Engine started ticking noise during winter 2020 at about km 83000. I changed engine oil. During winter no noise at start up, once the operating temp reaches 100 * f. Ticking noise starts. I took it to dealer, told me lifters, gave me quote for camshaft & lifters, very expensive. I hear these engines are known for hydraulic lifter problems. I just parked the truck as winter snow & cold. Out of warranty. My mileage is low. I contacted gmcanada, they refer me back to dealer. Then another dealer told me get ac delco engine oil supplement, gm product. I used this, no improvement, more noise, got worse. I parked the truck during winter. Please look in to this. Engine noise at around km 83000 ? I change engine oil & filter regularly. Quaker state synthetic engine oil, I live in canada. I have family in USA.

Frequently when driving truck will do some or all of the following things, door locks locking and unlocking, dash lights flashing, stereo coming on and off, electronic stability control turns off, all lights, exterior and interior, turn off and on sometimes staying off long enough at night will scare you, truck speeds up but then sometimes losing power. All of those things happen when the truck is in motion. I drive on the highway every day which is bad when truck does these things. Not a safe situation for me. Then sometimes when you turn it off you hear a loud clicking noise. If you do nothing battery will be dead when you try to start it next time. I can get it to stop the clicking by raising hoo I and tapping on positive battery can I let or the mega fuse that is on the firewall. 6 Engine Clicking And Tapping Noises problem of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Failure Date: 06/08/2019

While parked in a parking lot, the vehicle would not start. The truck mad a clicking sound and all lights lit up on dashboard, but no concise error message. Truck then started, but lost power when I put it into reverse with all lights coming on again. Turned off ignition and then the truck started. Drove the truck 2 miles to my home and when pulling into my driveway, the truck lost total power and nearly caused me to crash in to a parked vehicle. I was able to avoid the collision and I turned the key off in the ignition. I waited a minute and the truck started without issue. The next morning, the truck had the same issue starting - clicking sound but would not start. It finally started and I took it to my local shop to get a diagnosis. They could not find the issue. The next day, the same clicking noise occurred and it wouldn't start after multiple attempts. I called aaa to have my vehicle towed to the shop. When aaa came, the mechanic was able to start the vehicle. I then drove it to the repair shop for another diagnosis. They could not pinpoint the issue and recommended that I take the truck to the nearby Chevrolet dealership, which I did. They had it for 2 days and could not find an issue - drove, tested, diagnosed multiple times to no avail. Truck also did not show any signs of power loss, etc. Today, for the fifth time in the last 8 days, there was an issue. Truck started normally, drove approx. 2 miles and parked. When attempting to start, the same problem occurred - clicking sound, lights lighting up on the dash board and this time, a stabiltrak error came on and off. Truck then started after 3 attempts so I drove it home. Went to restart and the clicking sound with lights on the dash lit up again. The power loss while driving has occurred 3 times in the past, but the vehicle started up with no other issues. Had this truck for 4 years with no issues until now.

Failure Date: 12/24/2015

The engine has a ticking noise like a lifter out of adjustment. I'm told this is normal its a ticking fuel pump for the fuel injectors. I think gm is better than that and can figure out how to quite it down. If there engineers can't figure it gm should consider finding some that can! the next time I buy a gm product it will need to be quite if not I'll brake a family tradition for 80 years and buy another brand.
