Chevrolet S10 owners have reported 2 problems related to windshield wiper/washer linkages (under the visibility category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Windshield Wiper/washer Linkages problem of the 1998 Chevrolet S10

Failure Date: 05/02/2007

I drive a 1998 chevy s-10. Everytime it rains, the windshield wipers stop working. I instantly go blind, and pull off the road/highway as fast as possible. The 1995-1997 chevy s-10 has a recall on the exact same problem due to a faulty wiper motor circuit board. The description fits my problem exactly. This defect has a NHTSA campaign id number: 03v159000. My truck was manufactured in November 1997. When I called up chevy, and told them of the problem, they said that it shouldn't be doing what it is doing. The chevy rep. Said that my truck, manufactured in November 1997 was not included in the recall. It should because my windshield wipers freeze at the slightest bit of rain. I have not gotten this problem fixed yet.

2 Windshield Wiper/washer Linkages problem of the 2003 Chevrolet S10

Failure Date: 07/30/2003

Both wiper blades chatter on windshield of 2003 s-10. They do not wipe water off of windshield making it very difficult to see in rain or snow. This happens while driving or standing still but moving makes it worse. This vehicle was bought new in July of 03. Also owned a 98 s-10 that did the same thing. Dealers say that is just the way it is. I work for a tier 1 wiper systems manufacturer and test these things. That is not how they are supposed to work. This is a big safety issue. Very unhappy with the dealer's reaction. Ng, indiana.
