I've been having issue with my car slowly but surely. First my solenoid rocket went bad after a 1yr of purchasing the car that came with 40,000 miles. A year after that I was running errands one day, pulled out of a strip mall and my car started lightly shaking for a minute til it came to a stop and wouldn't start. Ive called my insurance provider for road assistance and gas, thinking I was low on gas than normal that could be the problem. I've received gas then proceeded to starting my ignition 3 to 5 times, it never crank and ultimately the key stop switching and I could only turn the key to on position not start. Displaying on my dash the message steering/power drive with care! gotten my car towed to my personal mechanic, he told me my fuel pumps were bad because of substantial amount of water found in the tank system, that I needed to purchase two fuel pumps and 4 starters for him to complete the job. No longer than 5 til 6 months after completion of the last repair im now experiencing problems when starting my vehicle my engine light came on, again a message on my dash displaying steering/power drive with care! once I shifted my gear in drive while my foot still on the brakes, the light of the gear switches kept jumping back and forth rapidly as if the gears were being shifted manual and the car moved liked it was responding to the rapid gear changing as well lucky I had my foot on the brakes during that incident. While driving my car seemed to switched gear, in mid drive on an express way which caused the car to slow down instantly as if I pumped the brakes. That happened for 30 secs or less then it responded back to the initial shift it was originally in on its own. At times my car moves and jerks forward when I shift my car in reverse. Still ongoing every so often my car moves and jerks forward multiple times while shifting into gear til this day.

My car does not register gas properly. The gas hand is irratic and continuously fluciates from full to empty regardless of the amount of gas. Because of the unreliability of the gas hand, I ran out of gas on theinterstate! no further explanation of this very dangerous situation should be needed. At times the car fails to start and idle properly. Both issues are due to a malfunction in the fuel circuit sensor located inside the gas tank. This is a problem that has been reported numerous times with this make and model. It is an expensive fix due to location of the sensor. Please recall.

Issue one is the drivers seal welds brake on the rear and front from the floor mount base to the elevated control thus in the case of a crash the seat is compromised to separate completely from the floor mount due to these welds being broke. Second issue fuel pumps begin to leak at the seal of the pump at the fuel tank leaking heavy amounts of fuel from the tank and onto the exhaust. Third issue which I have seen multiple reports of recalls but the dealership denies there is an issue with the maxx that only the base model is effected but while driving the power steering will fail and the car has no control and will violently jerk in one direction throwing the vehicle in to oncoming lanes or even into the ditch. Happens periodically the power steering message appears on main control message screen and car will sound an alarm, other times the entire dash board warning lights from check engine, oil, air bag, seat belt, so on so all come on and the power steering goes out. I have found that this issue usually occurs while accelerating whether slowly or even while trying to speed up more aggressively to merge unto expressway traffic. I have nearly wrecked into numerous cars due to steering going out and wheel will violently jerk one direction or to the other. Not sure why this site shows a recall for power steering but dealership denies there is a active recall for the maxx but they have one for the 2005 base Malibu.

Tl-the contact owns a 2006 Chevrolet Malibu. The contact stated that every time that the vehicle is full with gasoline the gas gauge reflects a full tank, but later it does not reflect the actual amount of gas. The check engine indicator illuminates on and off all the time. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 109,000. Bp.
My gas guage is not reporting the correct amount of fuel in my gas tank. The engine light is illuminated 24/7 due to this issue. I believe it has something to do with the fuel sensor.
The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Malibu. When the fuel tank was half full, the gauge would erroneously decrease to empty and the low fuel light would illuminate. The driver was unable to determine the amount of fuel in the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the fuel cap was faulty. The cap was replaced, but the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who indicated that the fuel floater was faulty. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 70,000. The VIN was not available.

Soon after I purchased this car I started having problems with the power steering system. In many occasions when I start the engine the power steering does not work. I cannot move the steering wheel. I turn the engine off, wait a few seconds and start the engine again, and the power steering works. I have had this problems at least 15 or 20 times since I purchased the car in January 9, 2012. It has never happened with the car moving. Also when I move the steering wheel from one side to the other the power steering alert light comes on and off and I hear a clunk noise that I can feel in the steering wheel. It is like if something is loose in the steering system. I checked the rack and pinion in several occasions and found it had the screws that hold it to the frame loose. I tightened them but the noise does not go away. I drive this car with caution and fear because of the power steering problem and the noise in the steering system. This month (April 2014) I started having problems with the fuel level sending unit. Sometimes it marks full and others empty with gas in the tank. At the same time the check engine light comes on and off.
