I purchase a brand new 2026 silverado zr2 with a 6. 2 engine. A little over a week later at 511 miles it left me stranded on the side of the road. Towed it to the dealership and the dealership advised there was a misfire and cylinder number eight. However, they were unable to find a solution and had to contact gm engineers. I had to replace it with another new vehicle and lost money on the “trade”. Dealership only advised that “it needed extensive repairs”. It’s clear that the 6. 2 issue had not been addressed properly.
Leaking oil cooler lines that had a customer satisfaction campaign but it’s over and now they are leaking.

I am filing a complaint regarding a potential recurring safety defect related to recall NHTSA 25v274 (gm n252494001). On July 29, 2025, my vehicle stalled while driving on the highway and was towed to quality Chevrolet. The dealer diagnosed a failed starter and battery fuse link. During this visit, I authorized inspection for recall 25v274, concerning possible crankshaft or connecting rod failure. I was told my vehicle was not affected but the dealer performed the recall remedy by changing the oil to 0w-40. On October 5, 2025, the vehicle developed a loud knocking noise from the engine. Quality Chevrolet diagnosed a connecting rod failure, the same issue identified in the recall. On October 10, 2025, I was advised that gm approved a full engine replacement due to internal damage. However, I was also told the new engine will use lower viscosity 0w-20 oil, contradicting the prior remedy intended to prevent this failure. This suggests the original recall fix was only a temporary measure, and the defect remains unresolved. I request that NHTSA investigate whether the current recall remedy adequately corrects this safety issue and whether gm’s use of 0w-20 oil could allow repeat failures. Additionally, I request assistance or reimbursement for vehicle payments, as my vehicle has been undrivable for an extended period due to a manufacturer defect. Thank you for your time and attention. I can provide all service records and diagnostic reports upon request.

Pulling a trailer down the freeway and the vehicle went into limp mode. After getting to the closest dealer for inspection, it was determined that the vehicle needed to have the engine replaced.
I have had a problem with the theft deterrent system which, shuts the truck down and issues a message saying "turn the driver side window down and then up". After 5 minutes the truck starts back up by itself? this has occurred sitting in popeyes drive thru line in August 2024 in benton harbor, mi. This has occurred 3 times in the past week, 09/25/25 driving on garrett road it shut down during the entry into a "s curve" 09/26/25 driving into my drive way 09/28/25 driving into my drive way took the truck into wimberley chevy dealer and they searched for error codes and checked some of the ground wires not connected properly and found the negative cable on battery was ok. I don't know if any other wire connectors were checked, however I have had this before and the dealer said they would have to keep the truck as it may take quite some time in confirming all connections were good. The service manage of levalley cheverolet stated that they would require a $1,000 deposit for them to start looking into the problem and again require another $1,000 deposit to continue and then another etc. I will not drive my truck on any major highway or in any very busy large city for fear of having a return of another shutdown and no place to pull into as I was only coasting when I entered the "s curves" and had space.

The 5. 3 engine in the 2015 chevy silverado had lifter failure. The engine needed to be repaired and taken out of the truck. The engine needed a full repair of the lifters, camshaft, gaskets, etc. Which ended in a costly repair.
I have a 2024 Silverado 1500 z71. I purchased new, within the first month I started experiencing issues related to the fuel. Stalling, dying, missing at idle and failing to start. I’ve reported it to the dealerships, with the same response unable to duplicate. Sept 22, 2025 I was driving alone rounding a curve in the road when my vehicle lost complete power causing me to loose control crashing into trees. I was unharmed physically, but mentally this hurt. To know this all could have been avoided had chevy customer service or the dealerships listen and looked at the dtc that were clearly shown. P3187 fuel pump pressure performance low pressure. Stated failed since last cleared. Dealership did not acknowledge or discuss with me this dtc. Instead they gave me a multi point inspection stating unable to duplicate. There negligence caused me to wreck.

Engine idling rough shaking stalling loss of power.
The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed with cruise control mode activated, the vehicle inadvertently went into limp mode and lost motive power. The contact was able to pull to the shoulder of the roadway, where the vehicle was able to restart. After restarting the vehicle, the contact heard an abnormal knocking sound coming from the engine compartment, which prompted the contact to discontinue driving the vehicle. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the connecting rod failure had resulted in engine damage. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be rebuilt or replaced. The contact related the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 25v274000(engine and engine cooling); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was filed. The contact was referred to the NHTSA hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 95,000.
The contact owns a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while her husband was driving approximately 60 mph, the vehicle started shaking and lost motive power. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The driver was able to drive the vehicle back to the residence at a reduced speed. The vehicle was then driven to a local dealer to be diagnosed. The dealer diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the engine control module and sensors needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The vehicle was retrieved; however, while driving off the lot, the check engine warning light illuminated, and the vehicle started shaking violently. The vehicle was with the dealer. The dealer then diagnosed the vehicle and determined that two of the lifters in the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 25v274000 (engine and engine cooling); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and confirmed that the VIN was not included in the recall. The contact was referred to the NHTSA hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.
Engine shut off while driving ,and would not start again . Upon inspection from gm dealer they stated the high pressure fuel pump. Cam shaft and lifters need to be replaced . . . There was no sign of failure prior to shut down.
While driving at anywhere from 18–25 mph or 70–85 mph, my speedometer starts going crazy, the engine accelerates or decelerates, the speedometer shows random numbers, and you can hear and feel that the motor power feels different. Not all the times but is started to show more often.
One day when headed out of town I stopped and got gas immediately once getting back on the highway my dash lit up like a christmas tree, driving became uncomfortable as it sputtered when trying to give gas. I looked up a couple of the dash warning lights and it alluded to emission problems. I take the truck to the mechanic and he says that a head is cracked and the cam shaft needs to be repaired. This issue came out of nowhere, no prior issues as far as over heating or any dash lights on.
Component/system failure and availability for inspection: while driving at 70 miles per hour on the interstate, the vehicle suffered a complete loss of oil pressure. The engine warning light illuminated, and the vehicle simultaneously stopped operating. The vehicle and its components are available for inspection upon request. Safety risk: this failure posed a severe risk to my safety and the safety of others. The sudden and complete loss of engine function at highway speed could easily have resulted in a serious accident. I was fortunate the incident occurred in an area that was not heavily populated at the time. Under different circumstances, this failure could have led to life-threatening consequences. Reproduction/confirmation of the problem: the issue has not yet been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center, but the nature of the failure was sudden, significant, and left the vehicle inoperable. Inspection by others: the vehicle has not yet been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives, but it remains available for review. Warning lamps/messages/symptoms: the only indicator prior to the failure was the immediate illumination of the engine light as the oil pressure dropped. This warning appeared at the same moment the vehicle lost power and stopped operating, leaving no opportunity to respond before the vehicle was disabled. Numerous comments and complaints with the same issue. Cust satisfaction n212326940, does it take someone getting injured or dying before this administration makes the compnay do the right thing?.
The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that the “low oil” warning light was illuminated often, and the contact was adding oil to the vehicle every 2 weeks. The contact became aware of customer satisfaction program: n212326940 (engine oil cooler lines detaching from crimp). The dealer was contacted, and the contact was provided with an estimate of the cost for replacing the coolant lines. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and referred the contact to the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 94,300.
While driving "no oil pressure" alarm went off on my 2019 Chevrolet silverado. I had to immediately pull off to the side of the road, upon inspection the oil cooler line separated at the crimp joint. This is the exact failure mode as described in "n212326940 - customer satisfaction engine oil cooler lines detaching from crimp". I have my truck at a gm dealership and they said my VIN is not included on the TSB. I also contacted gm customer service and was told the same that my VIN was not effected by this issue. My failure is the same mode as the documented issue, it has to be related to part quality issue as described on n212326940. The gm dealership is charging me $2000 to replace the line.
Purchased new and service maintained. At 65,000 miles all warning lights came on and truck began to misfire and lost power. Was taken to a garage where it was determined to have bad lifters and camshaft. Warranty just expired and now it needs a new engine.
2021 chevy silverado engine was under the 6. 2 recall on sept 4 2025. The engine blew and the truck was taken to local Chevrolet dealer. It had 38k miles on it. It stillf ell under the original powertrain warranty and the recall. Dealer informed me new engine was needed and ordered. It has been 2 months and the engine has not shipped from gm. 60 days is more than adequate time for this issue to be resolved. Gm has made no attempts to make this right. Please help.
I am filing a formal complaint regarding a serious safety concern with my 2021 Chevrolet silverado, following the completion of recall n252494001 performed by galleria Chevrolet in dallas, TX. Prior to this recall work and related inspections, my vehicle operated without any abnormal engine noise. After the recall inspection and a subsequent fuel injector repair performed by the dealer, my vehicle began producing a bottom-end engine noise that had never been present before, and ultimately we have catastrophic engine failure. What is highly concerning is that the dealership staff previously documented the situation in writing as follows: “we performed the recall inspection and the truck passed. After performing an injector repair now there is a bottom-end noise when it's running. Did the failed injector possibly affect the validity of the test? that may be the case. We know that the truck did not experience the noise before the inspection; is it possible that the steps we took affected the truck in a way that got the noise to show itself? that’s what we need to determine. ” despite this acknowledgment, the dealership is now denying any responsibility, classifying the damage as unrelated “wear and tear”. This reversal appears highly suspicious, as it contradicts their own observations and written notes. It suggests that the dealership and gm may be refusing to fulfill their obligations under the recall and repair warranty, leaving me with a vehicle that has a blown engine and a significant safety risk. Given the timing of the noise, occurring directly after recall work and injector repair, and the internal documentation from the dealership itself, I request NHTSA investigate whether: this issue is part of a broader trend affecting other vehicles under the same recall. Gm and its dealers are properly honoring their obligations to fully repair vehicles impacted by recalls. Consequential damage resulting from recall work is being systematically denied coverage.

Once we drove approximately 20miles, the engine light began flashing, in addition to the parking break light turning on.
