Service stabilitrak, power steering light, check engine light. Door locks lock and unlock continuously. Randomly has no acceleration, causes jolting at a low speed. Available for inspection ASAP. The code “uo101” comes up in a diagnostic test. Overall, the car basically shuts down while driving at no specific speed. Safety of myself and others is at risk because this can cause an accident resulting in being rear ended/collision with car and other vehicles as it randomly happens when driving. I took my car to the dealership on 3/5/25 and expressed this issue and they could not diagnose it as it was not physically happening after I dropped it off to them. They had the car for 4 days and couldn’t duplicate the issue. They gave back the car and told me there was no issue with the vehicle and it is continuing to happen again. They told me to get proof of the incident on video when it happens again. (I was able to get a video today 4/3/25) there is no warning before this event happens. It will go away and not happen for a few days and then the next day it is not drivable. I am concerned for the safety of myself and others and would like to find the cause of this once and for all. I’d like for the dealership to not send me away without a reason why this is happening or fixing my vehicle.

In Feb 2025, I was driving, a day after a snow storm, on the highway when without warning my car stopped accelerating, and just shut down. The mechanic said my oil was all over the ground. He also stated that there's a defect in the 2. 4l ecotec motors and the pistons broke on my vehicle. Now I have to pay $3500 to rebuild my motor. He stated that the vehicle has a higher oil consumption rate/ leaks and you will never know.

On February 25,2025 I first noticed my engine light was blinking constantly while my service esc light and tc light was on while driving on the freeway. When I exited the freeway all lights went off. I had my mechanic check it out and he suspected a misfire because he ran the VIN and said my vehicle had a history of a misfire. I was unaware of that because I wasn't given that information when I bought the vehicle a little over a year ago. I drove the vehicle approximately a month just around town and on March 26 2025 I was driving on the freeway and again the service escaped light came back on as well as the tc light with a line across the letters tc. The engine light did not come on on this occasion. I've read stories with many people with my same vehicle having the very same issue however I've searched my VIN and there's no recall listed for my particular vehicle and I think there should be. I find it strange that the lights only come on if I'm on the freeway and I don't feel safe driving the vehicle with my son in the car while traveling outside of the city. I'm still. Under warranty but I'm unsure if this issue is covered under my warranty.

I was driving down the road and my engine stopped. It stopped so suddenly that I did not have time to get out of the road and my safety was put at risk. When I took it to a certified Chevrolet dealership, they told me that the vacuum pump failure caused extensive damage to the motor and I needed to have my entire motor replaced. When I asked them what I could have done to prevent such catastrophic failure, they stated that there was nothing to prevent it. I did not have any warning on my dash at the time of the incident. This was at least the 2nd vacuum pump failure on this vehicle since I've owned it. I got it replaced at a certified Chevrolet dealership in 05/2022 when my brakes went out. In 05/22, the brakes went out but I was in a driveway and I did not feel my safety was a concern at that time. Now it's not even been 3 years and the vacuum pump failure risked my safety and caused catastrophic damage to engine to be replaced.

Snowy conditions. All of the traction control, stabilitrak, and abs systems are working normally. Sometimes when I accelerate and the wheels start to spin the whole infotainment console turns off. Its almost like the battery is dead for a few seconds then everything turns back on.

Both the speedometer/digital information center and radio went black while driving. I had no access to either of these for about 5-7 seconds. I had cruise control set at the time, and it did not affect my speed. I heard a “click” after everything went black and after restarting, it was normal. My red indicator above the steering wheel flashed a couple times and the radio came on first, then the speedometer. It would be available for inspection upon request. This put both mine and others’ safety at risk. I had no way to see my speed, cruise setting, or access any of my tools that uses either this or the radio to function. This has not happened again, I have reported the issue to the dealership the next day with no contact back. It has not been inspected, and there were no warning lamps or indication of the problem before it happened.

On December 15, 2024 my car stalled out. On the middle of the road nearly causing me a collison. My vehicle for. The last month has been - what I assume is having electrical problems , my car is only 4 years old so im uncertain as to why it would be stalling out , this is also the first time that this has happen . I called my insurance company to file a report about my vehicle stalling out on a busy traffic road and all that was said was unless im in a collison there is nothing they can. Do and if the car stallls out and I am in a accident it would be me at fault . I have one car which is the chevy Equinox 2020. I cant afford to die nor be in accident that can potential put me in danger for a car that is only 4 years old .

Wireless charging overheats - causes burns potential phone damage.

Infotainment and main driver information center blank. While driving on highway infotainments screen went blank followed by the main driver information center. Problem only lasted for 2 seconds before screens reappeared.

My car alerts shift to park when it is already parked and will not shut off. The battery has to be disconnected to turn the car off. It won't start and the dash displays multiple lights park, check engine lights, tire lights and more.

I just purchased a 2019 chevy Equinox premier and I found water in the spare time wheel well. After some investigation, I found there is a water leak causing water to spill on the fuse box located in the back panel on the driver's side. This is certainly a safety issue if the fuse panel shorts out, especially if it happens while driving.

When purchase vehicle there was only 9,567 miles on it . I had the car for 1 year when lane changing warning and front camera went out. Also effected my car started. Dont know when it was first purchase and they say warranty is up. It could of been the end of 2024 but they say 1/2024. . Miles is under 36000 and the end of 2024 is 3year. My bill they stat is over 1500. I can afford it in this economy. And chevy should honor the bumper to bumper warranty. Im disappointed in chevy, that there electronics go in less then 3 years. I hope that chevy for a large corporation will make this right. While driving, warning "service restraint system" popped up on the speedometer display, followed by "auto stop" something, then "reduced engine power", and symbols lit up including the service engine and traction control symbols. I pulled over, saw what I thought was steam emanating from the passenger side of the hood. I popped the hood intending to investigate and saw flames. 3 firemen and 2 mechanics told me based on my description, the engine was on fire before I even pulled off the road.

The contact's wife owns a 2024 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that while taking out the trash in the middle of the night, a strong, burnt rubber odor could be smelled in the air. Soon after, the contact stated that the front, passenger side window shattered as flames began to emit from the vehicle. The contact immediately rushed to move his other vehicle away from the burning vehicle while on the phone with the authorities. There were no occupants inside the vehicle at the time of the failure. The authorities arrived at the scene and extinguished the fire. A fire report was filed; however, the contact never received a copy of the report. Police were also present at the scene of the fire but was not certain if a report was filed. Per the fire investigation, it was determined that the fire was caused by the driver-side seat warmer. No physical injuries were reported; however, both the contact and his wife suffered severe emotional distress. No property damage was reported. The vehicle was towed to an independent tow yard were it remained in their possession. The vehicle had yet to labeled as destroyed by the contact's insurance company. The dealer nor the manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was 16,989.

My car is chewing through oil, about 1 quart every 500 miles. There are no leaks, I change oil regularly. It went into limp mode, to then discover the 2. 4 4 cylinder chevys and gmcs are having massive issues. It almost stranded me on the side of the road coming home from work.

Was driving down the road with a sudden loss of power to the infotainment system plus dashboard resulting in all black and being unable to see your speed/turn signals. The steering wheel lights suddenly flashed then shut off and won’t turn back on.

Driving down a 4 lane busy highway. Going 65 when the car made a pop sound. We pulled over. Car caught on fire 5 mins after we were out.

After I engage the right turn signal and complete a right turn, it occasionally bounces the turn signal back too hard and then the "soft" (not fully clicked in) and lights up my left signal about three times. This has happened multiple times since we leased it in early September.

Stalling when braking and then accelerating. Car sputtered while on highway and then it stopped running . The car indicated to try to put it in neutral and start again. This did not work after several tries. The car will not successfully start up.

The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that the vehicle was experiencing an unintended opening and closing of the sunroof. The contact stated that the sunroof was opening and closing independently while driving and while the vehicle was parked and turned off with no keys nearby. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the failure could not be replicated. The dealer contacted the manufacturer and was instructed on how to correct the failure. The dealer followed the manufacturer's instructions; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle remained at the dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 57,500.

Ever so often my check engine will pop on and everything will go haywire. The park assist will cut on and off periodically as well as the automatic high beams and also the infotainment system will connect to my phone and randomly make phone calls at any time. I'm usually alerted of this malfunction when I start the vehicle. Also, the auto stop/start will be active but will continue running when brake is applied. And the final issue is one of the majors, my automatic remote start only works periodically. I'll use this feature from my window which is about 55 ft from my car and the lights will come on but when I get to my car it's not running and everything is off. There is definitely an electrical issue in the vehicle. I have only had the vehicle 3 months and the issue persist more and more frequently. I have informed the dealership and they seem to can't find any issues which is beyond me but they just keep getting worse. I need some sort of help on this matter.

The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that while at a complete stop at a traffic light, the engine auto start/stop feature engaged, and the engine turned off; however, upon depressing the brake pedal to resume driving, the vehicle failed to respond, rolled backwards and nearly struck another vehicle. The contact depressed the brake pedal several times and the vehicle stopped. There was a message indicating a power brake assist failure displayed. The contact stated that the failure had been recurring. The vehicle was taken to dealer, where it was inspected, and the dealer confirmed that the vehicle was not designed with a button or switch to manually deactivate the engine auto start/stop system. The contact was charged a fee for the diagnostic test. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 88,000.

The temperature sensor keeps breaking down after using the car under normal conditions for 1–2 months of use. I have changed it a few times, as well as the electrical harnesses and connectors, and the problem persists.

2012 Chevrolet Equinox burns/leaks oil which cause the serpentine belt to pop off & I had to replace it. Having problems with the mat & iat codes, just replaced the fuel pump, crankshaft sensor, camshaft sensor, & spark plugs. . . Car still will not crank. They're saying there's no recall but why are all the Chevrolet Equinox malfunctioning with the same problems with no help from the manufacturer?.

Water leak flooding the rear passenger compartment floor and the rear spare tire well. The water appears to be entering at the rear pillars. On the left rear leak, it is entering the fuse panel. The right rear leaks by the power outlet. I fear this is going to cause corrosion and create problems in the future. I removed almost 2 gallons of water from the rear floor with a carpet extractor. I was able to pull a drain plug in the rear spare tire well to remove that water. The moisture in the vehicle condensates on the inside windshield, moon/sunroof and the rear back glass making it difficult to leave in an emergency without first wiping all the window down with a towel. Fyi: I am the brother of the vehicle owner. She has stage 4 lung cancer and I am handling things for her.

Vehicle shakes when turning on and while driving, check engine light is on or blinking, service stabilitrack warning, traction control light is on, poor acceleration, tire monitor system light is on and does not read tire pressure (this is all happening at the same time).

While driving the car cuts completely off while driving. Everything blacks out. No lights will come on, not even the emergency lights. It starts back up in about 15 to 20 minutes, lights come back on. And it starts back up. This has happened at least 3 times, almost causing me to get hit because when it shuts off it want roll or do anything else.

I have owned this car for over 3 years. I have always started the car, closed the doors, gotten the kids in the car, and then got in the car myself and went on with my day. On [xxx], I put my 6 month old baby in the car, closed the door, and when I tried to get into the car, all the doors were locked. Never in my time of owning this car have the locks ever locked itself after just starting it and letting it "warm up". Needless to say, thank god my air was already on so my baby was at least "safe" until the police could arrive and get the car opened. But they unfortunately broke my driver side window trying to get in, and so this safety malfunction could have literally killed my child, but it also did cause me damages that I have to get repaired.
