1 Software problem of the 2018 Chevrolet Malibu

Failure Date: 02/28/2019

In motion on highway at 60 mph, my car acceration shut down and I started losing speed even though I was pressing acellerator. At this time my car started to down shift and the more I stepped on the accellerator nothing happened. My car then turned off on the highway. I immediately shifted to park and started the vehicle again because I was in fear of getting rear ended. We have taken the car to the dealership 4 times for them to fix it and the last time, they said there was nothing wrong with it. We still have exceleration issues with this vehicle. We got a recall notice of software from Chevrolet but the dealer ship is unaware of the repair and I do not believe they can correct this problem. We bought this car new and it has been in the shop 4 times for this recall. We wish to receive a new car for safety reasons. We are taking the car to the dealership again today but I am afraid to drive the vehicle.

2 Software problem of the 2013 Chevrolet Malibu

Failure Date: 04/01/2018

Steering ecu, instrument cluster, and center stack all reset while driving intermittently. These incidence have occurred numberous times and gm does not know the root cause. When an event occurs the driver looses power steering for a brief period of time. This has happened while making left hand turns, on the highway, and while stopped. Gm released a technical service bulletin to check ground points on the negative battery cable this does not solve the problem and this is a serious safety concern. I have released production level software for numberous tier one suppliers that have gone into a variety of ecus. To me it seems like all of the body control modules have lost power. When checking car complaints this same behavior has been stated in over 40 reports and all reports state gm was unable to determine the cause. If an investigation has not been launched into this behavior I highly recommend it before the loss of power steering kills someone. . Read more...

3 Software problem of the 2016 Chevrolet Malibu

Failure Date: 04/12/2017

I purchased the car in June of 2016 and have had multiple electrical/software issues with the vehicle. The latest issue is a complete shutdown of the entire infotainment center, including causing the blinkers to go silent. Some of the issues with the car seem to pose much more of a critical safety issue and I feel obligated to report to the national highway traffic safety administration regarding my issues with engine power failure. There have been multiple recalls regarding the ignition stop/start function, the battery monitor module timer, and even the entire engine control module. I was on the highway and the engine power failed, fortunately I was able to exit I-94 safely. This vehicle and entire experience has me feeling financially violated and physically unsafe.

4 Software problem of the 2013 Chevrolet Malibu

Failure Date: 08/04/2015

Actuator did not meet specs it was necessary to replace actuator. This service was done by jim keras Chevrolet in memphis tennessee. The covering on the driver seat that protects the seat controls has fallen off, the car has no pick up when depressing the excellerator and makes noise as if the transmission is not changing. I went to vincheck pro and there were 7 recalls specifically electrical system software. I bought this car off the showroom floor of Acura of memphis at ridgeway and 385. No one told me of any factory recalls. The money I am spending for this car is already too much and now having so many problems out of a car thats only 2 years old is ridiculous. Thanks for listening.
