When I took my 2007 Chevrolet silverado with 36,000iles for inspection I was informed that two monitors were not functioning. These were the O2 sensor and the O2 sensor heater. Everything else passed. I was told that these may have been subject to a recall.

While driving, the service emission system light activated indicating the truck would be reduced to 65mph. This was due to a faulty egr wiring harness that controlled the egr sensor.

----warning light flashing at 103 miles on vehicle ,, dealer reset ----450 miles on vehicle stalling ,,warning lights ecm - engine systemp2635 the engine and transmission system is not performing as expected. An issue has been detected in the fuel management system used to maintain, control and monitor fuel consumption. If the check engine light is flashing, a misfire condition has been detected. A misfire increases vehicle emissions and could damage the emission control system on the vehicle. Please reduce vehicle speed, avoid hard accelerations, avoid steep uphill grades, and reduce any cargo loads such as a trailer. If the vehicle is continually driven with the check engine light on, the emission controls might not work as well, the vehicle fuel economy might not be as good, and the engine might not run as smoothly. This could lead to future repairs. Vehicle was towed to maltbie chevy and has been there since Feb 24th.

Exhaust manifold bolts malfunction allowing exhaust gases to enter cab of vehicle. This also can cause wrong readings to the emission control system ( oxygen sensor ) to richen the gas mixer to engine causing emission problems. Reason for compliant, after checking internet sites. I found out this is a to common of a problem with Chevrolet ( gm ) v8 engines. The auto repair shop I took my vehicle to, knew of this problem every well. They get several of this type of repairs monthy. They remove exhaust manifold, re-surface, remove broken bolts and reassenble using all new bolts and gasket. $350. Fyi.

Continuing problem with loss of acceleration/power but only when it is not raining or when the humidity is below 95%. This results in poor fuel economy. I also witnessed the evap purge solenoid making unusual/loud knocking sounds. Been to dealer 6 times for this performance issue. The only code found was for defective evap canister. It ran better but did not fix it. With my scanner, it takes almost a week to finish system testing on the evap circuit where it only takes one warm-up and cool-down to finish testing on all the other circuits. My suspicion is that the evap purge solenoid needs to be replaced. I'm tired of paying $100 diagnostic fees to be told "there's nothing wrong with the truck". I know better since I've driven and worked on my own trucks for more than 20 years now.
