1 Power Assist Brake Hoses, Lines/piping, And Fittings problem

Failure Date: 04/19/2008

I was driving on a heavily traveled road (in traffic) , as I approached a line of traffic a stoplight went to apply the brakes and nothing happened!! I then shifted the truck into first gear and veered toward the side of the road. A gas station wasn,t too far from the intersection so I drifted into there. Ii lifted the hood and found no fluid in the reservoir, I then looked under the truck and discovered fluid (brake) all over the lot and the back driver side axle. I called a tow truck and had the truck towed. The next day I went to see him and he showed how bad the corrosion was on the brake lines. Every brake line on the truck (from about six inches from the master cylinder) was rotted almost completely through!!! need less to say, I have to replace every brake line on the truck, which will be a fortune!!! did I mention the fuel lines? they too are also rotted!! it seems that everywhere that the steel lines were used, it is rotted I'll probably have to replace the fuel lines also in the near future. Gm should be ashamed of themselves for selling vehicles with these kind of problems!!!.
