I had my truck serviced for the airbag recall in 2021 at clint newell auto in roseburg oregon, they did not have a necessary part to complete the job at the moment and I had moved out of town by the time they got it in. I just today brought it in and they said they did the second half of the recall but the component was not communicating. I was informed they would charge me to investigate why. I am writing to complain and seek resources. I cant afford to have the airbag problem investigated especially since it is likely their fault/negligence. The airbag light remains on and it is still a danger to me, also they were super rude and disorganized. Please help.

I was on my way home from work on [xxx] coming around the lakes with no median or shoulder when the engine in my 2021 silverado started rattling, temperature gauge started going up, and losing power. Within a matter of minutes my truck shut off leaving me stranded in the middle of a four lane highway with no safe location to stop. The engine wouldn’t even turn over to try and crank back up so I could get the truck out of the road. After help getting my truck to a safe location I noticed oil and antifreeze leaking out of the bottom side of the engine. This truck was at love Chevrolet for engine failure on 8/14/24 and was told it was fixed and was never told about ongoing issues with this particular 6. 2 engine. I found out a few weeks ago while trying to trade my truck in to jim browne Chevrolet dealer that my particular truck the 2021 Chevrolet silverado high country with the 6. 2 engine had known issue with the engine locking up and was afraid to take my truck in on trade due to his service manger going through this same experience. So I paid top dollar for a high end Chevrolet truck to be stuck with not being able to trade it and now not being able to drive it. I called the dealer and was told that my trucks VIN number was not part of the recall for this issue but there are trucks that are the same year, model, and engine type that are covered under this recall. I’m now stuck making a 850 a month payment on a 58000 dollar truck that I can’t drive and can’t afford to replace an engine. Any help would be greatly appreciated. On my 2015 chevy silverado truck the service airbag light has been coming on sporadically. I did a google search and received this back. Yes, there has been a recall on the 2015 Chevrolet silverado regarding the airbag system, specifically affecting the roof-rail airbags (rrab) which may deploy without a collision due to a potential manufacturing defect in the inflator, causing parts to potentially propel into the cabin and injure occupants; this recall affects both the 2015 Silverado 1500 I did a search via my VIN number and your site tells me my truck is not applicable. Please provide some guidance. I need this fixed and should not be charged for the fix.
I was driving at approximately 35 -40 mph in foggy and wet conditions. As I approached a corner, I collided with a big metal dumpster. My airbags gave off that powder, and the smell was prominent, and the dash light came on. As well as, my side airbags (only the plastic) popped out, but, to my amazement, none of my actual airbags deployed at all. And my passenger seat belt was locked up to where I couldn't use it anymore, and no one was in that seat. Had I been in a frontal collision, I might have died. This is a major safety issue I have a 2107 Silverado 1500 lt.

Truck was purchased in June 8, 2021. I have had zero accidents , was assured it was not a salvage vehicle it displayed no warning lights I begin to received the notices, the warning light started to come on from time to time, took the truck to our local gosche chevy dealer. I was informed that it has an airbag for a 2500 truck and they will not replace it. I have not been in any accident with this vehicle. What am I to do, as I am a retired cancer /heart issues stricken senior citizen and this repair is not in my month to month budget and my only transportation for my medical appointments.
My vehicle has a recall on it ,I no longer feel safe driving it so I will like to have my vehicle replace with a new vehicle, that doesn't have safety hazard or recall.
I was in an accident and the truck is toatalled and the air bags did not deploy.

The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. While the contact's son was driving 25 mph, the air bag warning light illuminated, and the driver's and passenger's side air bags deployed unintendedly. The contact stated that when the passenger's side air bag cover detached, the air bag cover flew across the interior of the vehicle. In addition, the contact stated that after the air bags had deployed, the air bags warning lights turned off. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or the dealer. The vehicle was scheduled to be taken to the dealer to be diagnosed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 125,000.
My husband hit another vehicle, then proceeded across the road and crashed into a telephone pole. The airbags did not deploy. However the vehicle called onstar to report the crash. The nc state trooper and the towing company both indicated that they were also shocked that the air bags did not deploy. This is a brand new vehicle with 1100 miles and has been declared a total loss due to the severity of the front end damage. The the body shop was also commenting on this fact.

I started by vehicle and as soon as it started, I felt and heard a very loud explosion under the seat, and the seat belts retracted extremely tight. Then I noticed the airbag light on the dashboard. Smoke filled the cab of the truck. Then I realized the airbag module under the seat had exploded.
From the initial report, the driver was over speed limit. However, the airbags did not deploy that could have potentially saved his life.

To be clear, the vehicle was not in an accident. The check airbag light keeps pinging every few minutes while driving. So I took to the Chevrolet of watsonvill dealership and said the truck has a faulty passenger door airbag, which raises safety concerns for me. I have a [xxx] son as well as two [xxx] parents that sit in the passenger seat often and would hate for that faulty airbag to either deploy while driving or not deploy when needed. How do I see if this vehicle can be included in a safety recall? information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

Airbag light came on indicating an issue. Went to dealer and the codes that came up are b0030 (passenger instrument panel air bag deployment loop stage 2 short to ground) and b0413 (temperature control 1 feed back circuit actuator stuck). It cost $597. 67 to have a new airbag installed. I worry others couldn't afford this and it should be covered by the mfg due to the safety risk created from the vendor creating airbags that do not last the life of the vehicle.
After picking up my car from autonation Chevrolet for the same issue I am reporting, I was driving, and the car dashboard lights all came on. The ac stopped working, too.
Airbag light comes on and off intermittently for last year.
The contact owns a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the air bag warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the battery needed to be replaced and was causing the air bag warning light to illuminate inadvertently. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred. The contact was concerned that the air bags would deploy without the vehicle being involved in a crash. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 168,044.

Hi, I had all my side curtain airbags deploy in my truck without any accident and under normal driving conditions. The fronts did not deploy. I had no warning lights or airbag light prior to this event. I spoke with my insurance and they wanted to have my truck inspected. I took it to my local gm dealer. They inspected my truck and looked at the data from the airbag system and determined that they found no reason for why they should've gone off. The force from the airbag was such that I was in a daze and did not know what was going on. If this would've happened on the freeway during heavy traffic I am certain I would not have stayed in my lane and caused a very serious crash involving other vehicles. Lucky this was not the case and there were no cars close to me. The next morning when I woke up I had severe neck pain and an impaired memory. I went into urgent care to get looked at. They performed an x-ray and said it was okay and that it was just severe whiplash.
There was no incident yet light came on dash 2 days ago and I got a letter in mail for a recall.
