Received a recall # 49151 letter in July 2016 stating that the passenger side airbag inflators are defective and that I would received a letter when parts were received. I never got a letter so I called Chevrolet customer assistance # 1-800-222-1020 on 8-22-2016 spoke with lisa and was told they have no parts and vehicle was safe to drive. If the vehicle was safe why did I received the recall.

Takata recall received letter stating my truck is affected by the takata airbag recall. The letter says my truck is "considered safe to drive" followed by a paragraph that says "the inflator may rupture during deployment, causing serious or fatal injuries". I got a similar notice from Lexus a few days earlier, and Lexus offered a rental no questions asked until the issue is resolved. The chevy dealer said they are not offering rentals at this time. Gm customer service said my truck is safe to drive so no rental warranted. I asked the rep why did I get a letter then saying that my airbag may kill me and was told she can't answer that. I want a rental of a similar truck until this is fixed. I live in zone 1/a of the recall as well, so if anyone is likely to have a problem, we are in this area.

Takata recall. For the past year plus, the dealer (paradise/Cadillac) in temecula CA. Has refused to repair the airbag and inflator on recall. My vehicle has been given high priority because of its age and high temperature where I live. I stop driving it because of fear for myself and family. It only has 24,500 miles in it.

Takata inflators. In June of 2016, the warning light for an airbag system function came on. I had to replace one of the sensors that had malfuntioned near the front bumper that activates the deployment of the airbags - at my own expense. Upon researching this issue, I found a lot of owners of similar silverados experienced this same part problem. Then, I received gm recall 49152 in July, 2016 stating that "the propellant in some types of takata airbag inflators can degrade over time, especially after long-term exposure in hot and humid regions. If the propellant degrades to a certain level, the inflators may rupture during deployment, causing serious or fatal injuries". Since I live in north carolina and the truck stays parked outside 24/7, I'm concerned about my safety and anyone riding with me. While what has been warned has not occurred yet, I'm concerned that it could at any time - especially considering how the many of the airbag deployment sensors like mine that went bad seem to be faulty.
Takata recall. There are no parts available to replace the airbag inflator being recalled, in turn causing potential for injury in the event of an accident. Takata is unable to provide replacement in a timely manner to prevent injury in the future.
"takata recall". The date of recall was may 27, 2016. We fell this should be corrected by this date. They state in recall letter . If the propellant degrades to a certain level , the inflators may rupture during deployment, causing serious or fatal injuries.
Takata recall: I received a recall on may 27, 2016 and the dealerships claim they don't have the replacement parts and don't know when they will get them. This is really bad service and a danger to the people driving these vehicles with the bad inflators. These needs to be corrected ASAP!.
Takata corporation (takata) has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain 2007-2011 Cadillac escalade, escalade esv, escalade ext, Chevrolet avalanche, Silverado 1500, suburban, tahoe, GMC sierra 1500, yukon, yukon xl, and 2009-2011 Chevrolet silverado 2500/3500 and GMC sierra 2500/3500 vehicles. This is based upon takata's decision that front passenger airbag inflators it supplied to gm are defective. Gm has submitted to NHTSA a petition for inconsequentiality and NHTSA has granted gm until August 2017 to complete its investigation and to submit all data supporting the petition. If the petition is denied, gm will conduct a recall of the airbag inflators covered by takata's defect information report. . Read more...
"takata recall" I have had a takata air bag recall on my vehicle since may 2016. I have contacted the local dealership and the Chevrolet manufacturer for repairs and they continue to tell me parts are not available for repair. I have also filed a claim on the takata airbag inflator claim and notification center hosted by prime clerk llc. I cannot sell my vehicle to a private party because of the air bag recall. It is taking way too long for repairs and this is causing a hardship. This is a major safety issue and parties need to be held accountable for their slow and unresponsive actions.
Takata recall: my truck is nine years old and has been in the hot climate of texas for all of those nine years so it should be on a first priority list to be fixed since prolonged heat is one of the causes that make the takata airbags unsafe. The recall notice says, "the inflators may rupture during deployment, causing serious or fatal injuries," however general motors is not able to tell me a schedule for getting my truck fixed.

Takata recall. I own a vehicle that has the takata airbags installed and I have not been notified that GMC will fix my vehicle. GMC has not taken action on this recall, they filed a petition of inconsequentiality. Many manufacturers have issued recalls for the takata airbag inflators and fixed the affected cars. Takata recall. The vehicle I own had a recall issued in August of 2015. (gm recall 49152) there has been no notification of an available repair made to the vehicle in the interim, although gm states the vehicle is "safe to drive" they evidently considered it "safe to drive" when manufactured as well. I live in a hot humid environment (louisiana) where the inflators are described as degrading prematurely. I understand the magnitude of this recall, but I would appreciate a resolution of this issue as soon as possible. I am concerned about he safety of the vehicle and the air bag defect indicator light intermittently comes on .
Takata inflators recall notice. Dealer service hasn't received a fix and we check every year since recall notice.
