Failure Date: 10/14/2004

This has just started in the last two months. I have had the truck since it was new. When I try to put gas in my 2003 Chevrolet s-10 the gas pump nozzle will keep clicking off no matter how slow I pump the gas in. The last two times I put gas in it, it will overflow even if the tank is empty. I take the nozzle out of the tank and the gas will continue to bubble out. I took it to our mechanic and he looked it over and could find nothing wrong.

5 Tank Assembly problem of the 2003 Chevrolet S10

Failure Date: 08/07/2003

I purchased a model 2003 Chevrolet S10 crew cab in December of 2002. Sometimes when I fill the tank it overflows, runs down the side of the truck and makes a spot of gasoline on the ground. It has overflowed many times since I bought the truck, using both the highest and lowest fill settings on the fuel pump nozzle. The dealership replaced the fuel tank, vent lines, charcoal canister, and other parts. The Chevrolet regional service manager said that Chevrolet will not do any more work on the truck. I try to fill the tank with the lowest fill setting on the gas nozzle, but sometimes it still overflows. I am concerned it will ruin my paint and/or become a fire hazard. I was told that the cause of the problem is that Chevrolet redesigned the fuel tank for this truck, which removed the vent line that goes from the tank to the top of the fill pipe.

6 Tank Assembly problem of the 2002 Chevrolet S10

Failure Date: 04/12/2003

1)fuel guage stuck at around 1/4 of a tank when 1/4 or below. Had to put vehicle into neutral to get accurate reading. Has ran out of gas when showing 1/4 of tank. Taken to dealership - replaced fuel level sensor. Problem was not fixed. Took back again and other items were replaced. Seems to be fixed, but it has only been 1 week. 2)"popping" noise heard on the drivers side in the front end. Took in same time as the first gasoline incident. Replaced ball joint and greased front end. Seemed fine until about 1 month later and then noise came back, along with a very bad "bouncing" in the front end that made it feel like the front drivers side tire was comming off. Took back to dealership (same time as second gasoline visit) said that it was the "design of the vehicle" - but yet it never did this until then. Dealership has been very cooperative.
