Vehicles comes with a engine stop on/off that can't be turned off. What this does is that it turns off the engine when idling to save gas. What happens is that this engages even before brake pressure hits 100%. So when in an uphill or downhill and coming to a stop the car tends to shut down when it reaches low speeds. However, when this happens the car starts rolling and you can't steer correctly because power steering is turned off. This creates a safety hazard because it engages before pressure is 100% causing the car to shut down early and you start rolling unexpectedly without any power steering. Vehicle was approaching a red light in a slight uphill. Car rolled from :34-:50 seconds backward. I re gained control of NY car once I let go completely off my brake(this causes the auto stop on/off to disengage).

This has occur more than a handful of times. This is the most recent one, I stopped at the gas station turned off my car and when I went to start it nothing was working no lights, no power anywhere. I wiggled the battery cable and it came back on but, I had to turn the key on and off multiple times for it to finally start. As I'm leaving the gas station I turn to the left and I have no power steering none whatsoever. Then it came back seconds later I was driving straight and the wheel jerked on its on and it said service power steering and once again I had no power steering. It went off moments later. When I got to my destination it lost all power again.

On my way to work February 22 I had notice a strong burning smell and just assumed it was from something outside. So I just ignored it and continued my drive. Once I got to work I noticed that there was some light smoke coming from under my hood so I lifted it and checked to see if anything looked strange but I didn't notice anything. So I continue to drive for a few more days becoming accustomed to the smell and smoke. Mind you I check all my fluids once a week because I do alot of long distance driving. After about 6-8 days of driving to my new job the smoke started getting thicker and more white and I started to notice that my oil level was dropping. So I bought some to keep in my car so I didn't run it dry. But I had to keep driving it to work because I needed to have a paycheck coming in. I had been off work for about 3 months due to the pandemic and couldn't afford to bring it to a mechanic until my first pay day. Well needless to say as I pulled up to my house on the 8th (two days before my visit to the mechanic) I noticed the smoke was mucx more intense then it was before so I lifted the hood and saw flames. So I closed the hood and grabbed some baking soda from my house and poured it over the flames. My neighbor saw what had happened and came over to see what was happening and noticed where the oil was coming from and said he could patch it temporarily so I can make it to the mechanic. But I am not willing to take the risk. Also about a month ago I noticed that there was a noise coming from my front wheels as I was driving and the vehicle started pulling to the driver's side.

My steering feels notched. At highway speed I feel like we are going to kill someone. You can not turn bc the wheel bc hard at center causing you to violently oversteer. Many people have complained about this issue over the years.
This car is crazy. Starts on its own if key left in ignition. Radio goes on and off constantly. Power steering tries to go out. Lights up like a christmas tree. I fear for my life and it needs a recall.

Common issue where an underboost even happens due to crack in turbo or failed wastegate, when on highway can cause an accident when suddenly unable to maintain highway speeds, also negatibe battery cable has common issue which reduces voltage pass through causing traction control and stabil-track issues which can cause loss of control of vehicle in hazardous conditions.
I just purchased this car and several times while I'm driving on the freeway the radio shuts of then turns back on numerous times. Then I usually get a stability's error message. Then the best part. The power steering will completely go out while changing lanes or in mid turn. I have been driving through a round about and also while making sharp turns to get on and off the freeway. This is so dangerous! I see that so many people are reporting the same exact problem! something needs to be done about this! I called onstar 3 times in one trip. First it disconnects because all electrical components shut off, then they actually told me I have to wait to call them back while I am losing my steering. Only to conclude they can only help after I am in an accident. When this is not going on the car runs great and I love it so it is obviously some kind of manufacture defect.
It's been sitting for awhile now. I've replaced the engine, the battery, the alternator, the starter, the thermostat and the tensioner belt. All brand new and it's still not starting up . It acts like it wants to start over but doesnt, even without the keys in ignition, if I hook up spark plugs it acts like it wants to start even without the keys in ignition.

Vehicle has had a misfire that only threw a single generic misfire code for cylinder 3. Jerks occasionally when slowing down at stop lights or signs. Recently went to turn around after missing a turn, shifted it into reverse after stopping in a random driveway off a city road, slowly began to back up and it moved about an inch before the steering wheel completely locked up, a/c shut off, car acted like it was in neutral and would only roll forward, would not accelerate with gas. Engine was still running, no lights came on, but problem remained until I put it in park and shut the vehicle off. Turned it back on and it started normal and haven't had a problem since but it's only been 2 days. Took it in to dealership and found 0 codes and are unsure as to what could possibly create the issue due to no codes and it only happening intermittently.

The ac off due to high engine temp warning keeps coming on, the ac won't work and the temp gauge goes back to zero. We have had the engine coolant temp sensor replaced and the radiator temp sensor replaced also and we are still having this issue! along with the dash and power steering goes out randomly while driving.
Brake abs and traction control shows on the dash board display and when I checked it with service they found no odb2 or any service issue?.
It looses power. All dash lights flash on and off while driving, the radio turns on and off and the car looses power steering while driving (this is major and I've had a few scary moments while turning). At times the key will get stuck in the ignition and it will not start. The only way to get the key out is to pop the hood and jiggle the battery cable, it will then release the key. All these issues happen daily. I have no warning lights that stay on consistently.
My son was driving down the road last week and dash flashed stabilink and he lost all power and forces him to try to pull over which he could because steering wheel locked up and brakes got hard to push. A week later stabilink flashed again and then while driving down the road he had to slam on brakes for a stopped vehicle and brakes would work and steering wheel locked up again resulting in him rear ending the vehicle.

With this condition, the radio/hvac display turns off and on; the antilock brake system, service traction system, service stabilitrac and steering vehicle messages may come on and off; the turn signal sound may not be heard; battery saver active and service steering were displayed in the driver information center (dic); and the interior and exterior lighting flickered. Recently power steering assist was also lost, and greater effort may be needed to turn the steering wheel at low speeds or while the vehicle is stopped.
The stablic tract, the engine, the engine slows down, the power steering, the engine module has blowed I have had problems with the car day 1, I bought from jda automotive on garners ferry road. I have been taking car to Chevrolet in columbia,SC harbison . They repaired recalls but soon as repair they send a signal to car to tear up . The car come to complete stop causing me to need neck brace it also is tearing up the thread on tires. And people are blowing horn and also hitting me in back everywhere I go I have to use emergency blinking lights.
In the middle of driving home the car was not operable and would not allow me to turn the vehicle and it started doing a scrubbing sound before it stopped turning completely.
When driving the car flickers the radio in and out and then the radio gos completely out and service stability tracker and service service traction control pops up or the steering wheel locks and service power steering pops up and the car shut off right then and there.
On i35 south bound just north of oseola IA. At 73 miles an hour something came loose on left front car took a hard left no control crashing into cable barrier in median. 3 people on board 2 front 1 rear. None can explain what happened it happened so fast. Left front wheel and axle were not found at the seen of the accident left front was completely gone. Only 4 airbags of the 10 on board deployed. Received onstar notifications on stability control system (stabilitrak}, antilock braking, engine and transmission system, and flat drivers side rear all at the same time.
Tl- the contact owns a 2016 Chevrolet cruz. The contact stated that while traveling at various speeds, the radio would operate intermittently and the home screen would appear blank without warning. When the failure continued, the power steering would lock and the stability tracking warning light would illuminate simultaneously. The vehicle had not been taken to a dealer to be serviced. The manufacturer was notified and informed her that there were no recalls on the vehicle. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure mileage was 85,000. Jo.
The transmission of the car is not working properly. It jumps every time I press the gas pedal and jumps when the car is on the road.
While driving and in motion the vehicle shuts off. After shutting off the abs malfunctions and the steering malfunctions. This has happened twice now, both on city streets. Once disabled the vehicle will not restart on it's own; it doesn't even turn over. The vehicle will, however, restart if jump started. The first occurrence presented with a check engine light that coded as a faulty cam shaft sensor. This was replaced and the check engine light went away. The second occurrence presented with no lights or warnings. Both the battery and alternator were tested and are functioning.
Car surges, engine loses power off, c/s traction control/stabilitrac light comes on dash, door locks activating on their own, we have put new battery new negative cable with new bolt. Car at speed 60- 65 this happen, driving on highway and interstate. I drove car 3 times happened, tech drove car this happened, car been checked at dealer 3 times and still at dealer as of 11/16/2019.
Was driving on the freeway exiting the offramp that curves to the right. When I turned the steering wheel it locked up and the stereo turned off. I had no control over the direction my vehicle was traveling. I applied my brake, to keep from hitting another vehicle. When I pressed my brake the steering wheel unlocked briefly then locked again. Then a yellow ⚠️ warning light illuminated and my car began to pull to the right. The stereo powered on and the steering wheel returned to normal. The yellow warning ⚠️ light turned off. I continued to travel another 1. 5-2 miles more to my home and it happened again. This time a green dash light illuminated and said service power steering. I parked my car at that point. I am contacting the dealership to make arrangements for repair. The reason why I am filing a complaint is because of the danger associated with this type of malfunction. It put my life and other drivers life is at stake. This is not an acceptable way for a vehicle to function. This is not the only time I've had an electrical issue with my vehicle. In October 2018 after driving to mammoth California my vehicle completely turned off while I was on the highway. Something similar to a stall out.
Everything on the dash shut off. Heat and air shut off. Service stability track warning comes on. Engine fan running all the time. Steering locks.
Car been jerking and stop on it's own while in drive I been keeping oil changes and everything up to part on it.
Sometimes while driving, if you hit the brake or hit the window switch, the power to the radio panel and drivers display will cut off, sometimes the "service stabilitrac" signal will come up and the power will come back on after a few seconds, when this happens it will also cut power to the power steering, if you are not prepared for it or your not aware of the situation it can surprise you, it can be especially startling while turning and all of a sudden power cuts out and you have trouble steering, the car will stay running and the power will cut for a few seconds, and then everything will go back to normal. Looking online this seems to be a common issue with the earlier chevy cruz. I am just not sure of the full extent of the issue.
I was driving on 65 s and I lost all power to my car, my car is having a hard time starting. Went to have my starter tested and wasnt that, it's my battery and the cables. Car is unsafe to be driving and all Cruze should have a recall on them. My battery light will come on then a message will pop us saying power steering.
Vehicle started to display "service stabilitrak" on dic panel after running through a puddle on a freeway onramp. Also, from time to time, when turning the steering wheel, you can feel a sudden jolt or pop (wheel gets easy to turn for a couple of inches of travel). Popping chiefly happens at slow speeds, such as turning into a parking space. Brought the vehicle to a dealer for service. They read c0710 and c055c codes. Advised that the vehicle needs a new steering gear. Vehicle has less than 40,000 miles.
