Windshield Wiper/washer Problems of Chevrolet Silverado - part 1

2007 Chevrolet Silverado. Wiper blades ice up during cold snowy weather, causing poor visibility and it is very difficult to remove the ice. Checked parts store and gm dealer for artic/winter blades and they are not available. Creates very dangerous conditions during snow.

The contact owns a 1998 Chevrolet Silverado, while using the windshield wipers they had suddenly stopped and a buzzing sound was coming from the windshield wipers. After the buzzing sound had stopped the windshield wipers had began to work properly. The vehicle was taken to the dealership where the contact was informed that the probe central module needed to be replaced. The current mileage is 225,000 failure mileage was 89000. While driving at night on a rural highway, it began to downpour. I turned my windshield wipers on, and nothing happened. I became frantic and tried to pull over, without even seeing where I was going. Upon internet research, and this website, I am now aware of a recall effecting certain batches of my model. The recall info is as follows: NHTSA campaign id number : 03v159000 I've called the dealership service department who then told me they could do nothing for me unless it was in writing from gm. I called gm, however they can not and will not assist me in any way other than telling me that my wiper motor failure is "coincidence" and just happens to fall into the same category of the recall.

The windshield wipers worked intermittently. The consumer contacted the dealer and they contacted gm and filed a complaint on June 1, 2005.

Contact states while driving vehicle the windshield wipers will stop working for approximately 5 minutes, then start back working. The vehicle has not been taken to a service dealer. This has happened about 5 or 6 times.

The pressure line from the reservoir has a hole where the line passed near/behind the battery. It appears to have been burned or eaten away from touching battery. While driving through a storm the windshield washer had become inoperative. The consumer also discovered that when the washer was engaged, it would spray washer fluid all over the battery.

The windshield wipers would come on and go off while driving in inclement weather. The consumer took the vehicle to the mechanic to have the windshield wipers inspected and was told they needed to be replaced.

Gm must widen scope of recall to include this vehicle and others. Please command gm to include this vehicle under recall 98v150001. I am too poor to repair this dangerous safety defect myself what with all the other recent unanticipated repairs that I have had to make to this vehicle recently. Gm is liable for safety defect and by law must pay to remedy the situation. I love this truck. I have owned 6 chevy trucks all bought brand new from dealer. Gm and NHTSA please help. Mr.

While driving in the rain the widshield wipers stop working and come on themselves after the unit seems to cool down. This happened to me twice in one day while driving and it almost caused me to wreck my vehicle. I would like to know if gm is doing a recall on a vehicle with the VIN # that mine has.
