I have a 2014 chevy Impala ltz, owned it for 9 years. Just started with issues within the last 6months and it just seems to be getting worst everyday. While making a left turn, not even driving 5mph my power steering fails and the drivers side tires seem to lock up as if the car would be hydro planing. Once it happens the dashboard alerts come on such as stabilitrac, traction control, abs, service break assistance, power steering, and I lost control of the car in the middle of the road!! brought the car to the shop they change the wheel bearings. We also changed the brakes in March of this year, we had a front and back realignment plus new tires within the last 6 months. The dealer we got it from is no longer in business, as I did buy it used. I called the Chevrolet 800 number for recalls but no luck finding anything. After searching year/make/model I found similar issues to other "2014 chevy" within the last couple of years. This is a serious issue and it can become dangerous while driving with my family in the car. I can't afford another vehicle as this car is my reliable vehicle.

When getting of the exit from the high way my steering wheel locked up. We were going about 40-50 getting into a slow speed from the highway. I struggled with turning the wheel just to get off of the ramp. And then a sign came up saying service power steering drive with care. It’s showing that my vehicle doesn’t have a recall for this. But this is absolutely not safe at all. I had my 2 infants and 7 year old in the vehicle.
Electrical issues, radio volume disappears for a short period of time, turn signal audible noise disappears at same time radio volume stops, power sterring assist stops working for short time, sterring issue repaired in 2016 but doing again, ac cooling stops working for short time period, off and on, seems to be some type of electrical issue with the vehicle, purchased new in 2014, only 32,000 mile on car at present, every time taken to dealer will not reproduce the problem, called gm states recall 14515 is not part of my car, I question that in that this recall is for electrical issues. Can not seem to get any furthur with anyone on this issue.
While waiting to make a left turn when traffic cleared I pressed the gas pedal and heard a loud grinding noise and the car would not move for 2 or 3 seconds and suddenly moved. Very dangerous. Car forums have many of the same incidents with great difficulty in resolving this problem and after several years no answers. This is life threatening issue.

Due to a poor electrical ground connection to the power steering control module, the vehicle has been losing power steering assist during start up and while driving; this requires much greater effort for me to steer the vehicle even at low speeds, and is increasing the risk of a crash for me and my family.
Power steering issue. . Was a recall with this model vehicle back in 2014. . Car has electrical power steering and its affecting my steering on my car.
The contact owns 2014 Chevrolet Impala. The contact stated that while driving at 55 mph, she suddenly lost all power steering assist without warning. The contact used excessive force to steer the vehicle to the side of the highway. The vehicle was then towed to a dealer where they diagnosed the failure and gave her an estimate for the repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed her that vehicle was repaired under NHTSA campaign number: 14v450000(steering) prior to her owning the vehicle. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was unknown. The VIN was not available.
I was driving on the highway at about 60 miles per hour and my power steering went out without warning. The car was stiff and difficult to move and put the life of myself and my child in danger as well as others on the highway at the time. I took the car to a shop and they confirmed that the steering rack had failed or was near failure. It wasn't until I was able to navigate off the highway after driving to a jiffy lube that the light ultimately came on.

I've gotten my stabiltrac serviced and it came back on.
Power steering.
When making left turns the car will make a loud grinding noise and will stop momentarily; it says it is due to the traction control on the dash. It is extremely unsafe when making a turn while a car is coming and there's nothing you can do. Also while making left hand turns the wheel will sometimes lock and you can't manually move the steering wheel. You have to turn off the car and wait sometimes 10+ minutes then the wheel will unlock. Now when I go to start my car it starts shaking and making a loud noise and rev low. After about 1 minute it will completely turn off and it will say service stabilitrak and service traction control.
I was driving down the road at night and attempted a right hand turn when my power steering quit. The warning light on the dash came on. I almost got rear ended by cars coming from behind. I called the previous owner to see if they had ever had this happen. They stated it had happened once. They said they turned off the ignition and waited about 1/2 hour then cranked the car and the problem was solved. That’s what I did and it worked. Since this is an intermittent problem the service tech could not help.

My wife got locked in the car on a 80 plus degree day and could not get out, doors would not open, trunk release would not open trunk so she could crawl there the back seat, sunroof would not open, power steering periodically feels like there is no power stearing, dash lights periodically shut off when driving. . Yes, morries forest lake Chevrolet and cadilac. Forest lake. Mn. . . No it has not been inspected by anyone but the dealer. . . There were no warning lights untill 51,000 miles or 8 months ago.
There is a known issue with the shift lock release. The cable will fail in many 2006-2013 Impala's. The vehicle will not get out of park. Another well known issue is the blend door actuator. It is a noise that comes from the dash/heating/cooling due to chevy using cheap plastic parts.

The service power steering came in on the dash, also along with service stabiltrak and the abs light heard these are common and play together , mainly the service power steering which caused the vehicle to be become almost impossible to steer I heard there where recalls on this same situation as it is a huge safety concern . It makes it very dangerous in highway or roads as it is very hard to steer.
While driving 45 mph, my car jerked and several lights came on in my dashboard including the light with the little wrench ??. In my dashboard, it displayed the message to check stabili track and steering power system and to drive with care. My car then started loosing power to accelerate. I had my vehicle towed to the dealership the next day and they stated that they cleared the codes but didn’t tell me what the codes were and they kept my vehicle for 5 days and said they couldn’t get the vehicle to act up. Now this issue has happened again and a message in my dashboard is saying to check the power steering and drive with care. I had no warning signs prior to this issue.
I parked my car at work and worked a full day Saturday the 13th of November. I go out to start my vehicle and 3 warnings appear all at once. Stabilitrak, abs, and power steering. Reading online I’m not the only one but with only 109,xxx miles it’s kind of bs that there’s obviously an engineering flaw with these vehicles and I probably will give a few car payments worth to get this fixed. I’ve owned this vehicle since 17,xxx miles.
While driving at 70mph on i10 in ms I experienced loss of power steering in heavy traffic. I received a notification on the dashboard of a problem, but it was difficult to maintain control of the vehicle and maneuver to the right lane to exit. The car was difficult to drive but I managed to pull into a large gas station and shut it down and ask for directions to a chevy dealer. The power steering returned when I restarted the vehicle and a chevy dealer was several miles away, but the dealership personnel advised me to continue the trip since I reset the system, but could not tell me if it would reoccur. I drove another 250 miles to get home and did not have another incident. But after checking online forums I notice other such issues and this is quite dangerous at high speed and heavy traffic.
Power steering failure.
Around the first of October I was headed home with my family. As we were merging over to exit lanes to get on the ramp to exit the freeway the power steering failure light came on and simultaneously all my power steering was gone. I literally lost control control of my car. I was in the midst of turning when the car swerved and at 70 mph it was very dangerous situation. My wife and I had just switched driving places several miles back. She panicked and said she couldn't imagine what she would have done if that had happened to her. She also swore to never drive that car again. I don't know how many times this has happened to others but I can say with all honesty this is a very serious problem. There wasn't an accident but I did cause everyone near me on the road to swerve and brake suddenly to avoid colliding with my vehicle. As of today the car hasn't been repaired and I haven't relayed this to the dealership. That being said even if they were for some miraculous divine reason to repair it for free the danger of this occurring again is still there. This feature is dangerous and I pray something is done about it.
The vehicle had a sudden loss of power steering. No warnings or indications of any isues just immediate loss of the ability to steer.

Q-has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? a-firestone has inspected my car. Q-has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? a-no my vehicle has not. Q-were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? a-no warning signs of any kind. This started within the last month or two.
