Driving down a road on the Friday morning. When a deer popped up in front of me. I hit the deer on cruise control going 70 mph; but was hard braking to avoid the deer. The vehicle clipped the deer on the front left side of the car by the hood. The airbags did not deploy, meaning it wasn't even a big impact. So I pulled over to call authorities when the car began to smoke. Shortly after, estimated two minutes, the vehicle caught fire. The fire begin on the front left side of where the battery was located. It completely burned down the car. Not sure how hitting a deer, would not set off the air bags and also start a fire. Luckily I was able to make it out with no injuries.

I was driving home and hit an 8 point buck that weighed about 180lbs head on that caused damage from the middle front center of the car extending to the drivers side of the car and smashing up into the motor. The instrument panel immediately illuminated to service airbag but the airbag never deployed. I was told if I was going slower, the deer would have went through the windshield. I could have been seriously hurt since the airbag didn't deploy. I bought this car brand new with only 17 miles on it. I have driven it for 2 years and now have to wonder if my family and I were put at risk for the last two years, while traveling to ohio, from iowa and out to boise 3 times. Of course I will be told there is nothing wrong and the car will be repaired, and I will be forced to continue driving a car that I won't really feel safe in because I won't know for sure if the airbag system is fixed, and will work right if this unfortunately will ever happen again. Somehow this will be pushed under the rug and there will be nothing I can do about it.
Airbags front and side failed to deploy in a t-bone type crash approx traveling 40 mph, causing 12k worth of damage to the vehicle, the front wheel fell off and broke the front tie rod & axel, and no airbags deployed.
I was driving and was turning east at the light when a car was coming towards me. I noticed the care was not stopping and hit the passenger side of my car. The airbags did not deploy from the passenger side to which my younger brother was sitting. I checked online to see if there were side airbags before I wrote this information. . . Updated 10/07/14.
Hit a deer head-on going approixately 50 mph causing severe damage to the front end of the vehicle. Air bags never deployed, but could smell the air bags and hear them in the steering wheel making noise. The crash was enough that on star was alerted of the crash and called 911.

A vehicle pulled out of a parking lot in front of me and when trying to brake, the brakes locked up and at impact of the head on collision my air bags did not deploy!.
The passenger sensor in the airbag system is defective and gm is refusing to cover the cost saying it is not covered under the powertrain warranty. This will cause the airbag system on the passenger side to not deploy in the event of a crash. Gm is saying it will cost $400 to fix which I think is ridiculous. The car has never had an accident and an airbag has never been deployed. I think safety systems such as airbags that have no means of wear and tear other than deployment should be mandated by the federal government to be covered under an extended warranty period of 10 years or 100,000 miles. Airbags are a safety measure required by the federal government and therefore should be required to be of good workmanship and in good working order for a period much longer than 3 years. To charge the consumer $400 to fix something that should not fail is a disgrace. Thank you for your time in reading my concern. I would appreciate a follow up to this inquiry.
The contact owns a 2013 Chevrolet Cruze. The contact stated that while driving 30 mph, he crashed into a stopped vehicle and the air bags did not deploy. The driver was traveling on a two lane highway in baldwin county, alabama, when she approached a right hand curve (which the driver was fully aware of). Driver applied brakes so as to slow down to negotiate this curve, but when the driver applied the brakes, they did not respond. Additionally, the vehicle appeared to lose power steering function. It appeared that the vehicle lost power, similar in nature to the most recent ignition defects on other gm vehicles. Due to loss of braking ability, the vehicle went straight off roadway and crashed causing significant personal injury to the driver. Further, the airbag did not deploy. We contacted gm, and agreed to allow gm representatives investigate the incident by downloading the esis information, with the agreement that gm would provide the owner with the results of said investigation in a readily understandable format. After downloading the information, gm denied any liability for the incident, and refused to provide the owner with the results of its investigation in a format that was readily understandable. The vehicle was recently purchased new, and had no prior issues.

I pruchased a 2013 chevy Cruze in June, 2013. In November of the same year, I struck a deer on a rural stretch of interstate highway at high speed (70mph). At this point there were roughly 9,000 miles on it. The air bags did not deploy, but I was unharmed. The impact caused the vehicle to do a 180 degree roll onto the shoulder, at which point I exited the vehicle to see the area near the battery smoking with a small flame coming out of it. Within minutes, and before emergency vehicles could arrive the front of the car was fully engulfed in flames.

Front passenger air bag "off light" comes on intermittently on my 2011 Cruze when an adult is sitting in the front passenger seat -- indicating the air bag system is off. I've taken it to my gm dealership twice and both times they say that everything checks out ok and there is nothing they can do. The car air bags have never been deployed. There is a flaw with this safety system and gm should step forward and come up with a fix.
Consumer stated Chevrolet Cruze caused an accident, could not stop. It crashed into a Ford expedition. The consumer also stated the air bag did not deploy.
Tl- the contact owns a 2012 Chevrolet Cruze. The contact stated that while driving approximately 45 mph and pressing the fuel pedal the vehicle would not accelerate. Also, while slowing down and stopping at a stop light the transmission would not shift down to first gear and would remain in 3rd gear, causing the vehicle to not properly accelerate from a standing start. The contact indicated that while the transmission was in the manual mode the while driving down a hill in first gear the transmission would erroneously shift to 2nd gear. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who replaced a computer module which corrected the gear shifting problem but the acceleration problems continued. No further information was available. The contact also stated that in August 2014 while driving approximately 30 mph a second vehicle crashed into the front passenger side of the vehicle and during the crash the airbags did not deploy. Both the driver and front passenger suffered head and neck injuries. A police report was taken at the seen. No additional information was available. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The failure mileage was 100. Jft.
I was involved in a collision on may 5, 2012 in which I collided into the side of another vehicle with the front end of my car. My car is brand new, less than a month old however, the seat belts did not hold and the air bags did not deploy during the crash. I was traveling at approximately 30-35 mph at the time of the crash. The collision was bad enough that my car was no longer drivable after the collision. I just bought this car which is a 2012 Chevrolet Cruze and am now afraid to keep it not knowing why the safety equipment didn't work. Also, I had activated my "on star" service but that didn't work either. I would like for someone to inspect my car before the repairs are started. Please let me know where to go from here.
The contact owns a 2011 Chevrolet Cruze. The contact was involved in a crash where the vehicle rear ended another vehicle and went into a ditch. The contact stated that they could smell the powder from the air bags although they did not deploy. An onstar representative called and stated that they received a message stating that the air bags deployed. The vehicle was towed to a repair shop where it would be inspected by the manufacturer to determine why the air bags did not deploy. The current and failure mileages were 7,000.
