On Thursday Feb 18th is was snowing when I left work, drove around the beltway approximately 30 miles going on average 30-40 mph. No issues just bad roads. Right after I left the highway and turned on to a main road, I was approximately 1 mile on that road in the middle lane driving straight at about 25-30 mph when my new 2021 silverado (5000 miles) loss power. The battery and check engine light came on with no engine power. As the vehicle was coasting attempted to get off the main road, but didn't make it due to the snow covered roads and slush. Ended up in a merge lane still in traffic and was almost hit numerous times. Tried to restart and get to a safe location, but when pushing the start button the silverado would crank extremely long period of time and then final cutout. Was on the phone with on star where they put me in contact with the local police department who never showed and then left me a message they were coming out due to the inclement weather. Thanks. After talking with police dispatch on star setup a tow truck, but gave them the wrong address which was more than an hour away from my location. Once back on the phone on star stated they had to call the same tow truck driver/company which of course he was over an hour away. Once the tow truck driver arrived 3 hours after my truck broke down he said he was originally only 10 minutes from my location prior to on star sending him to the wrong location. What a mess. Have a loaner car because I have been told a fuel pump is on national backorder. Also that they will be replacing the valve springs which is another issue I think? hoping to know more this week.

A battery icon comes on my dash with a message about the battery charging system needs to be serviced. It does not matter if the vehicle is stationary or driving this comes on for long enough to read then goes off. The tires pressure sensor is giving a messages as well about needing servicing. The driver's seatbelt latch has stopped allowing the clip to enter I was parked at the time this happened. I have since then tried to spray white lithium to get it moving since I did not have wd40. There was no success. I still have not been able to get the airbag recall fixed.

I was driving around the back of a shopping plaza when my engine started to make a stalling sound followed by my belts squealing. My gauges looked fine and then I looked at my side mirror to see smoke trailing my vehicle. I stop and open my hood to see the entire engine compartment filled with smoke. I couldn't see any damage at that point to pin point the problem. My vehicle was towed to a chevy dealership and the mechanic told me my a. C. Compressor seized up due to lack of oil in the compressor and my engine belt was destroyed (which was the cause of the smoke). I did notice every time I turned the fan on in my vehicle the a. C. Light would always come on by itself engaging the compressor for the a. C. System. This vehicle is 3 years old with 39450 miles on it and this incident should not have happened. I had to pay the dealership almost $1000 for the repair.

Takata recall-I was in a wreck 12-24-2017 and I was hit from behind. The bed of my truck was hit so hard by a distracted driver while I was at a stop light, that it twisted up and hit the cab of the truck. My airbags never deployed and my seatbelt never locked up. I am severely injured and am still seeking treatment for my injuries. It was over $11,000 in damages. The truck now down shifts and it sounds likie the bottom is dropping out. It also shakes when at highway speed.

I was over looking my truck checking the belts, hoses and fluids. I found a broken exhaust manifold bolt on the back driver side. I tried calling the dealership I left a voicemail but no call back as of yet. I am finding out that gm will not recall the common breaking problem with these bolts. These bolts that are breaking are causing the check engine light to come on and also could cause a fire. There are a lot of other things I am finding out that are happening to vehicles/engines due to these bolts breaking. I was told to file a complaint with you to help get the problem fixed. I hope to hear back form you in some way.

The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. While driving highway speeds with the air conditioner activated, a belt fractured and caused heat to enter the vehicle. The contact was waiting for a response to determine if a dealer would be able to diagnose the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 40,000.
The contact owns a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. While driving 70 mph, the battery indicator illuminated. The contact attempted to pull the vehicle over when he observed that the steering wheel had seized and took great effort to turn. Also, the brakes failed when the brake pedal was depressed. The contact was able to stop using the fifth wheel camping trailer that was hitched with electronic brakes to slow and eventually stop the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to an unknown dealer where it was diagnosed that the serpentine belt and idler pulley failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted or made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 151,041.

I've had to get a new paint job because clear coat was coming off. Egnition switch locked up. Check engine light has come on multiple times I take it to the dealership and they say nothing is wrong with it. But tell me I can't let it get below a half tank of gas. Back axles lock up. And seat belts lock when going about 50 miles per hour. And the air condenser cought on fire. Now when I take it to the dealership they say they can not diagnose the problem. I have spent around $6000 in repairs.
My 1500 series truck has chirping noise coming from engine. Currently has 80k miles and noise is not coming from pulley or belts as our mechanic has replaced them and noise still sounds. Noise is coming from engine. Taking vehicle to dealer. This noise is annoying!.
-the contact was driving a 2005 Dodge durango at about 5 mph when a stick knocked off the serpentine belt. The contact said that he then lost power to brakes and steering as a result. The contact called the manufacturer and the dealer. The belt was replaced under warranty, but they said that there was no change that could be made to the truck to prevent this problem from recurring. The consumer discovered the serpentine belt had been pulled from the engine by a small stick. The consumer discovered that then engine sits 10 inches back which allows road debris to enter. Updated 02/22/07.

: the contact stated while stopped at an intersection, the steering locked up, and the steering wheel could not be turned to the left. This was accompanied by the the sound of hydraulic resistance. The vehicle was not taken in for service. Second, a piece of plastic fell off the interior of the vehicle. Causing the driver seat to slide freely on the adjuster track when the contact sat in the seat. The vehicle was taken to a service dealer who was unable to determine the problem. Third, the contact replaced the daytime running lights twice. The lights only worked for 3 to 6 months at a time before having to be replaced. The lights were not addressed by a dealer or a private repair shop. Fourth, the headlamp switch constantly became excessively hot during operation of the headlamps. The vehicle was not taken in for inspection of the switch. Fifth, when the 4-wheel drive mode was engaged, the wheels did not turn independently, causing increased effort in turning the vehicle. This problem was not inspected. Sixth, the starter failed while attempting to start the vehicle. Upon inspection of the starter, it was noticed that the housing was cracked. A private mechanic was consulted, who notified the contact that this was a common problem. Finally, the passenger seat belt did not feed enough to allow for passenger comfort which caused the passenger to be abraised by the belt. The inertial control seemed to be intermittent. The seat belts were not inspected by either a private repair shop or a service dealer.
