The first thing that happened was my passenger side rear door just suddenly flew open while I was driving my vehicle down the road. Doors were locked and all were completely closed and the door just came open for some unknown reason. Had my mechanic take a look and he couldn't see anything unusual about the mechanism or anything on the door. It has happened several times since so now I put the seatbelt through the door handle and pull it tight and lock seatbelt into place so if it happens the door won't fly open again. The second issue I am having is with the airbag warning light and alarm coming on randomly when I am driving my car. I took it into the chevy dealership for one of the other recalls and they said that to put it on the tester, it would cost me $120 (which I cannot afford to pay), so they just let it be and fixed the recall I brought it in for. I am still having the problem and I notice that when the warning light is off and I press the horn. . . It comes on immediately and beeps at me. Is this a safety issue to be concerned with? with all the issues and recalls this car has been having I am not sure if it's an issue to be concerned about or not or just wait to hear on another recall or? I can't pay that to have it actually diagnosed.

Since I purchased my car there have been differant incidents that I didn't pay attention to. The traction, cruise control don't work properley, the warning light for the air bags appears and will stay on for awhile I've had problems with the lighting. As soon as I recieved the recall letter I called the dealer right away and told them about the problems, they looked it up and said I had to wait until the parts arrive. I'm very concerned about my safety I use my car for my family and will be having to make a long distance trip to pick up my daughter. What do I do in the meantime when my car is already having problems?.

Service passenger airbag warning light comes on intermittently. Sometimes when the passenger seat is occupied, the light will go off, but not always. Lack of trust in dealers investigating and making the repairs is an issue. I'm told (by a local Chevrolet dealer service manager) that it will cost $80 just to check via computer what the cause may be. Repairs such as re-coupling a loose sensor connection beneath the passenger seat is relatively inexpensive ($40) but replacement of sensors repairs could run upwards from $700.

When first starting the car and also while driving the air bag indicator comes on and information center reads service air bag along with an alarm. When this happens all the above-mentioned warning lights and read out may stay on for the entire ride or go off shortly after coming on. Has not affected the driving or handling of vehicle. My vehicle is experiencing steering problems in which it is hard to steer the wheel of the vehicle while making turns and driving. Also, the airbag light is on on the dashboard. The vehicle warning light also displays traction control.
While driving or not driving the steering wheel shakes vigorously and the power steering warning light comes on. Then the brake lights come on when I'm not touching them. When I do apply the brakes the lights go out. Then have to apply a generous amount of pressure to get them to come on. I constantly keep getting the light service esc then it says it is off. I turn off car and it resets but after 2 or 3 minutes it comes back on. I also keep getting a seatbelt light as to buckle up and I'm already wearing seatbelt. The steering gets hung while driving pulling to either side of the road.
