3 Side/rear Glass problem of the 2000 Chevrolet Silverado

Failure Date: 03/27/2005

1999-2005 Chevrolet and GMC Silverado style extended cab pickup trucks. Rear vent windows have a serious pinching hazard for children or adults with small fingers. The latches which open the vent windows have a cam latch that when closing the window, creates a pinching hazard. The latch flips through a scissors motion when closing , the outside of the latch flips inside of the bottom part(in between it). The hazard seems to be a magnet for childrens fingers as both of my children have been seriously pinched several times. When the finger is pinched in the latch it is pressed on by the outside force of the wind determend by the speed of the vehicle(pinching it even worse), my children had to push out on the window to release their finger from the latch when pinched.
