I got a p2138 code for accelerator pedal sensor error. From what I have seen this is caused by the two sensors not matching. I have repaired this issue previously about 3 years ago, but it has happened again. This seems to be a common issue with gm cars of this era.

I own a 2011 chevy Impala 4 door that has a very serious engine issue. I was on my way home and suddenly the service stability trac, and check engine light came on, then the message center displayed reduced engine power and low oil pressure then the engine shut off. I tried to restart the vehicle and it would not restart. I got it towed to a parking lot where it sat over night then it would restart but only for a few minutes. Once I got a scanner hooked up it had a p0642 code lost 5 volt reference circuit 1 and a cam sensor code I worked on this vehicle for two days and still have not found the issue. This vehicle needs a recall since this is a recurring issue with a few different model years of this vehicle and its always the same issue word for word, check engine light comes on, service stability trac, reduced engine power and low oil pressure lights come on the same p0642 lost 5 volt reference circuit 1. This is a very dangerous situation when going down the road and you lose engine power, steering and braking power. Gm needs to correct this issue too many people have had this same issue.

My vehicle is exhibiting the exact systems outlined in NHTSA bulletin pi0924b: some customers may comment on unwanted opening of the trunk without pressing any of the release buttons while the vehicle is parked. Although the trunk is unlatched while parked, the owner may not observe the trunk open until they begin to drive the vehicle. This may also be accompanied with a “trunk open” message in the dic. This condition may be caused by the trunk release button on the remote transmitter being pressed inadvertently while the transmitter is in their pocket or purse.
Messages for “service side detection system” and “service rear vision system” appear web vehicle is turned on. Side detection system as well as backup camera are both non functional. Gm knows about this issue and had a recall/ warranty repair program. However I was never notified to bring my vehicle in to have this repair done, and now I believe it is past the date that was set to have repairs covered. Will be contacting gm to have these things potentially fixed.

An electrical malfunction in manufacturing! recall!!! obviously I actually have another Impala- 2007 that the rear defrost wire’s actually burnt @ control junction, been replaced now. The side detection system modules are preventing the vehicle blind spot system to work correctly. And the vehicle takes 5, 10, 15 + attempts to start up.

There is an electrical connector behind the right side, kick panel that overloads and chars the plastic housing. The connector is for the rear defroster grid, but it cannot handle the amperage that the grid carries. It overloads and is a fire hazard that can could start a fire in the passenger compartment. It is a very common problem on ninth generation Chevrolet Impalas, to the point there are multiple youtube videos, offering shade tree repair advice that bypass the connector with a jumper wire. I’m including a link to one such a video. Https://youtu. Be/rgxpebezlqs?si=g2mjkpv2jjecn1qk.

1. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? the sunroof sunshade is the specific component that has malfunctioned. It is readily visible and accessible for inspection upon request. A mechanic or technician can visually inspect the sunshade to assess the extent of the damage. 2. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? excessive sunlight in the car causes discomfort or visibility issues to the driver and passengers. Glare from the sun impairs vision causing distraction, and compromising safety, especially during bright and sunny days making it challenging to see the road, traffic signals, and other vehicles clearly. Excessive heat makes the interior uncomfortable and hot. Sunburn. Reduced visibility and distraction can increase the likelihood of accidents affecting the safety of not only the occupants of the car with the torn sunshade but also other drivers and pedestrians on the road. 3. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? . Yes 4. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others? routine inspections are not conducted by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives for issues like a torn sunshade. However, an insurance representative might assess the damage if I file a claim related to the sunshade issue. 5. Were there any warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? warning lamps or messages related to the sunroof sunshade are not present in most vehicles.

Driving home one night, August 8th, 2023 (thank goodness it was night) took a turn and got a service traction control light with a ding ding ding noise (I assume to alert me that something is wrong) and then it said engine power reduced which I assume happens because if your traction control is bad, it doesn’t want you slipping. Immediately called my father and he said to just drive it home and we’ll check it out. Not 2 miles later, my engine just stopped and it went into ignition. I couldn’t steer, I couldn’t stop because the engine was no longer running. I’ve driven a time or 2 (more like backed up) when I didn’t turn my key all the way and it was in ignition and that’s how it felt because it wasn’t on. This was very scary because I thought the car had just gave out. The engine just stopped and I got warning saying "starting disabled, service engine throttle " this is my first car, and after reading the complaints on it, I thought it was a recall. We ended up changing out the gas pedal, which made the problem go away right away, and I haven’t had issues with it since. Failure mileage: 175k.

On July 11th 2023 I finalized the purchase of a black 2014 chevy Impala lt at premiere auto solutions llc. The beginning of the week of July 22nd I started hearing loud noises coming from back tire area. On approximately July 24th, the engine light came on for small evaporation leak code. Returned back to premiere auto and spoke with worker\dealer about situation with the car. Was told by this person after a test drive with him that the back tire noises are normal due to the braking system, and he cleared the engine code from dash panel. Within the next week, back tire noise got worse and engine light came back on along with message to service front camera\side detection system. Car diagnosed by two mechanics for replacement of back rotors\brakes and evaporation purge valve. Attempted to contact premiere auto to no avail. On August 4th the vehicle suffered an electrical failure with total loss of power while driving. On August 7th the car was towed to bob johnson Chevrolet at 1271 w. Ridge rd. Rochester, NY, 14615. The car is still there diagnosed with a shorted wire to the front camera module which renders the car inoperable, and is not covered by the extended warranty.
Power steering stability trak doors locking making clicking sound all this shows up on dash and the car feels like it is accelerating and then jerks slows down and a big sound putting it into gear and a code that says u0101.
When my car is exposed to water (rain, a car wash) the trunk completely floods and does not drain. It has flooded so much now that my amplifier does not work. I took my vehicle to chevy to have the known recall on this vehicle repaired but chevy claims that they will not do anything for me. I am afraid that the car can potentially catch fire and burn my home down as I park this car in my driveway. With this being a known recall for this vehicle, can I please have this fixed immediately!!!! I have already replaced my tools that have been damaged, please just have this fixed or id likely take further steps after this. I have been going back and forth with GMC and chevy for over 7 days now! just recently, my car was producing sparks from the trunk area, this is not good!!!.
I started for the first time in early June of having reduced engine power. At this time I get several warrning lights on dashboard. I get engine power is reduced, traction control and engine light. The car goes into limp mode. I replaced the accelerator pedal position sensor after the first event. Since this time I had it happen 4 more times. This situation can be dangerous if a car is behind me and I slow up real quick due to going into limp mode. I try to pull over where I can when this happens. Once I pull over for 10 minutes the car will resume like normal driving with just the engine light on. The next day the engine light usually leaves. It is hard to know when this will occur but it can be a dangerous situation to be in.

Passenger side blind spot monitoring light consistently stays on even when no cars are next to me. Dangerous specially on the freeway. Took it to dealership said it wasnt covered. Notice the samething happening to alot of the Impala online. Please help.
The stabiltrac light comes on,sometimes I lose power. Sometimes the back up camera doesn’t work. Sometimes the parking brake light comes on the dash. Then ieverything will suddenly go away and everything is fine, only to have the same problems. This has been happening for months. I took it to the dealer multiple times and they are unable to fix it.
I put my car in reverse and the car turned off and have turn back on. When I try to start it, I don’t hear any fix or crank. Before this happened, my car was slow to change gear or it would will change so fast that my car will lose control and I did not feel safe at all.

The car at lights act like it does not want to go which can cause a wreck.
As I was driving home from my place of employment which is exactly 30 miles from where I live my steering assist went out and it was very hard to steer and to even stay in the lane which I was driving I managed to get the car home and did an under carriage inspection and there was no damage still kind of shaken from the power steering going out I checked for the power steering pump and the power steering fluid reserve but found out through my owner's manual that I have electronic power steering I took the car by my local Chevrolet dealer and was told it was nothing they could do because they knew nothing about how to repair such a problem the only warning lamp that I received was a message that said power steering service drive with care.
Water leaking in trunk through the gaskets by brakes lights shorts out brakes lights and stops them from working as well as builds a poodle. Where the spare tire is and rust the bottom .
My dealer is charging me $1606 for 2 sidevew detection modules caused by water damage and corrosion and that’s not covered under my extended warranty for my 2015 chevy Impala ltz 108k miles my cars has trouble starting and I have no working dash indicators no speed no gas no temp no rpm’s air bag light on and trac control on light . No turn indicators and no heat or ac and key fob don’t work unless I insert key fob arm rest slot all because of the sideveiw modules wow that is mind blowing $453 to diagnose and $1606 to fix.
My car has had a the side detection modules fail every 1 to 2 years since I've owned the car new in 2014. The dealership has repaired it for free every time now for at least 5 times. Now that the car is not under warranty they refuse to fix it for free. This is a problem with the design and engineering of the car and it is very costly to fix. The problem will continue to occur since the manufacturer refuses to find a permanent solution to the issue. It is related to the placement of the unit and it is affected by the environment and corrodes.
System failed suddenly stabilitrac , abs power steering, side detection all flashed on dash . Had to replace computer to restore power steering and stabilitrac and abs . Side detection a safety item still inoperative.
The contact owns a 2013 Chevrolet Impala. The contact stated that the driver 's side power master door lock switch was inoperable. The messages "monitor tie system" and "monitor battery system" were displayed. The contact stated that the windshield wipers were working at a slower pace than needed, and on other occasions, both the windshield wipers and the horn would engage independently and the wipers would work faster than needed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the ecm needed to be reprogrammed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 111,366.

While driving the car it would pop up a message saying “engine power reduced”. Today while driving it home it popped up with a message saying “starting disabled, service throttle” and then the car wouldn’t drive and I had to pull over on the side of the road. For months now when I drive and accelerate at times the car would almost grind. I believe it has to do with the traction control or the transmission.
The right turn signal bulb keeps blowing. Break lights were stuck on. I got pulled over because the blinker wasn't working and parking light wouldn't go off. The officer was nice because I had just got the car and didn't give me a ticket, just a warning. Blinker on passenger side won't work with lights on and fuses for that side keeps blowing.
Both taillights are leaking through a gasket in the taillights causing pooling of water in the majority of the trunk and through two layers of carpet. This is causing mold to grow in trunk.
Service side detection notice came on, after replacing twice. While driving on the highway my speedometer dropped to zero. My odometer stopped advancing. My blinkers stopped working, as did my radio. Speedometer went to 12 (while driving at highway speeds) stayed at 12.
My 2013 Impala ltz service traction control, service stabilitrack, engine power reduced problem lights came on the dash. Almost had an accident I want to know why the 2013 model of Impala has not had any recalls as the 2010 models with same issues. . . . . My vehicle has the same major issue and need to be addressed & recalled. . . . . . The 2013 Chevrolet Impala ltz need to be recalled to fix this issue for the safety of my family and the families on the road and highways. . . . . . . . I can't express more the need of recall for my vehicle!!!!! I attached documents on the pervious 2010 model recall that had the same issues. . . . If you think Chevrolet dealership fixed the problem on the 2013 Impala model it didn't work cause I have same issues!!!!!.
