Hello I was told I could complain to you and possibly get refunded. My car currently has about 76,900 miles on it. My brake line rusted out on me, and I had $700 of work done on my brakes, at monroe in lowell, MA, on chelmsford st. (rt. 110). I was told I could complain about my entire brakes rusting out here. Thanks for your time. . . Updated 07/15/14.
The contact owns a 2000 Chevrolet Monte Carlo. He stated he noticed a large puddle of fluid after reversing from a parking space. As he depressed the brake pedal, the pedal fell into the floorboard much farther than usual. The contact inspected the vehicle and found that both brake lines on the driver's and passenger's side were rusted and fractured. The contact replaced the brake lines. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was contacted. The failure and current mileages were 138,000. Updated 09/28/10

: the contact stated while driving 20 mph, the traction and low hydraulic fluid light illuminated. The vehicle was driven home and a pint of hydraulic fluid was added which leaked onto the garage floor. The vehicle was taken to an independent repair shop for further inspection where it was determined the brake lines needed to be replaced. The mechanic noted the brake lines were very corrosive. The vehicle was not exposed to excessive road salts or harsh, winter weather. The manufacturer was alerted. Updated 01/10/07.

Consumer states: brakes failed, the brakes were fine all of a sudden brake pedal went to the floor. The brake line rusted completely. Brake lines were made out of cheap steel and were coated with some type of heavy paint. They only rusted in one spot, and that was on the portion of the brake line that was not coated in the heavy paint. The brake line components were replaced.
