Car Stall Problems of Chevrolet Silverado - part 1

Chevrolet Silverado owners have reported 44 problems related to car stall (under the engine and engine cooling category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Car Stall problem of the 2017 Chevrolet Silverado

Failure Date: 08/27/2019

Fuel injector or fuel pump does not work properly. On two (2) different occasions, months apart, my engine has lost power and the vehicle stalled. Both times at low speeds 10 - 15 mph and low rpms. This has nearly caused me to crash into one vehicle and for another to almost hit me from behind as my car died while making a right hand turn off a busy road. I have had the vehicle towed in twice, but the dealership and gm both say unless they can duplicate the issue they will not fix or replace anything. This vehicle is unsafe and needs to be recalled/reviewed. On top of this, they had to replace the vacuum pump for the brakes and do a software patch update because the backup camera was dangerously bright, especially at night. The camera issue took 2 visits to 2 different dealerships to get resolved. Gm is playing the numbers game of hoping for a fine instead of paying to replace any parts. Especially since they are dealing with a pr battle about making cars outside of the USA. They took the bailout money and screwed americans.

7 Car Stall problem of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado

Failure Date: 11/20/2014

Purchased a new 1500 in may of 2014 and a few months later noticed the engine has a random miss both while driving as well as at idle. Will experience a significant jerk and will also hesitate to pick up speed shortly after experiencing the jerk. I have reported this problem to Chevrolet on numerous occasions, but only have 4 invoices (from 11/20/14-8/26/15) with the complaint listed. Each time Chevrolet stated no problem found or present except for the most recent invoice dated Aug. 26, 2015 in which after Chevrolet service manager became involved because I complained about an unresolved issue, he did state that the problem was noticed by a "senior service technician" and since no code was present to diagnose or correct the problem, gm was contacted. Was told by the service manager that gm stated "they are aware of the concern but as yet have not formulated a repair. " I am presently still experiencing the issue, but since gm has not "formulated a repair" for an issue that they are unsure of the cause and in which they feel "is not a safety issue" I am driving a vehicle that could stall at any given time. Be sure each complaint is documented via invoice number and make sure what you are told via phone and or in person is what is stated on the invoice.

16 Car Stall problem of the 2007 Chevrolet Silverado

Failure Date: 11/15/2007

I took my new chevy truck into the dealer for some new factory equipment (bug deflector and bed liner) to be installed by them. While the dealer had my 2007 chevy truck they loaded 2008 power train software into it's computer without my permission. The 2008 software changed the way my truck runs. The power train now has a speed limiter on it and the stability control was changed. It will not go as fast it as use to go before the change. I was told by the dealer and gm they would not put my truck back the way it was as when I bought it. They told me that the reason was the goodyear tires and the truck design were unsafe without the 2008 software installed and would not change my truck back to the 2007 configration . I have not gotten any recall or safety notices about this issue. I think gm and the dealer made a mistake and do not want to correct it. If there is a problem with the tires (goodyear wrangler tires) and the 2007 truck design (gm Silverado 1500 lts crew cab) gm is trying to cover it up. There are hundreds of thousands of 2007 gm trucks, cars, SUV's even Cadillac's that have the same power train in them that my truck has and they are not changing the computer programs in all those vehicles. I was told they would be changed only if the trucks, SUV's and cars were brought in for any kind of service work, but would not be changed if not serviced by gm. Sense there have been no recall notices about these issues I think gm is trying to cover something up . The very least trying to cover up their dealers and there mistake by altering my truck without my permission or they do have a serious problem that the public should be aware of. Please look into this. The same tires are on fords and dodges and they don't software limit there performance. I paid top dollar for gm's best truck with the biggest engine made for it, I could have saved a lot of money by buying a six cylinder engine instead of the big v-8. If I knew gm was going to DE-rate mine.
