Engine Stall Problems of Chevrolet S10

Tl-the contact owns a 1998 Chevrolet S10. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 30 mph, the engine stalled and she pulled to the side of the road. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The failure has occurred on several occasions. The vehicle was taken to a independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the ignition switch needed to be replaced and the vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the issue. The approximate failure mileage was 76,000. Ddr.

Vehicle been experiencing ongoing / intermittent problem with engine stalling while driving at any speed. Dealer notified, and some repairs were made. But dealer informed consumer that there is no guarantee that the problem will not reoccur. Seeking help in this matter from NHTSA.

Intermittently while driving vehicle will accelerate to 50 mph and stay at 50 mph without pressing the pedal, which cannot slowdown vehicle unless making a complete stop. This may cause a crash. Been to dealer 5 times, but could not determine the cause. Engine stall while driving and the vehicle would not restart due to coil wire failure.

The transmission did not shift into gear. It felt as if the gear was in neutral, consumer was informed that water and transmission fluid came out of the transmission breather which caused the fluid to turn pink, and the transmission needed to be replaced. Also the engine stalled on occasions.
