1 Recreational Vehicle Lpg Tank Valve/gauge problem of the 2016 Chevrolet Cruze

Failure Date: 08/28/2019

The driver information center, speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge, temp gauge, and touchscreen display quit working this morning on our '16 Cruze. Car starts and runs fine but know way of knowing our speed or what gear it's in. Persists through battery disconnect.

2 Recreational Vehicle Lpg Tank Valve/gauge problem of the 2017 Chevrolet Cruze

Failure Date: 07/13/2019

Digital gauge cluster eventually shorts due to factory-installed wiring being too short. Needs a special wiring harness to lengthen the wires to prevent premature wear. Affects everything from the radio, to critical vehicle information such as mileage, fuel level, current speed, rpms, etc. This issue can occur at any time. In my particular case, the vehicle was operating fine in the morning, was shut off, and then no longer functioning in the afternoon upon starting up again.

3 Recreational Vehicle Lpg Tank Valve/gauge problem of the 2012 Chevrolet Cruze

Failure Date: 05/01/2019

5/1/2019 my radio started going on and off while driving home then on 5/2/2019 it started blinking "stalibitrak" on my gauge panel along with the radio going on and off. Is this something I need to be concerned with as my car is no longer under warranty and I'm not raking in the dough to have this on my plate along with the other issues with the car. I've only had this car for a year and a half.

5 Recreational Vehicle Lpg Tank Valve/gauge problem of the 2016 Chevrolet Cruze

Failure Date: 07/20/2018

I will start with this has happened twice. I no longer feel safe in my car, but the mechanic cannot figure out what is wrong. My car got stuck at 3,000 rpms while driving in traffic. When I put my foot on the break the car would not come to a stop it kept bucking bucking forward with the engine roaring. I tried putting the car in neutral and that didn't do anything. I finally put the car in park and the car finally stopped moving, but was still revving at 3,000 rpms. I finally had to turn the car off. Once I turned the car back on the guages were were swiping back and forth and then finally I heard a loud clunk and then the gauges went back to normal and the car was okay. I did check to make sure the gas pedal wasn't stuck I pulled it up with my foot, but it was up all the way so the I know the gas pedal was not stuck. This happened during rush hour traffic twice. I fear next time I will not be so lucky. I'm 21 weeks pregnant and I have an 11 year child that drives often with me. This is not safe someone has to do something.

Failure Date: 04/27/2017

Steering rod issue, steering wheel feels loose while driving especially when on the highway over 50 mph . Several issues with coolant/ car overheating/ overheated and gauge flew rapidly to hot, driving about 40 mph and had to pull over and turn off car - call tow truck. This happened twice, supposedly fixed but still smells of burning oil. Drive side windshield stopped working while driving about 65 mph on busy highway -possible problem with the motor because the other one works fine. All very dangerous issues.

9 Recreational Vehicle Lpg Tank Valve/gauge problem of the 2011 Chevrolet Cruze

Failure Date: 12/05/2015

On 12-5-15 I was on my way to CT from mass and was on 91. About 45 minutes into the trip the car began to loose power and the check engine light came on and the service stablitrack light came on. As soon as the light came on the temperature gauge and rpm gauge would fling up and down quickly! I immediately went from 65 mph to 30 mph. ( I was almost rear ended by a car behind me) I coasted my way to the right lane and was able to get off the exit. The car took about 4 hours to go back to normal. ( I returned to mass, I had to take the back way home and avoid the highway as the car still had reduce speed) the car will return to normal and the check engine light will go off. Everyday now the check engine light will come on and it will say service stablitrack. The car immediately looses power and you can hear the engine (sounds like a fan blowing hard) the transmission will not shift. The rpm will jump to 4-5 while only getting to a speed of 35 mph. The dealer has no idea what I am talking about. This car was bought in January of 2015 and has less than 65,000 miles on it. I have read a few complaints about this similar situation happening to the same car I have. This is a safety issue!!! the car has been serviced on time!!! please help me!! I refuse to take the highway as I never know when this is going to happen. . . . .

10 Recreational Vehicle Lpg Tank Valve/gauge problem of the 2011 Chevrolet Cruze

Failure Date: 10/22/2015

When the cabin heating system is activated in cool/cold weather. (the temp setting indicator to max heat and the car engine is at the normal operating range). There is a burnt rubber smell or exhaust smell that comes out of the ventilation system. The dealer has been unable to find the cause. The smell will go away if the temp setting is reduce to the cold side of the scale (ie the blue line and not the red line). I have read of other complaints about this same issue but did not find it on this site. In the worst case this may be CO leaking into the cabin or it could be related to some rubber like component off-gasing because of the hot air. This happens when the car is moving or standing still, but the engine must be in the normal operating temp range as shown on the temp gauge. This has occur every year since I bought the car.

11 Recreational Vehicle Lpg Tank Valve/gauge problem of the 2013 Chevrolet Cruze

Failure Date: 05/06/2014

Faulty thermostat. Fan starts running shortly after driving, temperature gauge does not register a temperature, coolant good, radiator good, oil good. Short distance later, receive a message "a/c off due to high engine temp". Called my dealership and they informed me that they replace thermostats in Cruze vehicles all of the time due to this problem.

12 Recreational Vehicle Lpg Tank Valve/gauge problem of the 2011 Chevrolet Cruze

Failure Date: 10/01/2013

Problem started close to winter,October 2013. Coolant level slowly decreased, not concerned at the time, just topped off during oil changes. Fast forward to April 2014, refill of coolant needed daily if heat is used. Coolant tank is completely empty after car is off and sitting for a few hours! large puddle of coolant under engine, not the radiator. Remains to be a slow leak. When heat is on, coolant begins to slowly leak underneath engine. Temp gauge is always normal. No signs of overheating, no excess coolant in engine bay. All routine maintenance completed by Chevrolet dealerships. Dex (gm specific coolant, orange in color) coolant used exclusively. Every time heat is turn on, at any temp, at any fan speed, at any setting (defrost, floor, etc. ) there is a strong odor of burning/hot coolant. I am unable to put my children in vehicle!, when heat is needed in vehicle. Odor is too strong and children complained of nausea and lightheadedness. To many instances similar to this listed. Gm needs to provide resolution.

13 Recreational Vehicle Lpg Tank Valve/gauge problem of the 2013 Chevrolet Cruze

Failure Date: 01/13/2013

I could smell coolant/antifreeze when the heater was on and the temperature was set to a high setting. I didn't think anything was wrong, just thought it might be a break-in issue. As of today's date Nov 9, 2014 I still can smell the coolant smell when the heater is on. Recently I received a letter from gm concerning possible coolant loss. At my last service of the vehicle I asked the dealer to check for this problem. Nothing was reported to me from the dealer. I assumed that there was no problem. The other issue I have noticed is dash lights dimming or brightening on their own. The latest problem was that the car would not start this morning. Drove perfectly yesterday, this morning dead. Jumped the car and everything seems fine. Making an appointment with the dealer. Noticed that the coolant level is about 3 inches low in over flow tank. Looked on the internet about Cruze cars and found many posts about electrical problems. Gm tells them all that they are not aware of any electrical problems but you tube videos show gauges and radios cutting out when driving. Some videos describe cars shutting down when driving and not restarting. Others have service messages appearing on the information screen and the dealers find nothing wrong. It is starting to sound like the infamous Jeep grand cherokee electrical problems. I am seriously thinking it is time to get rid of my 2013 cruse as the factory warranty will expire soon. Current mileage is 27490 on Nov 9, 2014.

14 Recreational Vehicle Lpg Tank Valve/gauge problem of the 2012 Chevrolet Cruze

Failure Date: 10/01/2012

I just want to start off by saying we purchased this car brand new from kocourek Chevrolet in wausau, WI. Dec 2012 or Jan 2013 bumper fell off within 3 months of purchase while driving. Yes, fell off. The dealership where we purchased the car hesitantly replaced it as the clips were broke off. Dec 2012 trunk button does not work properly - has been replaced multiple times (by kocourek). And not it has recently once it opens, it will not close despite being slammed shut 8 to 10 times. Oct 2012 had an antifreeze leak from day one - dealership tells us they can't find anything even when pointed out. I go though a gallon of dexos antifreeze every 2 weeks. But as the dealership says, that's fine and normal. . . . Um. . . Not to me!!!! Jan 2018 - the car stalls out constantly - reduced engine power, while driving on the highway, in the city or even just parked in the driveway. I have been very nearly rear ended multiple times because of this. We have yet to find the source of this. Jan 2018 codes for throttle position sensor issues even though it has been replaced multiple times. Still can't find the source of this. Dec 2018 after being started, the car will shut itself off or die off. Still cant find the source. Aug 2018 recently, the car has dash warnings that state "ac off due to high engine temp" even when it is 30 degrees out. The temp gauge will also drop to cold. We have also changed the thermostat multiple times as well. This car is beyond a lemon. We have had issues with this car from day 1. And what is more ridiculous is that the dealership will not stand behind it. I have service records documenting the complaints of the issues and the dealership "not finding anything wrong" or "unable to duplicate issues". We have given up with chevy and also with kocourek Chevrolet in wausau. These issues have been ongoing since we purchased the car September 2012.
