This vehicle is dangerous! ive reported some other mechanical failures that put me in danger but not all and they still have yet to stop happening. Ive spent over 10k repairing and replacing steering, suspension drive train/ drive axle and chassis components. But nothing has helped. As of late I keep getting alignments and replaced 2 tie rods struts control arms and wheel hub and bearings only to have my tires wear down unevenly and quickly in 2 weeks. I purchased the tires brand new 6 months ago. With a new wheels and front outter tie rods as well (which I again replaced 2 weeks ago). Also replaced in 2019; front and back brake assembly (shoes, pads, rotors) front and back (both sides) control arms, left and right front strut and spring assembly. New cv axle and front hub bearings full assembly left and right (2 weeks ago)additional left front strut and spring assembly (2 weeks ago). This list is just off the top of my head because there are more repairs; too many. Yet, the car keeps loosing steering and falling apart quicker every day. Plus, the inspection expires next month and it did not pass due to emmissions system issues. It is a 2012 & should not be problematic yet. I only keep repairing it because I am still financing since being ripped off by dealership at 23% Apr on top of overcharged 2xs blue book. Which has me far too upside down to trade in or even sell privately. I wouldn't sell it to my worse enemy anyway. Chevrolet should have to answer for their failure. Hard working people put trust in manufacturers and depend on their cars. I may lose everything because of mine but not without a fight and legal counsel. My next step is to contact a class action law firm to procure counsel for these matters. GMC, the NHTSA, and auto repair businesses (ie. Firestone complete auto care) will be contacted regarding the issue as well. Thank you.

Since 2017, upon starting my car I get all of the following alert msgs "service stabilitrak", *service brake assist" and "service traction control" on my dashboard. I've had the car into les schwab and error code diagnostics done both before and after both front hub assemblies were replaced. The same service messages still continue to appear on the dash. Les schwab has checked the hub sensor wires repeatedly and all error codes and find them to be ok. They find the car to still have a crunching noise coming from the front end of the car, most markedly when turning the wheel to the left, but can also be heard when there is a drop in elevation, as when existing a parking lot into a slightly lower roadway. On June 14,2019, while the car was in motion and turning right at a stoplight, the same situation occurred as has when I make a left turn. The car suddenly acted as though the brakes were being applied very hard and then the car halted briefly with traffic behind me as though it would stall out. I applied the accelerator till I forced the car to move around the corner and after about a minute of fighting braking resistance, I was able to regain normal 40 mph speed with the flow of traffic. This occurred on dry pavement with no precipitation. Outside temperature was around 100 degrees. Best driving conditions with no rough roadway. Les schwab said the problem with the hub sensor and left turning is a known problem to them and said they wish it would be made a recall item as it is a common problem now. I don't feel safe driving this chevy Impala. Love my car but won't take a chance on purchasing same make and model. I wasn't so surprised when researching these issues on the internet to find huge number of owner's having the same problems.

Tl-the contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Impala. The contact stated that while driving 50 mph that the abs and service power steering warning light illuminated with causing the steering wheel to seized . The contact stated that he pulled the vehicle over and shut the vehicle off and restarted the vehicle and the failure went away. In addition, two days later the steering failed and the warning signals re illuminated. The vehicle was driven to the local dealer(walker Chevrolet, carothers pkwy, franklin, TN, 37067) with controlling the steering wheel ( manually/ forcefully) no power steering. The vehicle was diagnosed that the rear passenger wheel bearing failed and that there was no connection to the power steering. The passenger rear bearing hub and assembly was replaced. The manufacturer was contacted under case number: 3522687465 and made aware of the failure, and stated that they had contacted the dealer and that the dealer reassured the manufacturer that the vehicle was repaired, however no further assistance was offered. The failure mileage was approximately 70,017. Jb.

Used car purchased with approx. 72,000 miles. Major problems became apparent at 73,000 miles approx. Grinding clunking squealing noises were 1st warning signs. All of these noises occur anytime the vehicle is being driven, intermittently, but everytime I turn left or right. The ac/heater went out because the blower motor failed. Handling was horrible so replaced most of suspension parts but alignment repeatedly goes out and mechanics are idiots so they just say they are stumped and send me away. That prompted me to research on my own. I looked up the symptoms and have concluded that the hub bearings need to be replaced. Which I cannot afford seeing as how I just spent a few grand on other repairs. Then I found out that the transmission is failing which makes it jerk when accelerating, drive very sluggish, and makes loud noises at idle and in motion. There is more problems that would take too long to list. I continue to research all of this vehicles complaints and problems and it seems like it is time for a real recall! gm should be held accountable for making such a nightmare of a car. I just purchased the car from a dealership for $10,000 one year ago and still owe $8,600. Just had the car appraised at $3,000, so I am upside down $5,500. I cannot trade it in, cannot afford perpectually repairing and would not because it seems like there is no end. It is parked now because I cannot drive it anymore, so I cannot get to work and may have to have it repossesed. This is not right!.
The contact owns a 2013 Chevrolet Impala. While accelerating from a stop position, a grinding noise was heard and the vehicle jerked. The abs, traction control/stabilitrak, and brake assist warning indicators illuminated. Also, a message warning of icy conditions appeared, but the weather was sunny and clear. The contact mentioned that the failure occurred on several occasions. The vehicle was taken to a dealer several times where it was diagnosed with brake and hub bearing failure. The brakes and hub bearings were replaced, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was 52,000.

The contact owns a 2013 Chevrolet Impala. While driving 25 mph, the electronic stability control warning indicator illuminated. While attempting to make a right turn, the front driver's side wheel seized, and the contact's vehicle was rear ended by another vehicle. There were no injuries and a police report was not filed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed, but the mechanic was unable to retrieve a fault code. While test driving the vehicle, the mechanic experienced the failure. The contact was informed that the front driver's side wheel hub assembly, stabilizer bar, the front driver and passenger side tie rods, and brakes should be replaced to mitigate the failure. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 80,000.
I took my car to the dealership because I had a few noises from the front end. One was a clunking noise when I reached speeds of approx 25 mph, the front end was making a popping noise, when I would back up then pull forward there was a grinding noise, and also a few times when I would make a left hand turn it was like my car was stuck for a few seconds with the motor revving, but wouldnt move. When it finally would, it would shoot forward and I almost lost control of the vehicle. When I took it to the dealer, I was told both lower control arms and the right front hub had excessive play, the front engine, rear engine, strut mount, and transmission mount were torn, the front timing cover and the steering gear rack were leaking and all needed to be replaced. So much for spending so much money for a car to reliably get me and my kids from point a to b safely. Thankfully the dealership is helping me out so I can affords to get my car fixed, and its still costing me $2000. The car only has 60,3023 miles on it.
The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Impala. While driving 30 mph, the abs light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer who diagnosed and replaced the left magnetic ring, which had detached from the vehicle. While driving approximately 30 mph again, the abs light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the same dealer who diagnosed and replaced the passenger side hub assembly, which fell off. The vehicle was fully repaired. The failure mileage was 41,500.
The contact owns a 2003 Chevrolet Impala. While the vehicle was parked the contact noticed the abs and the check traction system light illuminated on the instrument panel. There was also a grinding noise while driving. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing who stated that the front passenger side hub bearing assembly had to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 150,000.

I have a 2002 chevy Impala. I have so many problems with is car since the moment I drove it off the lot. In my opinion, the whole car should be recalled. But, I am only going to file a complaint on my current issue. This is the second time this has happened to my car. About a year ago, I starting hearing a roaring sound coming from the front of my car when I drove down the road. It was really strange because it sounded like the engine, but the noise was not cause from pushing the gas, just the tires driving down the road. I took it to a local automotive center. They informed me that it was the hub bearing located near my tire. They told me it was so bad that my tire would have fallen off while driving, which could have a caused an accident. They fixed it, charging me $350. Now, last month (Nov 08), I started hearing that same noise. I already know that it's the same problem, but unsure if its coming from the same side or not. It is so bad that when I am going around a curve while driving, the whole car shakes and rattles. I cannot afford to get this fixed again. I have children and am very concerned for our safety. I just think that this is a very serious problem and could be dangerous. I do think that chevy should recall this.

Rear wheel hubs and bearings are making noise. Inside the hub there is a bearing which holds the tire/wheel on, and bolts to the rear axle were causing the problem. This wheel assembly was already replaced at 60,000 miles. The abs light and service traction system light comes on and off. Consumer has had the bearings replaced 2 months ago at consumer's expense. Currently, the bearings are in need of replacement after on 6,000 or 7, 000 miles.
On may 15, 01 took vehicle to a local Chevrolet dealer in reference to the humming noise coming from my wheels. They found right front strut was bottoming out and collapsing with hitting bump and left front hub bearing was roaring. Both of these where replaced at no cost as vehicle was still under waranty. I asked about the rear wheels and was told they where fine. On this date November 05,01 only 6 months later I had to take my car back to the same dealer in my area for the same thing that should have been fixed in the first place. This time they found right rear bearing and hub was bad. This was replaced at a cost of 544. 60. Due to the fact that I have an extended warranty on this vehicle I only had to pay the deductible. I should not have to have paid anything had this been fixed in the first place. I also have to purchase a new tire as this problem caused my tire to be cupped in the inside and therefore I still have the humming noise even though problem was supposedly fixed. I have two more wheels to go, any suggestions?.
