Purchased vehicle and the following day the right front headlight went out and had to be taken in for electrical problem. Later about 4 months after purchase the air bag in the front passenger seat started to make a knocking sound and then stopped. Just recently it began making the knocking sound again when I open my car door, as well as close it. It lasts about 3 minutes and then stops.

Tl the contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Impala. While driving 55 mph, the door locks kept locking and unlocking, the headlights went out, and the electrical system stopped working. In addition, the vehicle stalled. The contact stated that he replaced the battery, but the vehicle stalled again. An independent mechanic diagnosed that the blind side sensor was corroded and informed the contact to unplug the wiring harness from the blind side sensor. After unplugging the wiring harness, the vehicle was operable. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer for diagnostic testing or repairs. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 55,000.

When my side detection monitoring system failed a few months ago I took it to a local dealer. They responded telling me that, unfortunately, the design for this sensor module/harness is completely flawed. The sensors are located in the rear bumper, with plastic housing. There is no weather protection, even though these are directly behind the tires and are exposed to all weather - plus I live in IL so we're talking rain, snow, salt, etc. It's two sensors and the harness. I couldn't afford the $1200 repair, so I figured I would just have to deal with the loss of the safety feature and ignore the warning light. Last week, all of my warning lights came on - theft detection, front camera, airbag, stabilitrack, etc. My windshield wipers, turn signals, locks and headlights were all going haywire, and at one point while driving all of my gauges went to zero (no speed limit, rpm, gas gauge, anything) and my heat went out, turn signals stopped working and my headlights went out. Immediately took it to another dealership hoping that maybe my battery (factory original)/wiring might be the cause. No such luck. As it turns out the side detection modules are now corrupting all sensors and electrical systems including my air bags! the dealership confirmed that the side detection modules had failed and were causing the chaos that is occurring with all of my other warning systems, and that my air bags no longer worked. My air bags don't work because of this, nevermind the extreme danger in having a system go haywire while I'm driving! I'm at nearly 100,000 miles so I'm well past any warranty that would cover this, but I have been reading forums and carcomplaints and it turns out that this is a really common issue. The cost of the diagnostics, cost of the repair, and anticipated costs of subsequent repairs is ridiculous considering it is a known design flaw.
The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Impala. While driving 30 mph, the headlights turned off and on. The contact made an appointment with mike smith Buick GMC (6014 s transit rd, lockport, NY 14094, (716) 625-8235) for diagnostic testing. The contact stated that the failure first occurred last year. The dealer diagnosed that there was an electrical failure, and the wires were burnt and corroded. The contact stated that the electrical wiring harness was replaced. The manufacturer was notified by a letter that was mailed by the contact, but no response was received. The failure mileage was approximately 39,000.
Low beam head lights keeps blowing out sometimes all head lights go out. I replaced all lights and they keep going out. Sometimes the bright lights come on when I turn on signal.

The hi beam headlights failed, which made the lo beam headlights go out when the hi beam was engaged. Repair service found a corroded "pin" in a multi-pin electrical connection. This is a "protected" connection, in the engine compartment, it has been corroded for a very long time according to the electric serviceman. He informed me the other "pins" will fail also effecting the wipers and other "necessary" safety components, because of the condition of this connector.

Driving down the road with my high beams on, my headlights went out completely. My low beams work ok but if I use high beams they randomly go out. This is the second gm vehicle I have had with this problem. The mechanic at the gm dealership said 4 of his 6 family members have had same problem. A former CO-worker had same problem. I contacted gm and was told my car was to old for them to fix it. . .

I was on my way home from work when my driverside head light went out so I stopped and bought a new bulb at the closest store when I replaced the bulb the light still didnt come back on then the dtr light also started having issues the only time you get any lights on the driver side is when you move the entire headlight assembly around then you get dim lighting so for the past couple months we havent been able to use our car at night. I keep checking for recalls but I havent seen any and we have always had problems with our dtr lighting including the ones that control our dash lights. Cause we have none they work during th eday when they want too but at night we have no lights in our dash. Also the drivers side heated seat has quit working. It all occured roughly around the same time. Nobodys been able to fix the issues.

I was driving at approximately 40 mph on a straight roadway with brights on when the headlights went out. This occurred in the early morning while it was still dark out. The parking lights remained on. Pulling the headlight switch on the left side of dash to the "manual on" position did not help. I turned on the fog lights and returned home using the fog lights only. Upon arriving home, I was able to get the headlights to work again by switching to high beam and back. This has been an intermittent problem for this vehicle in the past month. The multifunction switch felt like it was fully engaged and gave an audible click when pulled. I have ordered a replacement multifunction switch to repair this.
I was driving on the interstate and my headlights went out. I flashed my brights and they came back on. It has done this multiple times since.

While driving on the freeway on a black night the headlights suddenly went out completely. The dash lights remained on and everything else was normal. After braking to an emergency stop I discovered that if I flicked the dimmer switch the lo-beam would come on. Some time later, when I flicked the dimmer switch the hi-beams came back on. This situation happened periodically since then but I could also regain some light by flicking the dimmer. On September 4, 2015 on a busy highway at night the lights went out and I could not flick the dimmer switch. It would not click. It seemed to be jammed so no lights. At present I have headlights (bright only) if I hold the dimmer switch up. As soon as I let it go all lights go out.
Driving on grande blvd tyler TX, on my way to work, headlights turned off completely, turned the high beams on and the headlights came back on.
