On-star representative stated that anti-theft device came on and caused the engine to shut off. Consumer had to use the emergency brake to stop vehicle on one occasion when the brakes failed.

Brakes went out without prior warning. Consumer attempted to stop, brake pedal hit floor without stopping. Dealer replaced abs valve. Brakes went out again on may 11,2001. Dealer replaced abs box again, and brakes went out.

Pumping & applying pressure when brakes are wet makes it very hard to stop, and vehicle will come to a screaching halt.
