37 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2010 Chevrolet Malibu

Failure Date: 05/29/2012

"service air bag" light came on. Apparently not covered under my extended warranty. Was in an accident in April that afflicted the driver side but the air bag sensor under the passenger seat was the one throwing the code. I've had them both replaced. I was told by the dealership that were recalls on this part in other cars.

38 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2011 Chevrolet Malibu

Failure Date: 03/21/2012

I had just got the vehicle 2 years ago and I have had a continuous problem with the cars air bag sensors. I had take the vehicle to the dealers after only having the vehicle for 3 weeks so they can fix the problem the 1st time they had to me that this was a regular problem with this make and year. After about another 10000 miles later the light was on and off again and did not want to fix this again.

39 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2007 Chevrolet Malibu

Failure Date: 02/01/2011

The following codes are active; p0463 fuel level sensor a circuit high input, b0561 abs $43 sys disabled and c0561 sys disabled issues. The fuel gauge was fluctuating, but has now stopped working. The service engine soon light came on and will not reset to off. The service seat belt warning message came on. The problems were intermittent prior to 50,000 miles, but now, just after 50,000 miles nothing resets. I have found that this is a common problem and the repairs are very expensive, yet nothing has been done to convince gm to recall and make repairs. We own a 2006 Malibu with 35,000 miles on it. Now, I'm worried that it is going to have the same problem as our 2007 Malibu. And, who wants to face those repair bills!.

43 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2006 Chevrolet Malibu

Failure Date: 05/01/2009

On may 1st 2009, while I was driving my 2006 chevy Malibu on the highway, the airbags of the driver and passenger side were deployed. I was hit by the airbag and lost control of my vehicle. According to the other driver, I hit her car from the behind. I was blacked out at that moment and can't not recall the accident. Luckily, neither of the cars did not have any obvious damage. I sent my car to chevy dealer and the chevy engineer diagnosed a malfunctioned sensor that mis-triggered the airbags and they fixed it for free. I do not file this complaint for compensation. I just want people to be aware of this problem because it could be very dangerous on the road. Thank you very much your time!.

44 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2007 Chevrolet Malibu

Failure Date: 11/28/2008

Have had problems with the fuel sensor, thought it was fuel level sensor but apparently from all others reports these are several problems with the fuel system. This causes the check engine light to come on and will not allow the remote start to work. Also have problems with sensor in passenger seat. Just works randomly. Very concerned this will interfere with air bag deployment. All of these things were fixed while still under warranty but started doing it again after it expired and too costly to fix on my own.

51 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 1997 Chevrolet Malibu

I have had to change the front disc brakes at least 5 times and the rotors twice in the 2 years since I have owned the vehicle. The air bag sensor has not been functional since 1 month after I bought the vehicle. It also has a problem with the abs system, causing the brakes to wear so fast. I believe the system should be recalled due to safety issues. I have checked on the internet with other owners and most of them have the same issues with the brakes as I do.
