Code p06dd came on while driving home from work 10 miles away. We reset and truck was driving fine. On 10 degree day, truck displayed low oil pressure shut off vehicle while driving one mile away from work. Checked oil and topped off, tried to start vehicle, heard a noise and truck started ticking noise. Replaced spark plugs and oil pressure switch and still ticking. Forums stated it could be that or the oil pump. Looking at putting in a new oil pump but wondering if this is part of the previous recall.

The relay in the engine shut the power down to the engine. I am reporting this because it only happens in extremely cold weather. In my case it happened in -32 degree windchill, which stranded me for an hour. In talking with the dealership and doing research online it seems as this is an ongoing problem. The problem happened after I had stopped and started after many tries. The reason I am reporting this is because I would hate to see someone else have a problem in extreme cold weather and it turn into a tragedy for a family. Sincerely gary kaphingst.
I have just over 150,000 miles on my 5. 3 liter v8 I constantly have to add oil and have had to since I bought this truck with 124,253 miles on the odometer. I generally add 2 quarts a month. I have brought this issue to my local dealership and have been told rhis is allowance. The oil pan gasket, rear main seal, valve cover gaskets, valve covers, the valve seats, and piston rings are all showing degraded signs. I worked as a mechanic for a short time. I am also a retired logistical transportation operator from the army . I have never know this to be in allowance. I understand that some of these issues are at owners responsibility. I just want to make it kniwn that everyone I kniw with this year model truck have tge same exact problems. Unfortunately this vehicle does have a salvaged title.

I was traveling at approximately 55mph on a smooth paved county road with my a/c on. It was about 78 degrees outside. I had the a/c running about 15 minutes before the air just turned warm. I tried 3 times turning off the a/c and back on, and the air failed to cool. I stopped the truck, turned the a/c on, got out and looked at the a/c compressor. The a/c compressor was not engaging. I took it to a mechanic and the diagnosis was undetermined. 2 other mechanics failed to find the problem as well. The system was charged correctly, not leaking, and even replaced the hvac control module and the problem was not fixed. There are many other cases just like mine and I would like gm to look into the problem. I am proud to be a gm customer and have always liked my gm pickups.
