would also come on and off, the windows became stuck while trying to roll them up, lights would go on and off as well.
Coming to stop light doing only 15 mph from where I was coming from and all electrical went down. The radio was still on but couldn't : turn up/down music, use any controls on steering wheel, the infotainment screen was black. Had to turn the car off at a stop light and it didn't want to start until I did it twice. After that it was fine and hasn't done it since- but now I see others are having same issues. Also, notice the lights inside do sometimes get brighter then duller on their own- everything including the dashboard and infotainment center. Car also does have an odor with the heat on.
The front chrome interior door handles on my 2011 chevy Cruze that I purchased is peeling off. The edges of the chrome are extremely sharp. Both my wife and I have cut our fingers on both front door handles while exiting the vehicle. It is no paper cut either. Pretty deep and painful. I ended up placing tape around the handles as a quick fix from being cut. When I contacted the dealership, I was told it would be $150 for a new handle and that it did not include instillation. After reading numerous complaints online and observing a copy of a letter from Chevrolet admitting there is a defect in the handles, I wonder why there has not been a recall as of yet on this issue.
The cars radio and other electrical components (ex. On-star, phone chargers, usb products) will turn on and off at random. It occurs randomly and intermittently. This has happened a number of occasions roughly 15-20 times over a couple of months. It mainly happens at a red light and then will turn back on once I accelerate. This has happened on a highway going 60-70mph and the every light on the dashboard went on and on the display screen it stated stablitrax is off. Immediately pressed my onstar button and asked them to run diagnosis and the whole conversation was going in and out of being able to hear them. My radio was going on and off the entire time when the radio was on I could hear when it was off and all power was off. We did loss connection to onstar and I repressed the button. I have had them run their "diagnosis" multiple times when this happens and they never have anything come up wrong. They advised me to tale the dealer. I have been to the dealer where they advised me that unless it was happening at that time it would pretty much be impossible to figure out the problem. I have heard some clicking or switching sounds come from under the hood while I have been driving occasionally not sure if and my engine temp always runs cold not sure if either of those relate. It would be nice to feel safe in my new car and it would be nice to be paying for onstar and not have a doubt they would be reachable if this causes a bigger problem! be safe fellow chevy Cruze drivers!.
This incident has happened on numerous occasions and was taken to the dealership three different times to address the issue. . . The problem is still occurring and nothing is resolved. Radio would turn on/off and dashboard lights kept flickering, service traction control and service stability trak would pop up along with the engine light and traction control light and the vehicle turned on/off. Engine would sound really loud at times, even after the car was turned off (maybe it was the engine fan but I'm not sure). . . This car is nothing but problems after problems and they are not getting resolved because they keep reoccurring.
