I purchased a pre certified vehicle on 3/22/19 and started having problems 12 days from purchase date. The problems that have occurred are: loud crank like noise coming from right front passenger side, vibration at high speeds and vehicle pulls to the left during acceleration and braking. Chevy has replaced the right front caliper twice, said my tires were defected so I purchased 4 brand new ones, performed 3 road force balances and 2 alignments on new tires, replaced propeller shaft and replaced high pressure power steering hose. My vehicle is still not fixed after all the repairs.

My wife was driving when the brakes began to seize and there was a burning smell. She continued to attempt to drive and the car was slow to accelerate which caused the car to overheat. The warning light came on and advised to turn off ac and stop car. She stated that the brake pedal was very hard to press. She stopped the car allowed it to cool down then proceeded to cautiously drive home. I immediately drove it and noticed a slight burn scent but the car seemed to be ok other than the power brakes were no longer functional. After the car sat for 6-7 hours I drove it for about 1/2 hour with the power brakes now functioning. I took it to the shop and had entire system (calipers, rotors, pads, lines, etc. ) examined and at that time it could not be replicated. My wife drove it the following day and after 25 minutes of interstate driving the power brakes were again not functioning. She parked it for 3 days at the airport and upon her return the power brakes worked for about 15 minutes before they no longer worked.

We purchased this vehicle used for our college student. We bought this vehicle from seeker Toyota in st. Robert mo. Two days after purchase the. Brake system on the front passenger side locked up. This was supposedly inspected by the dealership. We replaced the calipers, rotors, brakes pads, and thought the problem was fixed, less than 2 months later it locked up again and tried to catch fire. Now have to fix again. The heater stopped working about a week after purchase, the cd player stopped working the day after purchase. We were told there was no warranty after spending nearly $5000 for this vehicle. We feel like we were ripped off and why isn't the brake problems and heat issues not on the recall list.
After stopping when driving longer distances the front left brake would fail to disengage, so that the brake would remain on when trying to drive on interstate. I took it to a dealership to have it checked and discovered that the brake line was collapsing when hot preventing brake fluid to brake. The left one went bad first, but by the time I found out what the problem was I had to have the rotor, caliper and pads all replaced also. After it was replaced everything was great for about 30 days and then the right one started having the same problem. So I had the right brake line replaced immediately and it corrected the problem with no additional costs. We had a very rainy spring so as long as there was water on the road the brake would function properly because the water would keep it cool, but on dry days it would stick. It finally got to the point that it was just stuck all the time no matter what the weather was. It was the first time I had ever heard of a brake line collapsing shut. . . The vehicle had 69,000 miles on it when purchased it now has 82,000 miles and the starter just started sticking a few days ago when attempting to start it. I still love the way it handles and drives though.
The contact owns a 2005 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that while accelerating, the front passenger's brake caliper seized and caused the vehicle to become inoperable. The contact had the vehicle towed a dealer, who stated that the a pinch in the brake hose caused the caliper to lock. The dealer replaced the caliper and the abs system. After the repair, the driver's side brake caliper seized. The contact did not take the vehicle back to the dealer nor call the manufacturer. The failure mileage was 94,000.

37000 miles the brakes were grinding and car shimmied when the were applied. Took car to dealer stated needed new pads, put on new pads. Worked fine for 800 miles, started grinding again dealer stated needed new rotors and calipers now. Took car to different dealer and they stated that the cars front wheel bearing was defective and was warping the rotors and calipers. The parts are not under warranty over 36000 miles. This is a major defect in the front end of the vehicles!!!.
