Failure Date: 08/05/2021

All electrical inside car goes out or on and off while driving. All dash gauges, speedometer, gas gauge, radio, heat/ac, turn signals, etc. Car still runs but nothing on inside works. I do not know if this control outage effects the abs or steering. It only last for a few seconds. It has happened several time will drive 50 to 70 mph. I've let off the gas and try not to panic. Everything comes back on and I continue home. I'm scared to drive my car.

2 Turn Signal problem of the 2004 Chevrolet Malibu

Failure Date: 01/16/2021

First, the car routinely burns out turn signals, and overheats the turn signal to the point that it melts the housing thta the light bulb snaps into. I have had to replace the headlight housing/lamp wirings harness multiple times along with many light bulbs. Second, there is a recall for the electronic power steering. My particular VIN was recalled for an electronic power steering sensor. The power steering has gone out on me while driving twice, so I brought it to the dealer. They indicated the electronic power steering motor needs to be replaced, and is not covered under and recalls. There appears tobe numerous recalls on gm vehicles related to the electronic power steering, and replacing motors for that matter, but the dealer has indicated there is no such recall related to my particular vehicle/VIN. This seems rather suspect with the number of recalls related to these vehicles, and for me to have the steering go out, but my particular vehicle does not qualify. I was driving on a city street when it went out once. I made it home safely, albeit very hard to turn the wheel, and then the power steering worked after turning off the vehicle and back on again. It went out again in the parking lot of the car dealer when dropping it off the be looked at.

3 Turn Signal problem of the 2002 Chevrolet Malibu

The turn signals work sometimes and sometimes they don't work. I researched this on the internet and it seams to be a serious problem with this car make. If there are no recalls on this there should be. This is a major safety hazard. I just bought this car for my teenage son.

5 Turn Signal problem of the 2011 Chevrolet Malibu

Failure Date: 10/16/2019

Passenger side headlight keeps burning out over the last couple months. As of this morning, both break lights and rear turn signals are randomly working. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. I've read a lot of posts about people dealing with issues with the power going specifically to headlights, as in it is too much voltage and that is causing the light to go out.

6 Turn Signal problem of the 2005 Chevrolet Malibu

Failure Date: 07/17/2019

My passenger side headlamp light (turn signal) assembly keeps burning out and melting the bulb housing and orange lens. It burned a hole in the orange turn signal lens. I replace bulb after bulb but it keeps failing. Please issue a recall because no car owner should have to keep replacing bulbs constantly only for them to fail over and over again! this happens when the car is stationary, moving, etc. .

10 Turn Signal problem of the 2010 Chevrolet Malibu

Failure Date: 12/01/2018

When I first turn the car on it will flash service esc and power steering wheel also flash at that point I have no power steering, and then I will turn the car off and turn it back on and I have power steering there is no flashing of esc or power steering. The steering wheel will shake while stationary. In the last year I have replaced all four turn signals at least twice and both headlights at least twice. When I turn on the car the headlights will flash and then one will go out while the other one stays on driving down the road I don't hit any bumps or potholes or anything like that and the head light will come on, at that point it stayed on for one day and then it went back out again. My third brake light will work off and on, more off then on. My rear defrosters do not work at all and the control on the driver seat does not work either. Within the last month we have replaced the battery and cables for the car and was told that that should fix all the electrical problems and it did not. I have 2 videos of what the car does but cannot upload on here.

12 Turn Signal problem of the 2002 Chevrolet Malibu

Failure Date: 05/01/2018

My 2002 Chevrolet classic has a dangerous condition where the turn signal/hazard warning flashers become inoperative. The condition is completely random and occurs intermittently. This has created surprise unsafe situations when making lane changes and left and right hand turns. Chevrolet knows about the faulty turn signal/hazard warning flashers however no recalls have been made. In April 2006 Chevrolet sent a somewhat dismissive letter about the condition. However the letter clearly states this is not a recall and do not take your vehicle in for service. At that time my 2002 Chevrolet classic did not have the condition described in the letter. I feel the language and intent of the letter was confusing and created opportunity for Chevrolet to disregard the customer.

14 Turn Signal problem of the 2001 Chevrolet Malibu

Failure Date: 08/17/2017

2nd cylinder is misfiring and something seems to be leaking antifreeze, causing my engine to overheat, which I see is a large issue in chevy Malibus. My turn signal/hazards also don't work 85% of the time, which is a recall for my make, model, and year (Chevrolet, Malibu, 2001) but not my VIN number. Another issue I see is my left headlight shines out from the side, which I also saw to be an issue in several of the same models of my car. Keep in mind I bought it recently, used, so the date I noticed the issues was fairly recent.

21 Turn Signal problem of the 2005 Chevrolet Malibu

Failure Date: 02/13/2016

Bought car used at 136,000 miles. Car radio does not light up or work, and horn doesn't work. Drivers side back window won't go down. First day driving the car, turn signals stopped blinking and then started blinking again. Suspension in the back squeaks badly when driving at random and going over speed bumps. Did not drive the car for more than one day and now car won't start at all (no crank, no start). These are major safety issues including serious electrical problems. The battery is only one year old on the car when purchased, so should be good. These electrical issues need to be recalled. 28 Turn Signal problem of the 2013 Chevrolet Malibu

Failure Date: 06/01/2015

I purchased a 2013 certified pre-owned Chevrolet Malibu from a Chevrolet dealership in November of 2014. I was satisfied with my purchase for a few months with no issues until I started having problems with the electrical. My first frightening experience was traveling on the interstate exiting onto a highway via a cloverleaf. While merging onto the highway, I lost all power, including power steering. Luckily no one was in the other lane, as my car veered across the line, into the other lane. The power came back on a few seconds later. I brought my car into the dealership where I purchased it, however they were unable to pinpoint the issue. They scanned the vehicles system for error codes, cleared the codes and sent me on my way. Since this initial issue, my car loses power randomly while driving, parked, using my turn signal, turning left, turning right, etc. The power steering goes out, the dashboard and vehicle display monitor go black. Some instances it will flicker, other times it will shut down completely. I have had it towed from my driveway as I have been unable to turn it on and towed from a retail parking lot. I have had the car inspected by the dealership 4 times and a separate privately owned garage twice, with no resolution. I contacted gm/Chevrolet regarding the issue and a case number was given to me. They had me bring my car to a Chevrolet dealership. After their inspection, the dealership stated it was the positive battery cable that is malfunctioning. I reached out to Chevrolet again about a resolution and they indicated the vehicle is outside of warranty so no repair support will be provided. If this issue would have been resolved within the initial inspection, the certified pre-owned status of my vehicle may have covered repairs. My concern is the larger impact of others experiencing the same issues and getting the same response by gm.
