The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Malibu. After fueling the vehicle, the contact started the engine and the gear shifter moved, but the gear indicator letters did not illuminate and the vehicle did not engage in gear. The vehicle had to be towed to the dealer (jimmy gray Chevrolet in south haven, mississippi) where it was diagnosed that the tcm caused the gears to go into default mode, which caused the vehicle to lose acceleration. According to the dealer, the vehicle was repaired; however, when the accelerator pedal was depressed the vehicle jerked violently. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and case number: 83794508813 was filed. The VIN was invalid. The approximate failure mileage was 49,780.

I was driving through the intersection and the vehicle just stopped while going about 15-20 mph. The check engine light came on and I attempted to push the vehicle. The abs has engaged and the vehicle would not move. Until giving gas and letting vehicle rev up to 4,000 rpm it jumped into gear and began to drive normal again. Now the vehicle drives but revs at 2-3 gear and then just slows down, there were 13 fault reads from cpu which were all transmission control module fault and cpu malfunction. This happened out of no where and standard maintenance does get performed. I am told my warranty expired 2 months ago because they said that's the month it went to the dealership. I thought it went off when the vehicle was driven off the lot. I am due to pcs in 56 days to a new duty station and now my family and I are in a bind, I love Chevrolet but I am at a loss right now with a very unsafe vehicle that will drive fine and out of no where rev up and just stop.

My husband was driving 65mph down hwy 75 and the engine just shut down, rolled to a stop and after a little while he got it started and we went on down the road. The next two weeks when driving, the car would just die and I would have to wait a bit to get it started. After dying in heavy traffic I took it to armbruster motor CO. In falls city nb. Where they said it was the ignition and put a new one on. Coming home going 60mph and nearing a curve the car died and locked up and I almost had a wreck. Armbruster motor took it back and put these parts on. 1each #19210069 pcm 3. 670,ach 19210069 core charge and 1 each 19210069 core return. Also parts: 1each 3157 bulb, and 1 each 3057 bulb. Parts and labor came to $663. 06 now the car works great and haven't had trouble since getting it back but there is always that fear of wrecking when I get on the highway now. Is this a manufacture defect? is this going to happen again? I feel that everyone should be warned about the chev malfunctions and how your life is one the line when you take a chev on the highway.
I was driving on the highway and out of no where the check engine light came on. My car than started to jerk like it was running out of oxygen, the car felt like it didn't want to shift in gear. . Took to have check and come to find out its the (tcm) transmission control module which isn't covered under warranty for and extra two thousand dollars from santander consumer and bronx Suzuki/victory in bronx, NY. I have been ripped off in a car payment that's more than the car is worth.

I purchased my car at robbins Chevrolet in houston, TX in 2001. I also purchased an extended warranty. I had been having acceleration problems with
the car from the start. Last month the car would not start. I took it to robbins
and they said it was the pcm module, which is under warranty. They said the pcm
that was in my vehicle was not for a chevy Malibu. Robbins said the pcm was for
a pontiac, which is a gm product. We have only had the vehicle serviced at robbins
& landmark chevy. Robbins wants us to pay for the pcm which is under warranty. I should not have to pay for a part that is under warranty. The part could have
came from the factory or switched at the dealership. Do I need to take leagal action
to get this problem solved??? the service director is tommy morton.
