A battery icon comes on my dash with a message about the battery charging system needs to be serviced. It does not matter if the vehicle is stationary or driving this comes on for long enough to read then goes off. The tires pressure sensor is giving a messages as well about needing servicing. The driver's seatbelt latch has stopped allowing the clip to enter I was parked at the time this happened. I have since then tried to spray white lithium to get it moving since I did not have wd40. There was no success. I still have not been able to get the airbag recall fixed.

In late February 2019, I acquired a truck from a used dealership that I have done business with before. Upon obtaining this vehicle I started having issues right away. First issue I encountered, I was driving back to kansas city from lebanon,mo and all of the sudden my brakes went out and my steering locked up and truck started jerking really bad. I drove like this all the way home and took it to a mechanic and low and behold it's cost me $100 to repair the problem. Shortly after I noticed my truck was having issues with getting up to speed while getting on the highway. I would end up having the petal to the floor and it would still act like it didn't want to accelerate almost like a delay and then slowly gain speed. It felt as if it was slipping or it just wasn't getting any power. My oil pressure sensor had went out without me knowing at the time so I thought the problem had to deal with my oil pump. I finally took it back to the mechanic I used before and he ran a diagnostic test on my truck due to him not finding any issues besides my oil pressure sensor was defective. The diagnostic came back with multiple codes and 3 of them had to deal with the transmission. I decided to take my truck to my brother and have him look at it for a second opinion. Upon doing so he test drove and inspected the truck entirely and concluded that he didn't feel there was an issue with the truck at all. He ran his own diagnostic on it as well but his cane back with no codes that came up at all. So I drove off confused because of all the different information that was given to me on top of the problems I knew I was having because the truck wasn't running like it did when I drove it off the lot. Some time past and then another problem. My brakes and rotors were trashed and needed to be replaced ASAP and then my odometer started reading service air bag and would not go off.

B0085 code faulty left front side impact sensor. Left front side impact sensor harness is open or shorted. Left front side impact sensor circuit poor electrical connection faulty inflatable restraint sensing and diagnostic module (sdm). The wiring harness that goes through the door hing break apart inside the insulator causing the airbag sensor in the driver door not to work. It is a very dangurous issue and a very expensive issue to have fixed. This should be a recall issued.

Chevrolet used extremely thin wires and the wiring harness that goes through the door hing break apart inside the insulator causing the airbag sensor in the driver door not to work. Other people with same truck have had same issue. It is a very dangurous issue and a very expensive issue to have fixed. This should not be happening wire you not break inside the insulator.
Airbag sensor service light goes on for a while then goes off for a while if not moving when the service light comes on stays on if the service light is off when not moving it stays off.

During a lateral merge procedure from a 30 degree decline to a city street moving at 16 mph with minimal lateral acceleration the rollover sensor showed a 68 degree spike within 210 milliseconds engaging the side curtain airbags and seat belt locks. Giving the driver a concussion. Gm has declared normal system operation.
Takata recall - this issue has been goibg on since 2016 and there still isnt a solution. My air bag sensor goes on from time to time and it really stressesme out not knowing if something is going to go wrong. I have called my nearest dealership to see if there is an update or if they can provide me with a loaner in the meantime, and the answer is 'no' I have two children and their safety is my number 1 priority.

The contact owns a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. While operating the vehicle, the air bag sensor remained illuminated at all times. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer (heidebreicht Chevrolet in washington, mi) where it was diagnosed that the front air bag sensor was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and did not assist. The failure mileage was 70,000.
My wheel sensor is on since I purchased and in the dmv theres a recall.
I dont even know if this is the right place for this. My airbag sensor was giving me warnings since the summer of 2016. Finally late 2016 early 2017 I got a notice that my airbag sensor was recalled. Since then I have checked multiple times to see if they had a fix for it. Nothing. For almost 4 years I've been driving a truck that if I was in any kind of collision we dont know what would happen. I need answers and gm dosent seem to have any. What am I suppose to do?.

My air bag sensor light came on and will not go off. The dealer that I deal with wants me to put in a new sensor in, and it will cost me around $500. 00. They said that if I was to get into an accident, the air bags and the seatbelts might not deploy. Should this be a recall item?.
Tl- the contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet sivlerado 1500. The contact stated that while driving approximately 25 mph the driver lost control of the vehicle and collided head on with a tree limb. During the incident the roll sensors were activated causing both the driver and passenger side curtain air bags to erroniously deploy. No police report was taken. No injuries were reported. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 25,000. Jft.

The contact owns a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that the sensor that activated the air bags was fractured. The fracture prevented the air bags from deploying. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the sensor was installed too tight, which caused it to fracture. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 76,569.
Passenger air bag sensor developed a short with the connection.
Started getting an "service srs system" dic notification and srs. I was able to narrow down the cause to opening the drivers side front door. Used a scan tool to read the codes and it was throwing code b0085 symptom 00 which is a side impact sensor. Replaced side impact sensor and issues persist with the same symptoms. I was directed by a few mechanics that Chevrolet had changed the gauge of the wires and they have seen multiple failures within the shielding which does not have any signs of wear. Using an ohm meter I tested out the sensor wires and sure enough when the door is closed the wire has contact however if it moves at all it breaks creating an open loop. I have looked over every inch of the harness and there is zero signs of wear on the protective cover, tape, or even the wire insulator itself.
I own a 2007 Chevrolet silverado (VIN 1gcek19037z631405). Recently I had an air bag service warning which was dealer diagnosed as a failed sensor and the unit replaced. My review of the failed part showed the same damage as the failed sensor I had replaced last year. The damage indicates the sensor cases were cracked open by over tightening of the mounting hardware (refer to the attached photograph). The sensor is a high value part (part plus installation $ 375) that has to have a high reliability. The corrosion present at the case failure must have caused the diagnostic system to show a fault. Since this is critical part, an installation torque must have been designated and the torque either was wrong or improperly adjusted.
Having vehicle washed a "service air bag warning" lluminated. Scheduled service and dealer diagnosed front impact sensor defective. Part is visably defective with cracks and deformation present. Looks to have been defective for quite some time as a lot of corrosion is present. Called gm customer care to inform them part could have been defective from manufacturer. They claimed part was replaced due to wear. I stated this was unacceptable for a saftey related part to wear at this vehicle age. Part # 15297468.
There was an explosion and seat belts tightened up,the deployer for air bags went off, luckily the air bags didn't go off or I would have been in an accident. I complained to gm because there was a call back in 2010 of faulty sensors getting corroded because they are located in a damp area. Gm stated that they were no longer responsible because it was over five years old and over 100,000 miles. But my concern is how dangerous this is when you are just driving down the street and they go off causing a accident. I want gm to pay for repairs so that I can have seat belts again but they claim no responsibility and want me to pay $1200. 00 to $1500. 00 to have seat belts and air bags again.
While on my way to the cancer centers of America located in atlanta, I noticed the oil gauge needle kept moving below the middle, when I returned home took to chevy dealership that changed sensor and gasket kit. Still having problem with vehicle. Chevy dealer stated that, that's what the needle does. . . I've had the oil changed and still same problem. . . . . I also noticed that when you turn on the 4x4 button it doesn't show the 4x4 emblem on the dash board. . . . . Also addressed with dealer they said it doesn't show on dash board. . . Another problem that just happened is that it's stating to service air bag. . . I own a chevy trail blazer 2004 and have never had these problems not with oil gauges, seat belt sensors nor 4x4 emblems on the dash. . . . . My husband and I bought the vehicle on Nov 2014 with 96,000 miles on it the chevy dealer here says that these are normal. . . . I feel that these are not normal, because you don't know if you have oil in the truck, the air bag is faulty and can't tell if your driving on 4x4. . . . Please check into these things. . . . I appreciate your attention.
I was hit from front driver side with a trail blazer. After repair about a couple weeks my airbag sensor lit up on my dash. I believe this may be from her hitting my truck front end. Maybe. When it was repaired they might of pulled or blew sensor . I paid for computer diagnosis and then told insurance company. They said I would get money. Back if related. To accident. They said not related and I won't get my money back. Also insurance. Said this is an occurring. Problem. With my 2008 truck. However not enough people complain so gm won't call a recall.
The air bag warning came on disabling drivers air bag. After checking this out I found this was a real common problem in this age silverados. Problem is a sensor that cost 400$ to repair at dealer. If this is a common problem shouldn't gm fix the defect at their cost? how many owners of this age truck opt not to have this defect fixed due to cost? this endangers owners and passengers and gm should be liable. Thank you, scott.

The front airbag impact sensor has failed. The housing has cracked and the bolt that secures it is corroded. This seems to be a very common defect with this make and model of truck. I'm concerned that this will cause my airbag to deploy unabated. Gm has not issued a recall on this part as of yet, but this is in my opinion a serious manufactuer's defect in design of this part. I refuse to pay the nearest gm dealer $350 to replace a defective restraint system part.
Service air bake light came on when I started the vehicle. After doing some research I have learned that the air bag sensors in the front of the vehicle are known for going bad. The oem part cracks and causes failure and loss of the air bag function. Also with research I learned that gm has done nothing to improve or fix this problem. I feel that gm should conduct a safety recall on these sensors so their product does not fail and the passengers inside the vehicle stay protected.
The contact owns a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that the front air bag warning lamps were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The technician diagnosed that the air bag sensor and diagnostic module were corroded and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. Air bag warning dash light came on and was directed to have air bag checked. Both front bumper crash sensors needed to be replaced. Part # ad7468xju9vy and ad7468xju9ww at a cost of $426. 50.
Tl-the contact owns a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated while driving approximately 40 mph, the front driver's and passenger's side curtain air bags inadvertently deployed with warning. There was no impact to the vehicle when the failure occurred. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer who informed that both air bag sensors corroded which contributed to the unexpected deployment. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 40,300. Js.
"service air bag" check engine light on when starting 2006 silverado; gm dealers diagnosed airbag sensor malfunctioning requires replacement. This safety issue has been reported in 2009 at edmunds. Com by others. Called, emailed and twitted gm since 14 may 2014. After 13 phone tags with 4 gm customer care specialists and 2 dealer service reps (include manager) and 5 days, a verbal word from gm "your vehicle is way belong gm's responsibility". . . We are 'ticked" around by gm and the dealer with a case # and don't see this safety concern is being addressed by gm. @ gm also has electrical heating/cooling issues with this vehicle. @please be warned that if you are driving a gm vehicle, seriously consider you, your family and anyone else safety on the road! let's not place ours and anyone else on the line again for gm! #sadly after we, the american public have bailed out gm. . . . . :(.
I bought a 2005 silverado from my mother, and she bought the truck off of a used dealer lot purchasing for 12,500 four years ago. Since then the truck has had an air bag sensor replaced and it once again showing the air bag needs serviced, which can be very dangerous to truck owners in situations of a crash. Was told they go out commonly. The truck has also had an abs issue since it was purchased on the lot, we sent it back to be fixed, and the issue was never solved, it has been looked at by three technicians. This is also a public safety hazard if the abs causes the brakes to fail. The truck also has numerous electrical issues, such as the gear selector does not illuminate, in which case someone may not be able to determine what gear they are in and cause an incident, the headlight, tail light, brake light, and marker lights are always blowing bulbs, the dash cluster doesn't always want to illuminate either, this could cause a crash especially at dark when you cannot see the rpm, speedo, oil press, temp, or any other gage present.
Airbag impact sensor, front gm oe 15297468 cracks, corrodes, and stops working. Poorly designed and a potential safety issue if in an accident. Needs to be recalled.
Both air bag sensors underneith the radiator have deteriorated andcracked in half.

The catalytic converter had strong sulfur smell after the first year. I complained to chevy dealer and was told there was no problem. By year three I complained for the third time again was told no problem the computer didn't show a code. I asked the mechanic to take it for a drive he returned saying the cat was junk it was replaced and I was told only to run top tier gas I did that but after about 8 months it smelled again my truck is just five years old and I need another converter, my power locks have each been replaced three times in second and third year. Now I need new airbag sensor and my truck has never been hit .
