One day I was driving my car home making a right turn and my engine started making noise and was acting as if it was going to cut off. So I parked my car called my mechanic he came over and looked at the car I said it could be a possible rocker arm that has gone in the car or I could have something to do with the check engine light coming on giving me a code for a cam positioning sensor / solenoid. Also when I purchase the car not too long after me driving I noticed there was some noise coming from my back tires. I couldn't figure it out for a while until one day I looked at my tires and noticed that on the inside there was a considerable amount of scraping going on wearing away my tread. It would always seem to happen when I got new tires on the car so I thought maybe the tires were too big for the car but I ordered what the manufactor suggested the tire size should be for the car. So I had a tire specialist look at it and an alignment specialist look at it and they told me that the suspension springs may be causing my issue. They said that I should not have to change the size of my tire for them to fit because the manufacturer specifications are correct and the tires were the right size for the car.

For the past 3 mo. Upon starting the vehicle I hear a "pop" noise. It only happens every once in a while in the morning or the evening when I get off work. Sometimes it will go a week or more without making the sound. The sound will not repeat itself if I immediately turn the car off and restart it. The 1st time I took it to the dealership, they siad nothing was wrong & they didn't hear the "pop". The 2nd time they said it was the exhaust so they repalced some hoses, the 3rd time, in which the "pop" was more frequent and louder, they said it was the starter sticking. After replacing the starter, a week later, I still hear the "pop" upon starting it. The vehicle is not in motion when this happens. Obviously, they don't know what the problem is if they diagnosed it as the exhaust first & then the starter and it's still making the same noise after servicing both said problems. I am very frightened about this problem because 7 mo. Ago my Buick park Ave caught fire on me in my garage upon starting it and hearing the same "pop" noise. A coworker of mine has the same kind of car and is experiencing the same problem. I am almost sure we aren't the only two consumers who is experiencing this issue. I purchased the carm on 04/07/2017 and this problem started about the 1st to 2nd week in August after my 1st oil change. Please look into this, too many cars are catching fire and people are being hurt and even killed.

We own both a 2011 and a 2013 chevy Impala. Both vehicles grind and hesitate. They both act this way while taking off from a light, backing out of the driveway and then putting it in drive and any other time it feels necessary to do so. Except while being checked by the mechanic. We owned a 2007 Impala that did the same thing. Our remedy, push the traction control button to the "off" position. Stopped making the noise and no longer hesitates after putting it in drive. Of course, we have to do this each and every time we get in the car. No more buying chevy's for us.
I have noticed when taking off from a stand still the rpm are high and the engine is very loud and noisy. It seems as I am driving with a v-8 or even a diesal engine. I am sure gm has been notified of this as well as some of the other complaints I have reviewed has stated the same thing. Something needs to be done about the idiling of the rpms when your just taking off at a normal speed and the reduction of the engine noise as well. My 2002 Impala with 136k miles on it sounded better than this and it needed some work done to it. I thought I would at least get the best quality from upgrading to something more up to date but was very disappointed. If your going to pay good money for a vehicle you should have a decent car that doesn't sound like a piece of crap. Can gm get it to where it is running as good as it looks?.

Tried to start car, wouldn't turn over even though car had power, no noises or sounds made when trying to turn over even though I had full power to radio winders doors and electric dash board. Had a new starter put in because I thought that was the issue. 2 weeks later security light comes on while driving and stayed on. Tried to turn car on same thing happened have power. But no turn over and security light is still on. Turned off car took out keys and left car alone came back later and car started w/o incident. No security light on. Same issue keeps happening maybe 4 times a month if not more have to wait 10 mins in order for car to start. Issue happens at gas station, home, work, hot and cold weather. Before I figured out 10 min delay had car towed and spent money on repairs that aren't necessary. Noticed one day while I sat in car for 10 mins in summer heat with 3 month daughter, that car makes a sort of computer humming/buzzing sound. After the 10 or so I hear a click or as I call it a shut down sound and then I am able to start car.

My 2005 Chevrolet Impala LS, when it had 235 miles on it had to be taken into the dealer because engine noise, "broken rocker pivot arm" got the car back, ran rough, vehicle stalled out at stop lite, restarted ok, rear window rubber trim coming off. Car now has 2300-miles on it.

All probs with 2004 Impala ss started after 3 months of puchase date. There were less than 3,000 miles on car. 1st incident - while making right turn at 20 mph, car died 1/2 way through turn. The steering wheel locked and ended up going into oncoming traffic. Luckily made it to opposite side of road w/ harm. Car wouldnt start at all. Dealership service dept. Replace crank shaft position sensor. 2nd incident - approx 3 weeks after 1st, I was stopped to drop passenger off, car started to shake and idle was high, 2 seconds later car died. Car restarted this time, driving home about 35mph car died in heavy traffic, steering locked and had to struggle to get car over to side of road. Car would not restart this time. Dealership service dept again replaced the crank shaft position sensor. 3rd incident - got the car back on a Friday afternoon, the car died again while driving by Saturday nite. Dealership service dept looked a little further than crank shaft position sensor this time and repaired loose pin connections in ignition coil module connector. 4th incident - 2 months after all this, cigarette lighter doesnt work, lights dim when power windows put up, dash board sensor that gets off when low fuel light/ low tire pressure light comes ondoes not reset. Car still feels sluggish. Loud scratching noiseoccurs when wheels turned all the way in one direction. Everything fixed b/c of blown fuse. Scraping noise coming from loose clip in tire wheel well. Deealership stated car was running fine and there was no perforamance problems. This has happened over the last 6 months. Car presently has 4500 miles on it. Oh and Chevrolet roadside assistance absolutely horrible. And then to top everything off the dealership makes it seem like all of these problems are caused by the driver, by asking well what gas do you use and how fast do you drive on the highway. This car is an Impala ss. The car is supposed to be built for performance.
