Side detection system failure. I have had 3 harness replacements on driver side. 2 harness replacements on passenger side, and a module replacement just 2 years ago. This failure causes my instrumentation to shut off, turn signals not work, and shuts off cruise control when in use. I have read outher more extreme cases like engine compartment fires or car shutting off while driving. I believe all these should be considered safety issues. I have owned this vehicle since new.
I started my vehicle in the morning to let it warm up. I come back out to get myself and my son in the vehicle to go to work and take him to school. My dash upon entry had a check engine light on, and the message it displayed was "engine power reduced. " I put my car into reverse, having no choice but to drive it and the traction control went out. My father in law pulled the code and it said something about the accelerator sensor. This is a known issue and recall in other models and I wanted to report it is also happening in my model.
The contact owns 2018 Chevrolet Impala. The contact stated while driving 45 mph, the accelerator pedal was depressed but was inoperable. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and a dealer and was diagnosed with transmission failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 98,000.

After getting into my parked car and starting it, the stabilitrak warning message came on my display. This is the 2nd tike that this occurred. The first time it occured, my mechanic diagnosed it as a failed throttle body, which I replaced myself, (easy removal/installation). Now, a couple of months later, it occurred again. After doing some online research, it seems as though the position sensor on the accelerator pedal may be at fault. A lot, if not most cars today have a "fly-by-wire" system which replaces cables and such with sensors and motors. So, the accelerator, (gas), pedal controls the movement of the butterfly valve on the throttle body by sending a signal to the motor. I'm going to replace that. . . About $140 or so. I saw a youtube video and the removal/installation is fairly easy. A lot of people are having this issue; maybe a recall is needed?.

Unknown but I believe the sealed transmission is malfunctioning.
When at a stop and turning left it makes a grinding noise with hesitation in movement. The abs and traction control light comes on. When researching this, there are millions of these cars with the same thing. I have taken to 3 mechanics and no one can fix the problem.
While driving at 70 mph my car just shut off. The radio and lights stayed on. The oil and battery light came on before it just shut down. Steering locked up. When safely to side, and turned key off it starts right back up, but now traction system is off. Has gas and nothing is broken.

There is a current recall on chevy Impalas with the trans mod control system but my VIN number is not apart of the recall but my car is doing everything that recalls states. The recall number is 14v614000. The recall date 10-01-2014. My vehicle is 2014 and I have only had it for 2 years.
While driving the car it would pop up a message saying “engine power reduced”. Today while driving it home it popped up with a message saying “starting disabled, service throttle” and then the car wouldn’t drive and I had to pull over on the side of the road. For months now when I drive and accelerate at times the car would almost grind. I believe it has to do with the traction control or the transmission.

My vehicle has the same major issue and need to be addressed & recalled. . . . . . The 2013 Chevrolet Impala ltz need to be recalled to fix this issue for the safety of my family and the families on the road and highways. . . . . . . . I can't express more the need of recall for my vehicle!!!!! I attached documents on the pervious 2010 model recall that had the same issues. . . . If you think Chevrolet dealership fixed the problem on the 2013 Impala model it didn't work cause I have same issues!!!!!.

Was on highway in texas had to get over on shoulder quick car just slow down quick and pedal was to floor. Also keep failing state inspection due to failed obdii test ( see vir).

I've gotten my stabiltrac serviced and it came back on.
The electronic parking brake fails to disengage entirely from the rear brake pads causing them to become welded together. This results in extreme heat, excess brake dust, poor acceleration, and caliper / brake line (air) issues.
The 2014 chevy Impala is dangerous. When the rocker arm control valve and related parts fail or the camshaft solenoids and sensors fail the car will drive rough and eventually just cut off in the middle of traffic highway or residential. This is what it did on me, putting me in a very dangerous position. The economic loss is still devastating financially as all 2. 5 and 3. 6 engines arent covered by gm special warranty but they should be all covered. My VIN number was not included when it should be.
Service stabilitrak message displayed and reduced engine power to 0 mph while driving. Throttle body, accelerator pedal position sensor (whole pedal assembly), and ecm replaced. Issue continues. P2138, p2122, p2127 codes present. Stonebriar Chevrolet incompetent to resolve.
According to my obd scanner the components that are failed is the throttle body position sensor circuit a & the throttle body position sensor circuit b. Before this happened the check engine light was on for about a week, when I scanned the vehicle with the obd-ii the code for a large leak in the fuel evap system came up. One day while driving the vehicle I was stopped at a red light and once the light turned green I pressed the gas and the car started to sputter and move very slow also in the driver information center it intermittently showed the warnings service traction control and speed reduced. I had to pull over when safe to do so. Once I got the vehicle home I ran the scan again and it came up with the throttle body position sensor codes. The part is available for inspection. The safety of me and my passenger were in jeopardy we could've definitely been in an accident because it was so sudden when it happened. I have not taken the car to a dealer but an independent mechanic has looked at it. Vehicle has not been inspected by anyone other than me and an independent mechanic. This was a very scary experience and I have seen many forums with the same issues from gm cars. Your attention is needed and appreciated.

My car has started slowing down abruptly and displaying engine power has been reduced at random times, but has become more frequent. I have had an independent service center tell me it was the throttle body, so they replaced it. That didn't fix it, so they replaced the accelerator pedal/sensor. It still is happening and when on the interstate, it is so dangerous to slow down with no warning because you can get rear ended quite easily. This first started August 2021 when my wife and I started on a vacation and had to turn around and go home and is still happening, only more frequent. This past Saturday 7/16, I was traveling on interstate 77 and the engine power kept cutting down about every 10 minutes, so I had to pull over and cut the engine off for a while until it reset. I can't trust it to go anywhere.
Brake assist, traction control, stablitrack, and abs lights continually coming on. When breaking while making a turn the breaks slip or give and then suddenly grab hold causing a grinding sound. Car wobbles while these lights are on causing a noticeable change in stability and control.
Cruse control deactivates and won't reactivate while cruising at highway speeds. Seems to work again after shutting off and restarting. This has happened several times. Last time it happened the engine also died. Coasted to the side of road, waited a minute and car restarted and seemed fine, but happened a second time a few minutes later. I was on a state highway with light traffic so was in no immediate danger, but would hate for this to happen on a busy six lane interstate. No diagnostic codes were set by the computer system.

It was a recall issued in 2014 for stabilitrak for bad grounds on my chevy Impala and I went to chevy about it and paid for the diagnostics to check and they told me it was the transmission that I needed. Also, the paper doesn't tell me I needed a transmission fixed, so I took it to 3 different transmission shops and they said it was the ground that was bad. But I was not paying for it and it was a recall issued in 2014 that is happening and is happening to several others as well. I called the gm and asked if its anything they can do about it since it was unde recall they are saying no. And the I have to go pay for diagnostics again so they can see what it is because it may not be same and I did before and chevy said it was the transmission and the other shops said the transmission is in great shape it was the grounds thats bad and that if the issue was under a recall it should be done again. I take this as safety issue and it puts me and my family in danger and it is my only transportation . So I have my son picking me for work.

My car started putting an everything was dim while I was driving the brake light an check engine light both were on.
To whom it may concern: I have a 2009 chevy Impala with 100,000 miles on it. The 1st time this issue happened, I was driving slowly, on a side street, in July 2019. Out of the blue, the following warnings appeared: engine power is reduced, service stabilitrak, service traction control. Immediately my car started running horribly (it didn't want to go, was chugging, and almost felt like the transmission was slipping). I parked it. Later I started it and all warnings were gone, but the engine light was on. . The next day I started it and just the engine light was on. 3rd day I started it, engine light still on. Drove it to a shop,. Right before I pulled in, the light turned off! they scanned it anyway & said that nothing came up. The car has driven just fine, no warnings or lights until 11/25/2020. I was driving about 20mph, turned right on a side street and all of a sudden all of the exact messages as before came on. Vehicle immediately started running slow and "chugging"again. I parked it. When I started it again later, all the same messages were still there. It's definitely scary when this happens & since the 1st time it happened, I was nervous to drive it far because I wasn't sure when it may happen again. I went on a Chevrolet forum & read there was a recall for this issue. I was very pleased about that. I put in my VIN & it stated that there are no recalls. So I called gm this morning. The rep said they're aware of this issue, but there is not a recall for it. She then said that it would've covered by special warranty but unfortunately that was unavailable as of April 2019! her advice was to take it to a certified dealership and have it checked and fixed soon for my safety! I asked why there isn't a recall, if it's a known issue and she said I could talk to a customer experience manager at the dealership and maybe they could do something for me. Please help!.
When you start it the speed and rpm' s start jumping the coolant gadget waves at you then when you put it in reverse or drive it bumps when you driving you don't know how fast you going because of the gadget bouncing up and down to top it off its jumping the whole time you driving it.

This is not the first time this has happened. On the hwy going 60mph, all of a sudden my engine power is reduced and airbag light came on. The next day the air bag light and engine light are both on. Went to my mechanic for an inspection (which I failed due to the airbag) and he informed me to contact the dealership for recall. I did, only to find out the recall is closed and I can't get this fixed unless I come up with a lot of money. I explained I never got anything from the manufacturer about the recall. How can I get my car fixed on a closed recall?.
Stabiltrak abs traction control warning lights all come on vehicle shudders and power is reduced. Researched and found 100's of reports of the same issue with the Impala and similar complaints in the light truck and SUV models. Fix is relatively inexpensive if your mechanically / electrically inclined as involves splicing in a new wire harness for the abs sensor. Said harness is about $20 it shorts out due to insufficient gauge of wire used on original factory install. Replace harness has much sturdier gauge from what my research says. Repair shop quoted $700 to repair glad I told them to put it back together. They have a fleet of Impalas as loaners so they know they are gouging people when they say replace wheel hub assembly abs sensor and wiring harness when they know it's the abs sensor period. Chevy needs to do a recall. Issue happens when car is in motion after turning or going over a bump wiring that has been wore thru due to placement of wiring in a high friction area, wire wears through coating exposes wiring that shorts out and sends codes to computer concerning abs stabiltrak and traction assist causes vehicle to behave erratically others have reported caused vehicle to stall and not restart until problem corrected. I'm sure they are gouged for a thousand $ or more. Wet road conditions, extreme heat or cold, left turn while backing, jarring bumps, all trigger the dash to light up like christmas tree dinging alarm goes off steering shudders power is reduced. It's a huge distraction and safety concern for so many to be experiencing gm should stand up and take care of the problem.
Had issues with my 2007 Impala 3. 9l stalling and reducing power on my wife, and at times almost leaving her in or on the road. I have replaced the throttle body, throttle peddle ( twice ) and had the car flashed at the local gm dealer. Now the car not only reads reduced engine power it read starting disabled service throttle and died while she was driving down a busy highway during rush hour. . Causing her to almost be involved in a bad wreck. This seriously needs to have attention of whoever at gm is over safety, cause this issue will end up in a really bad situation if or when someone ends up seriously hurt or killed. I mean you really need to program them to slowly reduce power, not just tell you then shut off completely and have the driver fight and panic to get off the road through traffic, while not getting run over in the process. But if there is a fix we need to know.
When first purchased I had to change accelerator petal. When I took it to the shop I was told they get a lot of people w Impalas same as my year 2008 that needed to have the accelerator petal changed every so often because they would go out and it would cause the check engine light to go on and off because the vehicle was sending the wrong signals. I would drive on the highway and street it would cause reduced engine to come on and slow my car down almost leading into accidents because I did not know it was about to happen. It would come and go on as it wanted. The electrical part of the car is something in the car continues to drain my battery. Ive gotten a new battery and it still drains causing me to have to get it recharged. The suspension I was also told for the year of my car is bad. When purchased I found out that again people that purchased these years of vehicles had problems with the control arms and that I now have to take it to get fixed because one hit to a pot hole can cause the under part of the car to break and cause a bad accident. I did not know Impalas had this many problems. I seen the police Impalas for 2008 were recalled for suspension, but they all seem to share this common problem as well as the actuator continuously clicking. It seems to be an easy fix, but I shouldn't have to fix something that is a common problem for the Impalas.
The transmission go out at any time while you're driving it'll just stopped in the middle of traffic which can cause an accident the company Chevrolet new that they put bad transmission in those cars and lights blink on and off. Electrical issue the speedometer and the gas meter in moves by itself when the car is off and when you are driving the car it'll move by itself displaying accurate information and that's very dangerous I was on the highway in the transmission just went out in cars almost ran into me I like to buy that day because of the transmission everybody I know with this car has the same issue something really needs to be done about it before someone dies.
It keeps saying on the odometer electric stability control or track and lower the power. My car was on motion on a city street with cars all around us. I've read that several people were having trouble with the same thing. Why don't they recall.
The stabilitrak is making the car shake and act crazy. I'm barely in control of the car. There are thousands of more people having the same problem. The car reduces speed because of this issue. Many groups and blogs online about this. Why hasn't anything been done about this? no recalls or anything.
While driving my vehicle, the rpm goes to 4 or 5 while only attempting to do speed liming, it stalls and jerks as if someone is pulling on the vehicle as I try to accelerate. On the expressway, my vehicle struggles to hit 40mph - 60mph without it feeling forced and rpm at 5. It stalls to reverse sometimes and stalls to take off.
