I had to have the throttle body on my 2000 chevy Silverado replaced due to the accelerator sticking. My mechanic informed me that there is a technical service bulletin out from general motors regarding replacing the throttle body when this condition occurs. I believe this part was defective, poses a safty concern and should be recalled by general motors.
Accelerator sticks in idle positions and requires great force to depress resulting in the vehicle lunging forward or backwards depending on gear selection. . . Extremely dangerous situation when in tight areas. Throttle body was replaced while still under warranty, but same problem has reaccurred. This is a problem that gm should correct, as it obviously is not an isolated problem.
The accelerator pedal sticks when starting out, causing too much throttle and surging when the pedal finally breaks free. This is especially dangerous in traffic or when roads are slick.

Accelerator pedal sticks. When I place vehicle into gear I must apply pressure to accelerator to release it. Subsequently it releases suddenly in a way which causes sudden acceleration. When conditions are icy this common problem will eventually get someone killed. Chevy should recall.
The consumer had placed the vehicle in the reverse gear and depressed the gas pedal. The accelerator had then gotten stuck, an engaged in full throttle. The manufacturer was of no assistance. Ph scc.
While traveling to work on a icy road, my accelerator stuck and I couldn't accelerate. It then released all the way to the floor board where it stuck again. I lost control of the pickup and slid into on coming traffic where I had a head on collision. The accelerator sticking was the cause of the wreck and I believe that chevy is well aware of the problem. Something must be done before it happens again.
Accelerator pedal is hard and sticks when pressed, and vehical takes off fast.
While pulling into main highway, accelerator pedal stuck and caused vehicle to accelerate out of control. Vehicle hit a tree before stopping, consumer stated he had to kick the gas pedal to get the pedal unstuck. Dealer and manufacturer were not notified at this time, one person was injured.
When proceeding forward or stopping accelerator sticks, has to kick pedal to break loose, and vehicle surge forward. Consumer took the truck to the dealer, and they told him the problem was throttle valve.

Accelerator would stick at a stop sign or stop light. It would suddenly jump/jerk forward. Had taken vehicle to dealership, but informed consumer vehicle was not under warranty. Part needed to be cleaned/ not replaced. The problem was sporadic or intermittent at times.
