Turn signals stop working or don't work at all.
Turn signals won't work at times and some times when I use my four ways, they won't either and when I do use my turn signals the four ways come on.
Turn signals work when they want to all the time. This is the exact problem that 670740 other 2001 Malibus have and they can be fixed with a recall. Mine is not covered in the recall when my car has the exact same issues. Why? no crash yet. . . But soon.

The vehicle is a 2002 Chevrolet Malibu, the turn signals and the hazard lights only work about 25 percent of the time. This problem started after 32,000 miles and on around the first of April of 2005. Sometimes when flipping on the lights they will work, then go off without warning. At times after flipping the lights on they will not come on and then after driving further they will all of a sudden turn on. The lights would have to be in the on position before it will come on. The problem occurs in any type of weather and under any driving conditions. The consumer contacted gm and they told her to get a diagnostic test ran on the vehicle, and afterwards that they would get in contact with the dealer and get some kind of payment figured out. The consumer has not contacted the dealership as of now. The consumer states that she knows that it is the same problem they are having with the 2000 & 2001, and those models were recalled.

Hazard warning switches may experience solder joint cracking caused by rapid temperature transitions and the soldering process. If solder joint cracking occurs and results in an open circuit, the turn signals/hazard lamps become intermittent or inoperative. Dealership indicated to the consumer that this vehicle wa snot included in the recall due to VIN.
