On Jan 30, 2021 a check engine light appeared on start-up but had no noticeable difference in driving conditions or reading from dash gauges. Checked engine code and it read po6dd, took my truck to a gm dealer and they ran a test showing 20psi too low of oil pressure at the top side of the engine as a result of a failed oil pump solenoid. Was told this could have caused an engine failure. Cost to repair this issue is >$3,000. 00. While the dealership was test driving my truck after repairing the oil solenoid the entire power steering unit failed. The entire power steering unit needs to be replaced and is nearly $1,500. 00 to repair. These problems on a 5 year old vehicle with 103,490 miles seems like a major issue. I reached out to gm and they said that these issues are not under recall and will not be assisting in any costs involved in repairs.

Check engine light comes on p06dd. Initially it was a oil injector that needed replacing within the first 4 years of purchase of a new truck. When the code comes on later it's the oil pump. Oil pump has a pressure switch on it that says pump oil at 10 ppm, if it goes at 7 ppm it will cause the check engine light to come on. The oil pressure going into the engine at 7 ppm is not s serious issue and shouldn't cause the check engine light to come on. I live in a state county where you can't register your 1500 truck for a new vehicle registration with the check engine light on. The dealer wants to bill me 10 hours of labor because of where the oil pump is located inside the engine. The local dealership wants to charge $1,000 for the replacement fo the oil pump and the connected sensor. I would like to see a recall effort happen which will not make the sensor enact the check engine light for small irreverent discretion with the pressure switch.

Truck under 52,000 miles, had all known recalls (6) performed at cliff anschuetz. All maintenance performed within manufacture specified guide lines here also. Truck never displayed error code or service engine light since purchased new. Driving home from work 45 miles an hour March 6, 2019, engine message displayed with beep tone: oil pressure low turn off engine. I immediately pulled off, let truck sit for 5 minutes. No oil or fluids where leaking. Oil appeared normal and at proper level, did not smell burned. Started engine error code was gone, drove 1 � miles to auto repair shop. Same error message appeared after going 100�. Auto repair shop gave me bad news 3 codes: 1) p0324 knock sensor, 2) p0521 engine oil pressure performance, 3) p06dd engine oil pressure control solenoid valve stuck off. Went to feldman Chevrolet of highland, technician told me this should be covered under warranty, lakeside towing delivered my truck there. Feldman will not cover repairs stating out of warranty. Will give me $2000 dollars off on certi rebuilt motor, my cost $7,200 w/12 month warranty. Not acceptable. Salesman there offered me $8000 as trade in. Working with gm complaint department, they have been given all information. Been nice but seems like I am caught in middle between her and service manager at feldman. As of, 4/30/2019, I am awaiting a call back from gm. This is a known defect in this engine described in so many blogs! google 2014 chevy Silverado 1500 engine failure. Vacuum pump only warrantied to 36k, 2016-17 trucks only have a 60k powertrain warranty. Tells you something, gm dropped powertrain warranty down to 60k for 2016-17. This is not common problem, only a matter of when the vacuum pump fails. Pump fails, starts pumping metal debris back into oil/lubrication system taking out the oil pump then the engine. I owe feldman $970 for tear down and for removing oil pan!.
On March 21, 2018, at or close to 1:45 pm, while driving my 2009 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 the instrument cluster began illuminating and producing auditable alarms. The message center indicated to �check oil pressure. � during this failure, I lost all motive power and had to maneuver the vehicle off of the highway's traffic as other vehicles were following me, one of which came very close to rear-ending me. I had the vehicle towed to a repair facility in which they had indicated that this was something they had replaced, on separate occasions with this type of vehicle on at least four previous occasions. The repair facility has indicated that it was due to an �oil pump failure� that is located inside the engine. The mileage is 112,651; I sure would not expect such a catastrophic failure that endangered other motorists and myself. There was not any warning of this failure; the check engine light had not been illuminated before this failure.

I have complainted of excessive oil consumption numerous times to my dealership since day 1. 50k miles they replace the oil pump and rebuilt the lower part of the motor. 97k miles I have p0300 code which is a rapid misfire. The truck immediately lost power and began vibrating. The #4 cylinder has no compression. No warranty, not sure what's next. Not sure what the problem is.
My issue is with the oil pressure in my 2007 chevy Silverado 1500 4x4. The low oil pressure light comes on and I can hear the lifters tapping. I got online and there are thousands of complaints on this same issue. It appears to be a problem with either a defective oil pump or a screen in the oil pressure sensor clogging. This issue needs to be recalled because it effects literally thousands of people.

2007 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 5. 3l engine. At 40,000 miles, the camshaft and a couple of lifters were replaced due to wear and eventual tapping. Again at 90,000 miles, the camshaft and a couple of lifters (lobe 4) were replaced due to lifter wear and breakage causing engine tapping. On the second occurrence, after the lifters had started tapping (and 900 miles from home) a piece of a lifter broke off and caught in the oil pump causing it to stop. I quickly turned off the engine to avoid further damage. Upon this second occurrence of lifter failure causing the camshaft to wear, I felt sure that Chevrolet and gm would replace the engine with a short block but I was extremely disappointed. Gm and the Chevrolet dealer admitted that a camshaft should last as long as the vehicle but I am on my 3rd camshaft in this engine before the warranty ended. One tried to convince me the camshaft was probably of a bad lot made but these 2 occurrences were too far apart for me to believe that a recall would not have occurred during that time. The other (gm) tried to convince me that the camshaft wore out the lifter but I don't buy that excuse either. A new set of tires lasted longer than the engine on both occurrences. I believe the problem is still there. I still have the defective engine block in my vehicle which causes me to doubt the engine dependability and will cause a reduction of the value of my vehicle when it is time to sell or trade.
