1 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2007 Chevrolet Impala

Failure Date: 06/11/2015

This all started when the factory battery went dead so I went and purchased a new one about a week after I went out one morning to leave for work and it wouldn't start had to be jumped. So later on I checked for a drain on the battery and found out that the radio the interior lights and the display where causing a drain. So I had all three checked all tests fine so I purchased another battery and was good for about a week then all the sudden the radio died and all the auditable sounds stop working the next day went out to try to start the car and nothing happened only had headlights and interior lights wouldn't start. So I put it on a charger for a couple hours tried it again and it was completely dead like there was no battery in . Come to find out that the bcm ( body control module ) was shorted. Now I've got to find a new and figure out how to get it up to dealership to have it programmed.

3 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2007 Chevrolet Impala

Failure Date: 11/15/2014

On Saturday, November 15, 2014, I took my 2007 Chevrolet Impala LS to hailey's Chevrolet for the "electrical ignition / key recall. " after my keys were fixed and the two 6mm rings were attached to them, I was driving 25 mph down the highway, slowed down for another vehicle that was turning; then the service airbag and service tire pressure monitoring system lights illuminated, flickered three times, and have remained on since then. I didn't have any problems with my vehicle; until the recall repairs listed above were performed. I am scared to drive my car even short distances now because of all the news headlines about, "airbags exploding" and fear of, what might happen with my tires. These matters should really be investigated.

4 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2014 Chevrolet Impala

Failure Date: 11/12/2014

The vehicle is equipped with a vehicle collision warning device that is intended to warn the driver of a vehicle in front that you are to close to and closing range without braking. On about 1/2 dozen occasions the vehicle's early detection system has engaged without any vehicles in front. These occurrences seem to be on days when it is raining and their are reflections off the road, or very sunny days (again causing reflections). The flashing light, loud alarm, and interruption with regular audio is very jarring (scary). On one occasion I applied my brakes very hard because of the alarm (but there was no car in front) - this almost caused the car behind to hit me. The system should be disengaged to prevent a false/positive alarm. I have taken it for service and contacted general motors without results.

9 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2014 Chevrolet Impala

Failure Date: 04/15/2014

On multiple occasions my 2014 Impala indicated imminent crash by flashing a red light from dash into the front windshield and sounding an alarm with 3 or 4 beeps. The first couple of times I thought maybe the sensor was picking up a shadow or parked car but as it happened a few more times I came to the realization that it was not operating correctly. On clear sunny days with no cars in front of me it began to occur. I've owned the car for 2 months and it has probably happened 15 to 20 times. After doing a little research it sounds like I'm not the only one in the country to have this problem and in fact if my car was equipped with automatic braking function I'm confident that it would have applied the brakes and caused an accident.

10 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2014 Chevrolet Impala

Failure Date: 04/02/2014

While driving on texas highway 287, southbound, my anti-collision alert system activated. It sounded a loud beeping, followed by a full application of all brakes. Startled, I was able to apply the accelerator pedal to resume my speed. Approximately 5 miles further, the incident repeated it self. During the first incident, there were no vehicles in front of me, none. The road was dry, straight and free of any obstacles. There was no traffic behind me. The second time the car automatically locked up my brakes, there was a car behind me, but he was able to swerve and avoid rear-ending me. Again, there was no traffic of any type ahead of me and the road was flat, dry and straight. Again I was able to apply the accelerator pedal to regain control of the car and pull over to the side where I . Shut off the engine. I restarted the engine and proceeded to my destination in springtown, texas without further incident. I took the car to the dealership the next week for a diagnostic search and repair of the incident. They had the car for three days and told me nothing was wrong with the car. I'm filing this complaint, because I believe that this is a potential deadly threat to me, my passengers, or other drivers.

12 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2009 Chevrolet Impala

Failure Date: 02/03/2014

I have owned the car since 9/2013. Shortly after purchasing the airbag sensor light started illuminating on and off. I took it back to the dealer and it was serviced. Shortly after that it came on again. Then back in February the car starrted making a very annoying and embarrising clicking sound that comes from the ac/heating unit. I was told that it ws common in the Impala and that it is the accuator. It has gotten so bad that it clicks even when the car is not running and is locked. I know at least 7 people here locally that has the same problems as listed above with the same year and model car. Please take a survey or do something because this is definitely a manufacturing issue.

13 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2014 Chevrolet Impala

Failure Date: 01/31/2014

Forward collision avoidance system inappropriate activation on several occasions at different locations. There were no other vehicle in front. There were three beeps/red light flash on windshield. The cruise control would deactivate and car would decelerate by three to five mile. The tail lamps are not activated to warn drivers following. This is my second complaint the dealer solution is to turn off the feature. It work when it should the inappropriate activation is a nuisance.

14 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2014 Chevrolet Impala

Failure Date: 01/30/2014

Experience on multiple occasions the forward collision avoidance activation of a flashing a red light from dash into the front windshield and sounding an alarm with three or four beeps. Referring to this as phantom braking activated by the forward collision avoidance system causing autonomous brake activation and the cruise control disengagement. It is unknown if the activation of brake lamps occur I hope they work when this happen. My service manager suggestion is to deactivate feature. Chevrolet customer assistance center 71-1299424541 me back to the dealer with no solution/explanation.

17 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2014 Chevrolet Impala

Failure Date: 07/25/2013

At 70 mph vehicle slowed on its own. Vehicle information center read "stabilitrak and engine power is reduced". Got yellow traction control sysytem light on the instrument panel with a "malfunction indicator light" below the speedometer. Engine running rough at ashland, va exit. Engine was shut down then restarted with same warnings as before. Approximately 45 mins later restarted to have a local Chevrolet dealer look at the car. On restart, all warnings and indicator lights except for the "malfunction indicator light" were out and engine ran normally. Dealer guessed that it was probably a "glitch" and it was probably ok to drive. The 800 or so miles to sarasota were without problems. On 8/5/2013 took car to local dealer approximately 3 miles from my home. On entering the dealer's parking lot at approximately 10 mph the problem reappeared I. E. "engine power reduced with stabilitrak" with warning lights as before. This is a safety issue as it can happen at any time!!.

18 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2004 Chevrolet Impala

Failure Date: 12/12/2012

Traction control system activates when it should not. Brake pedal has buzzing noise and pressure while braking from around 35 mph. Causes the vehicle to jerk to the right. Also, when the tcs activates when it should not, it does not allow for acceleration and has left me pulling out of a side street to almost getting struck by cross traffic. Both are very dangerous situations!.

19 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2010 Chevrolet Impala

Failure Date: 10/20/2012

I had a blow out on a front passenger tire. Went to raise car on flat level surface. I used the car jack for the first time since buying the car two years ago. The jack failed to stay under the frame rail ridge. Its was half way up and the car bent the frame of the jack and the threaded rod. Luckily no one was near the car it just roll forward and crushed the jack. I was unable to straighten and fix the jack. Bad metal or frame was not qa correctly. I had a police officer use the same jack on his squad car different year Impala and it worked fine. I need to find a way to report the jack failure and get a replacement jack from the chevorlet company. Do not want to go to a dealer or service center. The act of this failing is a safety concern to many Impala owners and I would like the jack mail to me or replaced as soon as possible.

20 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2009 Chevrolet Impala

Failure Date: 05/09/2012

There is a constant knocking in the dashboard, when I attempt to turn on the air condition or the heating system in the vehicle. This knocking causes the heat to be passed threw the vehicle, in the summer time I would have to turn the car off and on, then keep adjusting the air control until the air began to blow. Majority of the time the air does not come on, there is just constant heat coming for the dashboard and the floor board. I begin to notice that this knocking would occur while I was not in the car, while hitting the remote for entry into car and while the car is being driven. I had a neighbor whose vehicle was doing the same thing. As time went on I could be walking threw a parking and hear that same sounds in other Impala m. Odels.

21 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2011 Chevrolet Impala

Failure Date: 04/16/2012

I bought a used 2011 Impala and did notice the rear seat head rests were quite high, but thought I would get used to it. I however after three weeks have not. It is a hindrance having to spend eye time on the rear of the vehicle due to the seat head rests being too high. When driving in 5 lane traffic you need to devote all of your attention to all around you, and you are not able to do this in a 2011 Impala. I have not contacted the dealer because it appears from other postings that the only resolution at this time is to buy 2012 rear seats for over $400. These seats are definitely a dangerous accident waiting to happen.

22 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2008 Chevrolet Impala

Failure Date: 08/10/2010

The back doors and the front passenger door will only lock and unlock manually.

23 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2002 Chevrolet Impala

Failure Date: 06/18/2002

Shortly after purchasing this vehicle, I parked and when I tried to start it would not start. After waiting about 20 minutes it did start. I took it to the dealer and was told it was a sensor which they replaced. Did not stop the problem, continues to do it today. Now at about 8500 miles a message comes up to service tract system. Am told it is a sensor in the hub and the entire hub will have to be replaced at a cost of about $750 per hub for the front and slightly more if it is the rear hub. After reading on the internet of this same problem people are having, I realize I am not the only one having this problem and it seems all these fixes do not stop the problem. I purchase the car new and love the ride and performance I get from this car but am not able at the time to pay for expenses of this magnitude. Have considered trading but do not want to saddle someone else with this problem. Would not mind the repairs if it was going to fix the problem, but seems as if this is a problem that cannot be fixed. Help.
