Car shuts off abruptly when stopped or at times when speed is decreased to almost parked. This typically happens at red lights or when car is going under 10 mpg. It's happened in bumper-to-bumper traffic. I have to put it in park and restart the push start. This has been going since last summer (2019) or so.

Not sure what's wrong. I've fixed things already like mass flow sensor, air filter, motor mounts a valve leak. Cars been in and out of the mechanics for months. Cars engine shut off 2-3 times while driving with my daughter in the car!!!!!. Another time it turned off right after I started it up. The car is unsafe!!!!!! I've had it had 2-3 different mechanics. And the chevy dealership. The car never turns off for anyone but me. This past weekend I was attempting to pick up my car from one shop to take to another and it wouldn't start. This shop had the car for a week and a half and it never turned off until I went to pick it up. Now they still can't find what's causing the problem. I've spent 2 grand in labor and tows in just the last 3-4 months. I can't keep doing this!!!!!! someone please help me figure this out!!!!!!.

When driving the car flickers the radio in and out and then the radio gos completely out and service stability tracker and service service traction control pops up or the steering wheel locks and service power steering pops up and the car shut off right then and there.
My screen for the radio starts to flicker, and the entire car shuts down. After waiting for 5 or 10 minutes the car powers back up and starts. Another time, while I was still parked the radio starts to flicker again. So I turn off the car, but the key is stuck in the ignition and when you turn the key you get nothing. It doesn't start and you get no power. After waiting a few minutes again the car powers up on its own while key is still in the ignition. This also happened once while I was driving. Luckily I was just taking off, so I wasn't going very fast.

I was sitting in my vehicle with the engine running and the air conditioner on, since it is August and very hot in las vegas. I had been in my vehicle for approximately five minutes about to leave when my air conditioner stopped blowing cold air. I smelt an electrical smell in coming through the vents. Then my car shut off and smoke began pouring out from underneath the hood. I quickly exited my vehicle and called the fire department. Within a couple minutes, the entire front of my vehicle was in engulfed in flames. I have not done any mechanical maintenance or work to my vehicle recently. I had my oil changed approximately 1000 miles ago. I had not had any problems with my vehicle until it caught on fire spontaneously and randomly without warning.
I was checking a lot of the stats online for the 2014 chevy Cruze and there were already reports out safety reports that there were some issues with the vehicles ignition and power steering and there were numbers and codes and I'm a bit upset because they sold me this vehicle knowing that there was some things that were wrong with the vehicle and that could have been my safety at risk while I'm driving on the road and the engine just shuts down the way it's been doing.
While driving on the interstate at 60mph, without warning the engine turned off. The dash went completely dark. No power, no steering. Drifted to shoulder. Put in park, turned key to off then on. Vehicle started. (no warning or service codes) replicated again about 10 mins later. On city street traveling 35 mph without warning dash went dark and car shut off. Same procedure to start. (no warning or service codes) unknown what caused massive failure. No indicators.

Turbo charger valve failed causing multiple other issues. Car shuts off randomly. Stability track keeps coming on even after the wire to the battery was replaced.
Tl the contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze. While driving at unknown speeds, the vehicle shut off and the key failed to release from the ignition. The vehicle was jumpstarted and returned to normal. The contact called crain Chevrolet (9911 I-30, little rock, ar 72209, (501) 436-4484) who stated that diagnostic testing was needed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 59,045.
I started having issue last year with the engine. I called chevy and was advised my warranty expired 12 day's before my complaint. After doing some research I learned that multiple consumer's across the country are having the same issues with the heating system and engine. I feel my car should have been recalled. The vehicle will just shut off mid traffic without warning. I have invested more than 1000 dollars and it's still having issues.
Tl-the contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze. The contact stated that while driving in traffic the vehicle just shut off and locked the steering wheel while still in motion. The vehicle came to a complete stop on it's own. The dealer and manufacturer had not been contacted yet since the malfunction just happened today. The VIN tool did not show any recalls at this time. The failure mileage was 66,000 tf.
On several occasions while in traffic the engine shut down for the "auto start" and failed to restart upon releasing the brake. The car stalls completely out at which point I have to place the car in park and start it again before putting it in drive to proceed. While in traffic this is a terrible hazard as the first time it happened, the car behind me instinctively took off as the light changed and by me releasing the brake that indicated "go". In the another instance I was at a light located at the top of a slight hill when the same situation occurred and the same scenario had to be completed in order to get the car to move again. Extremely dangerous. This vehicle is a lemon.

At least once a week, my chevy Cruze 2016 engine shuts off completely while idle at a stop sign of red light. I have auto shut off and when the auto shut off is in play it never cuts back on when taking my foot off the brake. I have to put my car into park and restart the engine.
(ad dealer info inadequate) tl the contact owned a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze. While the vehicle was stationary, it caught fire. While driving various low speeds, the air conditioner shut off without warning. When the contact turned the air conditioner back on, smoke entered into the cabin. The contact turned off the vehicle and opened the hood, but there was no smoke. Upon closing the hood, the cabin of the vehicle completely filled with smoke and the contact noticed a flame that ignited under the dashboard to the right of the accelerator pedal. The contact called the police and filed a police report. The fire department extinguished the fire. The interior of the vehicle was destroyed. Xchange leasing, an uber company, was contacted about the fire and referred the contact to her insurance company. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and requested that the vehicle be inspected by a third party. The failure mileage was 27,500.
Intermittently the anti-theft light goes on, without warning at an high speeds or when parked and shuts down all systems, immobilizing the car. This includes the radio, steering, motor. Two days ago I was driving and this happened, the car shut down, I couldn't steer or drive the car, a very dangerous situation. This has also happened when trying to start the car, the ant-theft system shuts down the car. There is no way to know when this will happen. When taken to auto dealer, the car works fine. The car has 66,000 miles. This has happened at least 6 times, but the last one was the worst, travelling at high speed and losing control of the car. What happened is similar to what happened with the ignition switch in cobalts where the car just stopped, that is pretty much what happened with me.
Car randomly will shutoff/jerk and restart, similar to turning off the key and turning it back on immediately. All of the dash lights came on and went off, the radio restarted and froze. Vehicle lost power electrically and the engine shutoff for a split second. Vehicle has electric power steering that quit, due to loss of vehicle power. This occurred while coming to a stop at a stop light, almost stopped.
For the past several months since June 2014, I have been experiencing the vehicle acceleration performance decrease. Once at a stop or stop light, it takes the vehicle between 10 to 40 seconds to fully pick up speed upon pressing on the acceleration. Today (02/14/2015) the vehicle stopped with engine light on while I was trying to move from a stop sign. This was scary. I imagined this wound have been terrible if I was in the midst of fast moving vehicles. . Read more...
I was at a red light and when the light turned green, I was about to push the gas pedal. The vehicle dash read engine power is reduced and shut off. I tried several times to start the vehicle but it shut down saying the same thing on the dash. I'm afraid because someone could have ran into me from the rear and I have a 7yr old daughter. I think this should be handled immediately. This is not safe at all.
In April I had been driving and noticed that my radio was flickering. After about ten minutes of my radio flickering on and off, the "service stabilitrack" light came on. Once the service light came on, power steering shut off and I had to pull the vehicle over. After pulling over, I shut off the vehicle and then tried to restart it. This time it started with a new service light on. I took the car into the dealership and they had it for three days hoping that the problem would present itself to them. I showed them a video of what happens to the radio and they were unable to help me. They did however notice that a previously recall done on my car had not been fixed before I purchased it. A few days after getting the car back, the lights started to flicker again. I contacted the dealership and they let me know that there was no point in bringing it in unless the problem was constant. About a month later, I went to start my car and nothing. No lights, no engine turn over nothing. My key was stuck in the ignition and would not turn. My fiance had to get out tap the battery and the whole thing started up. Two days ago, the same radio, service lights and engine shut off happened again. This is 2 times now that I have had complete failure in the middle of the road. I am literally terrified for my life!!!!!!!. . . . Updated 07/31/14.
In April of 2013 my 2013 chevy Cruze shut off while attempting to drive off from a red light that just turned green, as soon as I stepped on the gas pedal the car just shut off. There were no other vehicles behind me so I immediately tried turning the car on but I had to put it park then start it again and continued en route and did not think anything of it. This happened twice within the next few months. The fourth incident I had a car full of family member and we were getting on the freeway on ramp slowing to come to a stop when the light turned green so as soon as I stepped on the gas pedal the car shut down and I had no control and was almost hit from behind luckily there was no car in the lane over so the truck behind me swerved into the next lane and I once again put the car in park started again and immediately called the dealership and took the vehicle into the dealership. I was told by the service department a few weeks later that they figured the problem was a low octane gas and I just needed to start using chevron only and they would give me $250 in chevron gas cards. I refused to pick up the car because I already only used chevron gas in the vehicle since I purchased it in December 2012 with only 3 miles. After 2 months of arguing back in forth about them not having a fix for the car I returned the rental and purchased a different vehicle elsewhere and filed a complaint with gm which also gave me the run around about the vehicle being fixed when it wasn't ever worked on to this day they have the car and I am now in collections and continuing this headache with gm. They said its not a recall but I have spoken to several other people including the rental company that has had the chevy Cruze shut off on them as well.
