While driving in the highway the car slowed abrubtly, the engine light came on, and the dash gave out engine power reduced. This has happened on more than one occasion while I was driving at a high speed. I pulled over and turned off the car to reset it. The first time the light went off on its own the second and therafter it did not. Had the accelerator pedal replaced once and 7 months later it is doing the same exact thing. This is very dangerous for me as a driver and those around me!.

When driving or parked the whole dash board will cut out completely resulting in loss of speedometer, gas gauge, temp gauge and tach. Sometimes it will come back on sometimes it does not for days, have to keep a speedometer app on my phone while driving now. Gm seems to be ignoring this issue as they do most electrical issues, I traded in a 2000 impala with electrical issues just to get another gm car with electrical issues at a higher price. I have called multiple dealerships and non of them seems to have an idea of what it could be which tells me gm is not even trying to find a root cause for the issue, they are more than willing to let me bring it in and have the whole system looked over at my cost though. Have been dealing with this for over a year now.

As I am driving down the road, the entire dashboard goes black, then it just lights back up as if I were just starting the car. . . All other functions regularly while the dashboard blacks out. . . The radio still works. This happens sporaducally meaning there is no rhyme or reason to it. . I am scared it will catch on fire.
Takata recall I have my car for less than 6 month dashboard is dead it jumps on and off from time to time , services lights are coming on , my steerling wheel is pulling to the right I can't let it go with it pulling and almost causing a wreck on the road.
My Malibu's dashboard will go out while driving the vehicle. No speed, odometer readings, fuel, temperature or digital speed display works. It will come on and work fine but will randomly go out while driving. Sometimes during start up the dash will not even start up with the car. This is a problem that customers should not be liable to fix. I have no aftermarket parts on this car and it has never been involved in a crash.
First my dash cluster went out nothing work had a new one put in after about two week it went out again had it at the dealer they don't know why. So I did not replace it this time because I don't know if it well happen again the cost to replace is on me. Now I'm having motor is having a oil leak bad found out why the valevtrain oil control passages integrated has come apart and they will not cover it on warranty said that I did not change the oil when it came time to do I have it change all the time at the dealer when it come time when light come on to tell me. This is high dollar to paid for it as they said top of the motor has to be taken apart. And they would not let gm know of this.
Dashboard cluster is out and goes in and out as well as the digital gear change. It started giving me transmition issues and now anything digital is completely out.

While driving the car at 55 mph it started jumping/skipping while I was driving on a 3 lane highway and then it just died. I couldn't get it in reverse and it wouldn't shift at all. The electrical information on the dash went out as well. I had to arrange a tow. I'm being told it needs a new transmission and there is electrical failure as well. The car has 86,000 miles on it and has been serviced routinely. How does a transmission go from working to dead in seconds?.

Starting before may 2015 and lasting until 11/19/15, the yellow warning dashboard lights, gauges, and dic would occasionally go berserk while driving. The first time this happened, I was on an interstate around 8am in the morning in may of 2015. At the same time during these episodes, the shifting of the automatic transmission would be jerky. The lights would "settle down" after long enough, but some combination of lights always remained on at the end of the episodes, such as the traction control light, check engine light, security light, and abs light. The car would seem to return to normal sometimes after being restarted. I had a Chevrolet dealership check it out in 5/15/2015 and they found nothing. Sometimes during these episodes, the power steering would also lose power. The problem returned and I had a mechanic check it out and he put in a new ignition switch 11/19/15. The car has not gone berserk since then, but the power steering does not always work reliably and the check engine light came on once, but went off. The coolant temperature gauge has failed to work twice since then too. The cruise control also temporarily stopped working.

The contact owns a 1999 Chevrolet Malibu. The contact stated that there was a random progressing failure in which the key moved out of position without warning. The vehicle was also able to start without the key in the ignition. The fuel gauge also failed to provide a proper reading for an extended period of time and the bulbs constantly shorted out, which caused the contact to have to replace the low beam head lamps several times. The contact later received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 14v400000 (electrical system) years after experiencing the failures. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but there was no permanent repair for the condition. The failures continued, including various warning lights flashed on the instrument cluster. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was 86,000.

We bought the car used with 34,000 miles on it in 3/2006. There was a clunking in the steering when the steering wheel was turned. The dealership replaced the steering column on 12/2007 with 66,000 miles. The clunking was still there and we were told that this is normal. Since then the steering has gotten worse. The dealership has tried to find the problem but says it can find nothing wrong. Yet sometimes the steering will lockup at low speed when backing up or turning while stopped. It has not done this while driving at road speed (or I would not drive it). However at road speed the steering is very vague. It requires an almost quarter turn of the steering wheel to get the car to respond to a steering input to turn left or right. This is not safe. There is also warning lights that come on the dash, and warning bells that sound, and sometimes they go back off other times car needs to shut off and restarted and it is ok then. Check engine light stays on most of the time, again dealership can not find the problem. Sometimes the whole dash cluster goes out, the car stays running and they come back on after a time and again if you cut off and restart the car it is ok again for a while. The car currently has 150,000 on it and I have an independent mechanic checking it over to see if he can find the problem. The Chevrolet dealership can't find what is wrong to fix it, or so they say.

While driving at 35 mph all gauges failed. Consumer didn't know the speed. Dealership inspected vehicle several times, and could not duplicate or correct the problem . Wanteds to buy the vehicle from the consumer.
I bought this car used, and have had problems since the day I drove it off the lot. Car was sold with "check engine" light on, and it took 2 repair visits for it to be fixed. Numerous minor problems have had to be fixed in the last 2 months that I have owned the car. New transmission put in at 69000 miles. Once I received the car back from the dealership, "check oil" light was on, but oil level was fine. Brought the car in to the dealership so the mechanic could reset it. After that, all gauges on the dash periodically quit working while driving, and mileage was not being recorded while gauges were out. When the gauges come back on, the "service vehicle soon" light is lit. The vehicle is currently at the dealership for repairs for this problem with the gauges for the 3rd time in the last month. I definitely feel that I got a lemon and am unhappy.
