My vehicle acts as if it doesnt want to start after being at a red light or stop sign when my feet is released off the break it takes a few seconds to start back up. Also I have issues with check engine light coming on took it to auto zone and they received a code dealing with the wiring on the battery not the actual battery needing to be replaced.

I been had this vehicle since 2018 nothing but issues few months having this vehicle I start experiencing issues with radio coming on and going off for no reason so took it to get looked at the said it was from wiring in the passenger side seat that was causing it so I paid $400 to get that fixed. But still was and is having same issues with electrical and now my heat comes on by itself even when the knob is in the off position. My passenger side seat belt warning goes off even when no ones in the seat. And to top it off my car been running bad engine overheating but nothing on my dashboard is telling me that but I can smell burning from my engine coming through my vents and it's exhausting. I have been to many shops to get it looked at but they keep saying nothing wrong no codes where coming up nor was my engine light on. But as of 3/29/2021 I had multiple icons pop up on my dashboard and now my engine light on. So I finally got a code p228d come up and I been explaining to auto shops that's something wrong because it's not wanting to pick up speed. So what can I do I'm tired spending money to get it looked at and all I'm getting from people nothing is wrong with your vehicle. But there is truly something wrong with this vehicle and it does this no matter where I'm at on highway, street, when I'm idle it's a loud noise and I can feel the heat from the engine coming through the floor of my vehicle.

Vehicle is stalling out while driving, then when shuts off it will not start back up. Fuel pump was replaced, worked great for 1 whole day then did the same thing, left me stranded. Fuse box was then replaced. Ran great again until recently it stalled out in the middle of a very busy street causing me to almost be hit. Pins in the fuse box were replaced, but I'm still having issues, it seems to be related to the fusebox wiring itself, because I'm also having problems with things ran off of that fuse box! this getting ridiculous I've only had this car 4 months and it's been the worst car yet I've never had a vehicle leave me stranded. It needs to be recalled.

2012 Malibu esc warning light, traction control goes on. Brake light stays on while driving. When I stop at light or stop sign no brake light. Have almost been hit from behind at stoplight. If I stop and shut car off for a few minutes it will start without warning light. Sometimes car does not start car has stopped while moving in traffic and was barely able to coast off the road. I have replaced fuel pump twice, fuel pump relays numerous times. Fuel pump relay is hot (overheats and stop fuel pressure. I have taken it to be serviced many times and thousands of dollars later and still not running consistently. I never know when it will start, stop while driving, or not start at all. Please recall this car. There are numerous complaints involving the same problems. I believe there is a problem with the control module as well as wiring issues related to the fuel pump. Please help me.
This is the second time I am reporting this car and will continue to do so until something is done about it! I have put thousands of dollars into this car all for the same problem, as has many others. There are starting and stopping issues related to the wiring for the fuel pump. Just go on any gm forum and you will see hundreds of complaints related to this problem. Why must you wait until someone dies due to this. Stopping while driving is extremely dangerous. I have kept all records of repairs and complaints all related to this problem and should anything happen to me while driving this car my family will be prepared to bring forth lawsuits. How much money do you receive from gm to not act on this problem. Your form asks for a date this happened. This has been an ongoing problem for years.
The contact owns a 2012 Chevrolet Malibu. The contact stated that the headlight connectors were melted and had to be replaced 7 times within the past three months. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the contact was informed that there was too much volts going to the headlight wiring connectors causing the connectors to melt. The vehicle was taken to van Chevrolet (100 NW vivion rd, kansas city, mo 64118, 816-527-8564) to be repaired. The vehicle was repaired however, a week later the failure recurred. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact emailed the manufacturer and received a response which stated that they were aware of the failure however, no additional assistance was provided. The approximate failure mileage was 140,000.
Low beam headlight socket melted on both sides not allowing low beam lights to work. Had to rewire a new wiring harness. I have read multiple accounts on line of the exact same thing happening. Until I diagnosed the problem I have had to only drive during daylight hours. Ridiculous!.

The contact owns a 2011 Chevrolet Malibu. The contact stated that while driving approximately 35 mph, the esc, the service traction control, and the engine reduced power warning lights illuminated. The vehicle also vibrated abnormally. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed an electrical short in the wiring system, and replaced three different sensors. The technician also reprogrammed the engine control unit. The failures recurred. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 137,000.
In 2019, my vehicle's tail lights, blinkers, headlights, & interior lights went out. I began to receive dashboard notifications from my car about traction control in early 2018 and earlier this year I started receiving notifications of problems with my airbags. I bought new bulbs, but that didn't solve my lighting problems. I took my car to a chevy dealership and was charged/paid a large sum of money to be told I needed a new fuse panel and headlight bulbs. I was told the panel wasn't available due to a strike at the plant & to come back later to have the panel installed. I returned later to be told that the tech didn't record his findings on my profile so no one knew what was wrong with my vehicle and was asked to pay out more money. Therefore, I took my vehicle to a different dealership and it was documented that my vehicle required a substantial amount of wiring which includes, but not limited to, body control module (bcm), body harness, a new fuse block, labor, etc. , the price tag is in the thousands. I conducted online research and learned of recalls on my vehicle. I contacted Chevrolet and was told there was no recall on my particular VIN although there is a recall on the year, make and model of my car and there was nothing Chevrolet could do to assist me. However, for every single issue I am experiencing with my car there is a recall for it. I am unable to drive my financed vehicle due to safety hazards and the possibility of being ticketed by the police or worse. I received notice for one recall after purchasing my car and that was for a seat belt. From my understanding 13036 is the bcm chevy recall number. Please let me know if more information is needed.
Repeating headlamp failure. Bulbs have been replaced three times in past year. Both bulbs (driver and passenger sides) have been replaced during service though only one had failed, in hopes of extending time between the next required service. Headlamp bulb replacement on this vehicle is complex, requiring removal of the front-end/bumper assembly to access the lamp assembly, usually requiring body shop expertise and cost (>$200+) versus a quick diy job or local service mechanic. Internet searches indicate many customers with similar problems, pointing to a failed design by Chevrolet with the daylight running time circuitry causing high currents leading to high temperatures and overheating/melting/deformed connectors, pigtail and wiring components. A vehicle without two working headlamps is an operational, citational and safety hazard, thus disabling the vehicle. This design problem must be addressed by recall.

I have a 2011 chevy Malibu ltz with 44,589 miles and I have an issue with my screens reading that my esc system is bad and will reduce my engine power, I took it in to airport Chevrolet in medford, oregon and they pluged my car in and told me he has seen this issue countless times, and has seen people have to replace things as simple as a sensor all the way to it being an issue in the wiring harness and people will bring their car in and do the small repairs first ( economically makes sense) and it will not fix the problem. . Until they fix this huge expensive issue all because. Chevy has an issue with a system they put into a car that doesn't work properly! I have read other reviews very similar to mine where people have been hit in traffic . Now luckily I caught mine before a wreck. This needs to be fixed!.
2010 chevy Malibu has had constant issues with low beam light bulbs either burning out, harness wire issues, or bulbs working intermittent, I have paid to have bulbs replaced, harnesses replaced, and each time the fix will work for a few weeks or months. The last time the harnesses were replace was probably a year or two ago, but I am having the issues again. Driving with a headlight out is illegal and gm is well aware of all of these issues and needs to issue a recall to found the root cause of all of these electric issues and fix the issue properly. Prior this car had issues with the brake lights not working properly and that issue got resolved by a recall. Gm needs to do a full inspection on the wiring and see what is causing the shorts, the fuses to blow, and worst of all the dangers of having exterior lights not to work properly. This is a huge risk and could result in a deadly accident if not researched and resolved properly.
Low beam passenger side headlight works intermittently while driving. It turns out that it was due to the electrical wiring harness burning out. This is not an easy fix for this model, to gain access to the headlight assembly the entire front bumper needs to be removed. I was ticketed and had to pay the fine since I was not able to get a shop to take off the bumper within the 24 hour grace period allotted by the local police department.

While driving, the car suddenly flashed the "reduced engine speed" message, and the engine warning light came on. The vehicle would not exceed 20 mph after the message came on. The earliest dealership appointment was for 1/20/20 in a city approximately 30 minutes away; I called the Chevrolet warranty line and was advised to try calling other dealerships and take my vehicle to be serviced there, despite my repeated explanations of the safety risk due to the engine failure. I received my car back today (1/22/20) and was told the accelerator wiring was replaced under a "special" warranty extension and that they are not providing the warranty rental car coverage.

Driver side headlight kept going in and out until completely going out and not working. When getting a new bulb put it it did the same thing a week later. The wiring in the headlight is faulty. The same thing goes for the front speakers of the car. The front speakers will come on and off on their own as well.
Tl the contact owns a 2013 Chevrolet Malibu. The contact believed that the wiring under the driver's seat was faulty. The contact stated that the vehicle shut off in traffic, but was able to restart. The contact also noticed a burning odor earlier that day. Byrider cedar rapids (3837 1st Ave se, cedar rapids, IA 52402, (319) 866-7179) initially claimed to have repaired the wiring harness during a previous visit one week after the vehicle was purchased. The dealer later admitted that they did not repair the wiring harness. The contact owned the vehicle approximately one month. The manufacturer had not been contacted. The contact called camp Chevrolet Cadillac at 866-568-0669) and was quoted a total repair cost of $288. The failure mileage was 133,300.
Tcs, abs, esc, etc intermittently stop working. Electronic power steering occasionally stops working, usually when turning at low speeds. Brake lights sometimes do not illuminate when pedal is pressed. I also replaced the wiring harness to the passenger head light that had shorted out and melted. There is a slew of electrical issues, and they usually get worse as the weather gets wetter and colder.

My cars passenger side low beam head light connector keeps frying out. Ive changed the bulb numerous times and the light never stay on longer than 2 weeks at a time. I was looking into the issue and noticed that the whole connector has melted and the wiring too.
Low beam lights continuously going out. Bulb is still good. Have replaced bulb. Took the vehicle to the chevy dealership. They replaced some wiring or harness. Now passwnger side low beam is out again!.
My 2013 Chevrolet Malibu headlights specifically the right passenger side light keeps going out, I've replaced the bulb, and eventually I had the wiring inside fixed because it was exposed. I bought the car certified pre-owned from the dealership and never realized until recently that the electrical wires that lead to the bulb socket were cut and then twist tied back together and wrapped in electrical tape, instead of having a complete rubber tube cover around the outside and being one continuous uncut piece the way it should be. So I had someone at a car shop try to fix it but now the light is going on and off again. I've seen many Chevrolet vehicles on the road with the right passenger side low beam headlight out while the left one continues to work fine. There are plenty of reports about this same problem by many other owners on the internet. I'm not the only one with this problem, and a costly safety hazard. A recall needs to be made.
Passenger headlight keeps going out. Changed the bulbs, still out. Changed the wiring harness, still out. Next step is the signal switch! the high beam was working until I changed everything and now I have no low or hugh beam on that side!!I have changed the bulbs numerous times on that same side over the past few years. The time prior the connector on the bulb was melted!! I have been reading all over the internet numerous people who continue to have this issue. Replacing these items over and over again is costly. It has been happening too many times!! this needs to be a recall! it is clearly an issue in manufacturing. We should not have to constantly come out of our pockets for lazy wiring and manufacturing. Do right by your customers and make it a recall issue gm!!.
Since I bought this car new in 2016 I have had to replace the vcm 4 times. Nothing seemed to fix the problem. The stop/start never worked right. Three times over the last month, after various repairs at the dealership, the car has completely stopped while driving and would not start again. The doors unlocked and locked, vehicle jumped 3 times, all kinds of warning lights and messages on the dash. . . . Then nothing but a dead car in the middle of the road on a sunny dry day. I could've been the cause of accidents while stopped in the roadway and many people could've been seriously injured. The car was fixed the fourth time yesterday and the mechanic took it out to test before returning the vehicle to me. It died on him again and had to be towed back to the service center. Serious safety hazard and the certified gm techs can't figure out what's wrong. P3055 and p3056 are the error codes that come up every time. New battery, new vcm, new wiring harness. . . . Each time the problem got worse until it completely stopped running. No recall and the car is out of warranty so chevy is not willing to help at all.
My low beam lights keep going out. I have changed the bulbs 4 times now with oem bulbs and also the wiring harness. At first it was the driver's side only now it's both.
The car seems to run fine once it starts. The problem is getting it to start. Sometimes the car starts without any problems and then sometimes it won't. It has left me stranded multiple times. We replaced the fuel pump, which seemed to fix the problem for a few days and then the same thing started to happen. We replaced a couple of fuses. Again this seemed to fix the problem for a few days and then the same thing started to happen. My husband and I noticed that there is some wiring that is always hot leading from the fuse box to the fuel pump. Basically we believe that Chevrolet used cheap crappy thin wiring. Because of this, the car won't start. We did some research online and it seems that everyone who owns a 2012 chevy Malibu has had a similar problem that has cost consumers hundreds of dollars. We have always owned a chevy and this is the first vehicle that we have ever had a problem with. We are seriously considering switching to Toyota or Nissan since Chevrolet has been receiving complaints and thus far has chosen not to do anything. Chevrolet manufactured the 2012 chevy Malibu and was aware of the issues surrounding the fuse box, fuel pump, and the wiring. One of these days, the car is going to catch fire because of the faulty system. It is extremely frustrating to see all of these chevy Malibu owners experiencing the same issue and Chevrolet does nothing. We never know if the car is going to start; it's literally a guessing game. Sometimes we tap the fuse box, sometimes we kick the side of the rear passenger door, and sometimes we have to sit and wait 15 minutes and then the car will start. Chevrolet needs to have a recall and fix the issues surrounding the 2012 chevy Malibu. Eventually the wiring is going to catch fire.
Power of steering keeps going out I have to turn my car off and back on just to get it to steer again. Usually happens when I'm backing out of parking spots or driving slow or turning. My headlights wiring harness has a short in it and one of my lights cuts off and on this happens randomly while I'm driving.
Tl the contact owns a 2013 Chevrolet Malibu. While driving various speeds, all of the warning indicators begin to flash sporadically on the instrument panel. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the wiring harness under the driver's seat caused the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 118,000.

I own a 2016 chevy Malibu and one of its features is an auto stop/start feature in the car. When this car enters this mode when I take my foot off of the break it is supposed to start again but when I take my foot off of the break it will just completely shut down, when I try to start the car again it will just stall. I was involved in an accident on June 9th 2019 where the car cut off and rolled back into another vehicle. This is just one occasion of the car cutting off on me and becoming immobile. I was told it was a battery issue and a wiring issue I've gotten both addressed but it still happens. I've received a letter from chevy that may address the issue but I have to see. My car currently won't start. Today is September 24,2019.
Replaced low beam lights multiple times, had the wiring harness replaced due to a shortage that was supposedly leading to the low beams light blowing out constantly. Low beam lights still keep going out. Ongoing issue.
I bought this car & did not even have it a month and the sunroof would start to close and then would stop and open or get stuck half way open. When trying to get this to close the sunroof would close without putting being pressed. The wiring harness failed and was bad.
I have an issue with the passenger side low beam headlight. I keeps burning out. I have replaced twice within a month period. Now I have to replace the wiring harness. Please recall I'm tired of taking the whole bumper off to replace a bulb.
Brake light constantly fluctuating without the brake being pressed, very dangerous for me and my child, headlights constantly going out specifically the front passenger side, almost go cause an accident and people thing I'm the one pressing the brakes, it does this when driving or when it parked, if I tap the brake it'll go off for a few second then come right back on. Also car keep throwing a code saying it's running rich even tho I can locate the problem I believe it has something to do with a senseor or wiring or the fuel injector, if there are any recalls for this vehicle I would lie for them to be fix all at once because I have to use this card daily for myself and my daughter and I just want it to be safe for my child and I as well as other drivers in the road.
Car would turn over but not crank. Go back a little later and it crank fine. After this happening several times had someone take a look at it and there was no codes and the car would crank fine so couldn't find the problem. Then when I was out somewhere it would crank and run sluggish and go dead and after a while it would crank and run. Got to researching it and people having same problem. Said that you could wiggle fuel pump relay and it would crank. Sure enough tried this and it worked. I'm pretty sure this is same problem. And also if you had been running the car and it wouldnt crank the fuel pump relay will be hot which suggest the wiring and or fuse box is problem. People talk about replacing fuel pump , fuse box , and cheap low gauge wiring from fuel pump to fuse box. Now I'm taking to mechanic to try to get this fixed before it catches fire and someone gets hurt . Try to get fixed and buy a Honda or anything except gm.
