Problem with message center, security lite comes on then battery lite, then service vehicle soon, then air conditioning would not turn on, started funny, did not start turning over when I first turned the key it started to turn over about 1 sec after turning the key and started ok then. All of this happened a the same time for the first time. Prior to this I reported a popping/snapping noise when you turned the key. The chev dealer said this was normal (3 weeks prior to the problem).

While driving could see the battery light come on, then engine will stall. Consumer will turn ignition off for 10-15 minutes, then restart again. On last visit to dealer, they found the problem to be due to improperly connected wires. Repairs were made, no problems since.
Positive post of battery forced out from inside battery. Extensive paint and rust damage occured. I am aware of many other such cases with delco batteries.

After vehicle being parked for several days, the vehicle is completely dead and must be jumped started, a reoccurring problem. The battery is in good condition (vehicle is a police package, the township also owns a second 2001 Impala with the identical problems).
I belong to an Impala ss club and several years ago we noticed that the stock ac/delco (?) 676 battery would sometimes leak. Many complained to GMC but nothing happened so as precaution many people changed out their battery since gm would do nothing about it. Now we (the club) noticed that there is an investigation on the chevy suburban and tahoe and yukon about the same battery. This is something that has been happening at least since 1994 when our Impalas started to be made. These batterys are shoddy. Please take help take them off the road. I already swapped out my battery since I didn't want any acid spilling in the engine bay.
