I was traveling about 30 miles per hour when I had to stop for a van ahead of me. I touched my brakes and the pedal went all the way to the floor. No brakes at all. On Saturday, June 8, 2013, I was traveling approximately 3-4 mph (or less) entering a parking space. The parking lot was level and dry. I applied the brakes to stop, the abs activated, I. Two recalls issued for the above vehicle for the hydraulic anti-lock brake system unwanted activation #05v379000 and emergency brake system #05v161000. We have both issues occurred on vehicle. Phoned Chevrolet dealership and told VIN # was not on list so we had to just deal with it. The NHTSA national recall states to phone dealership immediately if issue occurs this is a safety issue we feel Chevrolet should correct at no cost to us due to chevy failure.

Brakes quit. . Abs growled and wouldn't stop, has gotten worse and worse. It does it mainly at low speeds when the wheels are turned.

The contact owns a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado. The contact received a recall letter on July 2005 and he took the vehicle to the dealership for repairs. The dealership charged him t for fixing the vehicle. He spoke with the manufacturer, and they told him that they would have to go along with what the dealership said. The recall was for a conduct condition between the brake shoes and the brake drums , and was only on the manual transmission. The dealership was charging him for new brake drums. The dealership still was working on the vehicle and was going to fix it, but it would cost the contact a little over a $1000 for the repairs.

The consumer had the same problem as NHTSA campaign # 04v045000 certain sport utility vehicles, pickup trucks, and passenger vans fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 135, ?passenger car brake systems. ? some of these vehicles were produced with an out-of-specification brake hydro-boost housing relief valve bore. The dealership informed the consumer that the recall did not apply to his vehicle. The vehicle was just 3831 miles out of warranty, but the consumer noticed leaking during the warranty period. While turning a corner at 10 mph consumer lost the ability to steer and brake. Consumer had to use the emergency brake to stop the vehicle.
When the consumer applied the brake the pedal went down to the floor and there was no power steering. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where the technician determined that the steering belt failed. Please provide any additional information.

When the vehicle brakes were applied the brake pedal went to the floor and the vehicle experienced extended stopping distance. The dealer replaced the hydraulic booster. The booster had to be replaced again because of the same failure.
Sometimes while driving, when the brakes are applied the brake pedal is very hard. The driver has to pump brake pedal to stop.
When driving under rainy conditions, the brake became very hard when it was applied.
The brakes did not hold when they were pressed while driving over a bump.
