Happens 3-4 a week when driving: I turn turn signal on and headlights flicker truck feels like losses power, if making a u-turn steering wheel gets hard and truck feels like stalling out. On highway going 65mph stabilitrak light flashed twice and truck felt sluggish very brief. When exiting highway and turning onto city street at 30mph very briefly the truck lost power and steering was like stuck, almost caused accident, truck felt like it turned off and on and jolted forward very hard and went back to normal. When I pulled into a parking lot the stabilitrak light came back on and truck stalled briefly again while turning at 15mph, all dash lights came on and power steering lost, truck went back to normal on its own.

Full enjine failure at 371 miles causing loss of control. Vehicle was driveing on city street about 30mph when failure happen. Just prior to that vehicle stalled in traffic at a stop when waiting for a red light. Spring broken in piston causeing failure. Also had problems with info. System blanking out and no radio then when it did work no volume control on the radio. Info. System first failed when backing up and no radio at all. Second time when moving forward but I had radio but no volume control. 3rd time when backing up and no radio at all. 4th time when driving forward and no radio volume control, then a few minutes latter the engine fully failed. This vehilce was bought new and only had 371 miles on it. The engine is a 5. 3 votec gm engine.

When attempting to start from a stop at an intersection when the auto start/stop function has stopped the engine, the vehicle will frequently hesitate to start, then once started exhibits unusual engine/transmission behavior. This truck is now on its fifth check-engine light service for identical failures of the auto start/stop function. The gm onstar diagnostics reports indicate 2 failure modes, one with the engine/transmission and the other with the lithium-ion battery. I have several concerns. 1, I may be stranded at an intersection with a vehicle that will not restart and/or has stalled in the intersection and 2, the lithium-ion battery will fail catastrophically leading to a vehicle fire.

When driving vehicle (ours does not have the stop start technology); however when idling low or coming to a stop the vehicle will jerk then die. The motor will completely shut off; stalling, the only way to restart is to put the vehicle in neutral or park and turn ignition again. The motor shuts off entirely user is unable to drive; presents a huge safety issue. Pushing gas petal does not work even if it did have the stop start technology.

Merging into 70 to 80 mph traffic on interstate i95 my truck stalled abruptly to 45 mph and at 3000 rpm would not shift out of the lower gear it went it. I had to merge quickly to the emergency lane with on coming traffic doing all they could to get around around me. Had to have the vehicle towed.

Turned a corner while braking, the engine died, "service stabilitrac soon" illuminated on the instrument panel; driving down the road pulling a light weight boat trailer, the engine died but came back on immediately and the "service stabilitrac" illuminated; pulled into a parking lot and as I turned about halfway through the turn the engine died and "service stabilitrac soon" illuminated. I took to the truck to the Chevrolet dealer and they diagnosed the positive battery terminal was loose and the positive cable had too much resistance - $507. 00 later and approximately 10,000 miles later reared it's ugly head again. Coming back from a morning drive to the lake and the 'service stabilitrac' light illuminated but the truck didn't die, a little further down the road it did the same thing and died but started right back up on its own while driving, started to back into my driveway and it died in the middle of the road, turned the ignition off and attempted to start it two or three more times, nothing!!! it's like there was no battery installed. Every time this happens I lose steering, the brakes seem to fade but I am able to stop on the slow turns like into the parking lot. In all instances the vehicle was moving. One time I noticed an increase in the a/c speed within the cab and the 'service stabilitrac' illuminated but as soon as I turned about half way into a parking area, it died, but continued to pick back up on the engine running. The local dealer had also perfomed some service bulletin regarding the campaign for 'loss of steering assist' at 19,340 miles. The vehicle currently has 42,000 miles. . . . . The date "when did this happen" was today 7/16/2019 but the other times were various before this date.

The contact also stated that the leak started a month ago. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, they determined that the vehicle needed a new condenser installed, vacuum and refiled with freon. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle suffered intermittent failures to start (engine would not crank). The initial attempt to repair the issue by the dealer was to replace the battery and negative battery cable. The battery being replaced was less than 3 years old and it was the second battery the dealer had replaced in less than 5 years. The initial repairs failed. Ultimately, the problem was a faulty starter motor. A check of the part number of the factory starter motor that had been removed (see attached photo) indicates it is compatible with 2014 Chevrolet silverado/GMC sierra 1500 with the 4. 3l v6 engine. However, this vehicle has the 5. 3l v8 engine. Either the incorrect part was installed at the factory or gm determined it is not appropriate for the 5. 3l v8 engine and discontinued using it for this model. Regardless, gm never made any notification of the issue.

I have a 2014 chevy silverado pick up truck. I have been extremely pleased with this truck until yesterday!!!! at 22,000 miles the truck malfunctioned twice within a short distance. The truck some what stalled with out warning and all the dash lights went crazy and truck lost power. Less than a half mile later while turning left in a cul DE sac the truck went crazy, stalled, dash lit up, the steering wheel violently turned to the right as I was attempting to turn left. Immediately took it into service. 4 days past warranty expiration. Chevy/jessup auto grp won't fix it. Kevin in service said he would call me on wed at 4 with update. Thurs at 11am still no word. Dropped by service dept. For update with kevin. He said they didn't have price ready for repair. Denied coverage under recently expired warranty. When I showed him a list of serious computer malfunctions and safety issues from online chevy truck owners he told me he wasn't interested and he had other people to tend to. He also said I dropped by without an appointment. In other words, I no longer was a priority. When asked for service dept general mgr. ---OH-he is not available. So now my low mileage truck sits with no repair, appears to be a hazard to drive, gm not standing behind nor has a fix for the computer malfunctions that has been reported widespread on carcomplaints. Com , leaves me with a very expensive paper weight that I am fearful to drive. It's another ignition key gm cover up and until enough people die and the feds get involved -- it appears I am driving a truck that is a danger to the road and jessup could care less !!.

On thursdsy, April 27, 2017, I parked my 2009 chevy silverado at home in my driveway after work and shut it off for the night. It was stationary at that point. I did not restart it or move it for the remainder of the day/evening. The next morning, the engine would not start. It sounded like it was going to start, but to no avail after several tries. I determined it was not getting fuel. I called a local auto repair tech who diagnosed it on site, to be a faulty chassis electronic control module, which sends fuel to the fuel pump. Upon researching the problem, I found a recall bulletin / product safety recall #14515b issued January 2015. It clearly states that the 2007-2013 Chevrolet silverado (along with many other makes/models/years) may have a chassis electronic module could have internal contamination (water, build-up causing wire and bolt corrosion).
